The lady that runs this place is just a beautiful host. She was so kind and friendly to us after a long and trying journey. She cooked a delicious breakfast that never seemed to end. The information in the room about the local area, walks and attractions is top notch.

The room was clean and the balcony had a nice view but the most positive thing was the hospitality of the married couple who runs this cute little guest house. From the first minute we felt comfortable and welcomed and that feeling never passed for our whole 3 days stay. The nicest people we’ve met in Sri Lanka! We are very grateful for meeting them :) And the breakfast was every morning different, plenty and delicious!

We really enjoyed staying at Yapa's and Kumari's place. They were so kind to us. The view from the balcony is beautiful. We got a very good local breakfast, it changed every day. It's feels like you are with family. There are only 2 rooms, so it's very calm. They even drove us to Dickwella with a stop at the waterfalls for a reasonable price.

Best place we ever stayed during our travels! The hosts are so lovely and gave us a very warm and welcoming feeling! The rooms are perfect and the breakfast was so tasty, plus they served us a different break each morning. You can really tell that both put all their heart into this guesthouse, just amazing!

everything!! Yapa and Kumari are THE BEST hosts in Ella, they took care of us like parents. beyond the comfortable room, the pretty view and the AMAZING breakfast, they gave us the home like feeling in the world. great room, amazing bed and so clean and nice. best place in Ella!!!

The guesthouse is equipped with everything one needs for a stay of several days, including fast WiFi, a kitchen pantry with water kettle and other equipment as well as a washing machine. The rooms are not huge but cozy and the bed (with mosquito net) is really comfortable. From the spacious balcony you can get an awesome view of the surrounding hills and even a peek on the train line. It’s located on top of a really steep hill that (at least in our case) cannot be climbed by a Tuk-Tuk but by car it’s not a problem. If you’re unsure, just call the owners and they’ll help you arrange transportation. Which brings me to the last and most important part of my review: the owners. They are the loveliest people we’ve met so far! They asked us how we were all the time but didn’t invade our privacy at the same time. Also their breakfast is awesome! We stayed 4 nights and got a different breakfast every day. Leaving this place felt a little bit like leaving home!

Lovely, clean and comfortable family guest house, close to the main street with a lot of restaurants and shops. The home stay is simply perfect. By foot it is 5 minutes walk from the city center, on a small hill with amazing view. The owners are absolutely kind and friendly persons, always helping and caring. They have big hearts! Thank you for the warm hospitality.

Thank you Kumari & Yapa. We really enjoyed our stay here! From the minute we arrived, we were treated like family. Yapa offered to pick us up when we arrived in Ella, and Kumari already had the tea, coffee, and cake ready for our arrival. So sweet! The Emerald Mirror Guesthouse is located on top of a hill, so you have a steep walk up and down, but it only takes 2 minutes and you're almost in the city center of Ella. The high location means you have some incredible views from your bedroom, which we just loved waking up to. The breakfast is good (very big!), wifi works fine, and the shower is hot (just ask them if it's not hot, and they turn it on). Yapa also helped us get a cheap safari tour to Yala National Park with hotel included. He also drove us there. We cannot recommend this place enough for those of you weary travellers who miss a bit of family feeling! X Mia Cecilie & Glenn

Such a lovely couple hosted us. Great, clean room, with big balcony, near the railway station.😇 The lady host even packed us our breakfast leftovers for the trip, she also was very humble about the laundry and didnt say how much it cost, just mentioned we can leave as much as we want for this. Her husband took us to another city and waited for our bus. p.s. they have hot water as well :D Great stay in Ella.

The house is very cozy and perfectly located close to the Main Street. There is a big kitchen and shared space you can use. The room was clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had best breakfasts here. They also helped us with a transfer to the south and helped to buy everything we needed for our further trip. Highly recommend Emerald Mirror Guest!

This is the best guest house I’ve been in Sri Lanka ! Really well located, walking distance to the center (less than 10min and short cut access to start the Ella Rock hike) but far enough to be calm. The room is very spacious and confortable with a beautiful view on the mountains from the balcony. You can make tea and coffee at any time in the kitchen, and the tap water is drinkable as they built a direct access from the mountain water (I drank it for 3 days and wasn’t sick, it is really pure !) so no need to buy bottle water which was a great plus. I’ve never been welcomed by such nice people ! The breakfast is big and delicious and change everyday to taste different specialities (the best dhal and sambol I’ve eaten !), you can even learn to cook with them). They arranged a day trip to Lipton seat and Diyaluma waterfalls which was an amazing day, seeing secret viewpoints, learning a lot about the culture and history of the country.

One of the best places we’ve been in Sri Lanka. When we arrived we found a super clean and tidy room that had a fantastic scent. The host, Kumari , is an amazing person that helped us a lot and a terrific chef. For the three days we were there, we had some of the best breakfast that we had in Sri Lanka.(Since we are vegans, she cooked great vegan breakfasts for us) Great hospitality, highly suggested
