Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandIt’s a very nice guesthouse run by a family. We felt very welcomed by everybody there. They organise pick up from town to their place when you arrive. They explain and offer help with organising trips to local attractions. We also had the chance to rent a scooter for a good price so we had freedom to visit places. When we rest on the terrace, grandma came to offer some tea. It’s was a pleasure to stay there - it’s very authentic 😊

United KingdomThe bathrooms could do with some TLC but considering the price point it was fine.
We were well looked after by Shafny and his family. The view is excellent and lovely place to relax and have breakfast. Breakfast was included and was very nice, omelette, pancakes, fruit and toast. Its a 5 min walk through a cut through to town and we rented a scooter from Shafny that was in excellent condition and great for our trips. The family hospitality is 10/10 and offered advice and what to do in the area. The bed was comfortable.

HungaryMaybe a bit more info about how to reach sites nearby would’ve been nice, but not crucial.
It is a simple yet very comfortable accommodation. It is an easy walk away from the railway station and the bus stop. The breakfast is nice, the hosts are very kind. The room and bathroom is clean (only the bathroom would need a bit of renovation). I had warm water and warm blankets for the night. The view supposed to be nice, but it was misty and cloudy mostly when I was there.

AustriaThe bathroom is clean and totally fine, but could maybe use some renovation:)
Lovely home stay in the sweet town of Haputale. Amazing mountain views from the terrace! The host is super helpful and nice! We got offered tea, papaya juice etc. randomly during the day and the host helped us choose activities around Haputale and recommended good restaurants in town! Breakfast is also included and is super tasty. Bed and blankets were comfortable and there was enough space for our stuff. Would 100% recommend:)!!

United KingdomThe wifi signal doesn't really work in the bedroom, but it works fine on the roof terrace. It would have been good to have more bedsheets.
The host family were very friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. They arranged a free tuktuk ride from the train station to the guesthouse. The room was simple but comfortable, and the view from the terrace over the mountains of Haputale is stunning. There's a walk you can do up into the hills close by.

United KingdomThe young couple running the business were friendly, helpful and straight forward to deal with. The accommodation served my needs perfectly as a short stag location to do some bird watching in the local primary forest reserves. Easy access to town for food, drink and onward transport.

JerseyThe location of the property is fab. It’s not too far to walk to town and the views are phenomenal. We especially loved meeting the family- Iqbal, Nisha and Shafny. They were all so accommodating and helpful. They are very genuine kind people. The breakfast was lovely and the perfect amount of food for us. The wifi was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka which was helpful with our children on a day where the weather wasn’t as good. We would recommend to stay here. This guest house is very nice and has lots of really nice people who are great with kids and are really helpful (phoebe age 9)

Germany- bed was a bit damp and cold (but that could have been mainly due to the rainy climate during my stay) - bathroom facilities needs overall renovation/improvement (e.g. mirror is dead, almost no warm water in morning) - bad soundproofing, so it's quite loud until ~10:30 pm
- very caring and helpful host family - good location - simple but plenty breakfast (mostly Western-style, however) - almost no mosquitoes around Recommendations: If you like hiking, do the Pekoe trail Section 13 and/or climb Wangedigala/Wangedikanda peak (exhausting, but rewarding)

PolandThe host messaged me he has to cancel the booking because of the funeral. Which was a lie, as later on the day I met a person who he extended the booking for and cancelled mine. He didn’t cancel it on the app though and the booking is marked as „non refundable” I’m glad i didn’t get charged at least
Didn’t get a chance to stay there.
