Our room on the ground floor was quite dark given we kept the blinds closed as the window was right where staff and other guests were walking / eating breakfast. There was only one outlet in the room (and one in the bathroom) which made charging our devices a challenge. But these are very minor things! I would still very much recommend this place to other travellers.

Great location in Ella, walking distance to city centre but not too noisy at night. Also excellent location to walk to Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak! Plenty of parking space for our rental tuktuk. Nearby to a laundry where we had some clothes washed. Breakfast was delicious and staff were accommodating.

No tea & coffee making facilities in the room.

An excellent small guest house which is very good value for money and in a good location, close to everything, yet still quiet. Very helpful owner who will drop guests to the bus or train in his own tuk for free, as part of their excellent customer service. He also arranged a private tuk to drive us around several of the main tourist places for a very reasonable charge.

This place was laid out well for our group with a nice common area to lounge in. Rooms nice. Breakfast good. Staff helpful to arrange a tuktuk to tour all the places. Fantastic restaurant just down the street. The location is within an easy walk of town, but off the main road so we were awakened every morning by birds chirping (and not buses grinding and smoking). Would definitely stay here again.

The wifi was a bit poor during our stay.

Location is central but far enough away from the busy town. We loved it. Super friendly Host, great breakfast. He even prepared us breakfast at 5:30 when we took the early train and Drive us to the station. Had Hoppers one day. The Room was nice, very comfortable bed. Hairdryer included.

Shower varied in temperature

Really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in line with the tree tops. And the optional beers and water in the mini fridge was a luxury. Friendly staff had tuk tuks to pick up our bags.

Considering the price we paid was low, there was nothing. It exceeded our expectations.

The manager of the apartment met us when we arrived and was very helpful. The place was beautifully clean and nothing seemed to be too much of a problem for anybody there even offering to take us to the station to make sure we had our tickets the day before we were leaving them a lovely breakfast the next morning, including a trip to the station when we left with our cases We had a wonderful time staying at the freedom villas and would recommend it to anybody else that wanted to book apartment in Ella We also really appreciated the thought and help given to a disabled person.

The bathroom in my room was connected to neighbouring rooms by pipes (I think) because you can hear everything through the toilets which can be a little embarrassing and strange, water pressure was just a dribble but nice and hot, and the WiFi drops off in the evenings, but overall I'd still recommend this place as the positives are many and the negatives are few.

I loved staying here, perfect location, kind and helpful staff, lovely breakfast served on the balcony of every room each morning, fresh and delicious, spacious and clean room, 5 mins walk to the main road, excellent location for hikes to mini Adam's Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge, drop off service to the railway/bus station which means avoiding dealing with the tuk tuk mafia, glorious views from the top floor rooms. A very peaceful and welcoming hotel.

1. No water in the shower or taps - just a trickle. Major issue! Staff & Host keep trying hard to clean the supply pipes! 2. Tropical climate - it is a known fact that there will always be mosquitoes. But, mosquito screens can easily be put on doors and windows to allow ventilation and natural light? 3. Guests were smoking in the common areas and balconies. Smoking must not be allowed near rooms & common areas. 4. Soundproofing was poor! Could hear the next room guests - and it disturbed our sleep.

Good location, not in the hustle and bustle but not in the middle of nowhere.. great outside seating area with both a table and chairs and a chill area with sofa .. loved having breakfast on our balcony .. laundry service offered which was back with us within 24hrs at a very reasonable rate ..staff were extremely friendly and helpful.. we were leaving on an early train and still got breakfast ( at 0545) which we weren't expecting ..

The shower is horrible, there is barely water coming out if you want to shower hot. As soon as you turn cold water on, the water pressure increases but the water is then cold. Also there is no curtain so floor is all wet.

The location is great very close to everything but far enough to avoid the noise and traffic. The room is big and clean and the bed very comfy. The balcony in front of the room is nice to chill, breakfast is also served there. Breakfast is good and includes always some Sri Lankan dish (roti, dahl, egg hoppers or so)

Beautiful homestay walking distance to the heart of town Ella ! Very comfortable and spacious room with a big lounge and seating area! Breakfast was tasty and served with so much love by the hostess.Our host speaks very good english and guided us well on how to visit the nearby places of interest ! Lot of cafes and eating options nearby! Must spend 2-3 days here to soak in the refreshing Srilankan vibes!🤗
