The property is located right on the main road. The room was very comfortable, clean, and tidy. Loved the pool surrounded by palm trees! The staff was super friendly and helpful—they even assisted me in renting a scooter. Highly recommend!

The bikes that you can use could use some maintenance. But since they are just a nice (free) add-on, it's nothing I would necessarily complain about. It's next to the main street which can be a bit loud at night but not that you'd lose much sleep over it to be honest.

Very nicely located to do all the things you'd want to do around Sigiriya. The host offers tuktuk service to drive you early morning to whatever "mountain" you want to go on for sunrise - not more expensive than other tuktuk drivers. Also offers safari in the nearby park. Room itself was spacious and clean. Pool was well maintained. Food was great. Nothing to complain regarding the room or hotel itself.

You are on the edge of the village, but I wouldn’t say this is a negative but could be for someone else

+ Karu and family were friendly - took us to lion rock and pringdula, organised a safari (all at good prices) + good breakfast and dinner. We had dinner in Sigiriya village - we should have just eaten at the home stay, it was much better! Karu actually drive us into and from town on this occasion as well! +Comfortable room + great pool that was cleaned daily!

The towels smelt musty, but I can understand why as it’s hard to get anything dry in such a humid area.

Beautiful rural area to explore on bicycles, great host who offered very good value excursions to Dambulla, Polonnawura and Sigiriya in his tuktuk and was a great guide as well, lovely friendly wife, good filling breakfast, small but pristine pool with lights at night, bicycles available free of charge (although they need some maintenance!)

The best experience ever! We are so happy to choose this homestay. Host Karu picked us up from airport and organized all trips around Sigirya, and we also booked him for whole week to drive us around SriLanka. We are family of 4 and don't have enough good words to describe how good we were teated and pampered. Karu was not just our tour guide but guardian angel🙂❤️ Galaxy Stay rooms are very Clean, comfortable and cozy. SwimmingPool is cool and Clean. The wooden hut is fantastic, beautifully decorated, spacious and comes with a fridge. You sit between the banana leafs, at night you can look up to the stars and watch fireflies twirling around. The pool is great and refreshing. The home cooking is absolutely yummy for very reasonable prices. For breakfirst I got every morning something new to taste. The hosts are very caring and helpful, such a nice family, I would have loved to stay.

This homestay is really recommended. Perfect location between Dambulla and Sigirya. The homestay is next to a road so earplugs can be useful if you are a light sleeper The hosts are very nice and want to help in every way, they can also arrange transport to your next location. Host Karu has a tuk tuk and brought us to Polonnaruwa for a day to see the ruins, he makes a good tour to see the highlights and we had the opportunity to see an elephant crossing the road on the way back! You can also rent bikes to go to Sigirya (about 20-30 min). The swimming pool is a gem, small fridge is a bonus and the beds are very comfortable. Would have given an 11 if possible 😉

The family hosting this homestay is truly amazing! Really nice and kind people. The location is good, the pool is a big plus and the rooms had everything you need. Breakfast was good too. They also organized a safari for us.

Karu and his family are very friendly and the accommodation was excellent. The garden and pool are beautiful and clean. His wife is an excellent cook. Karu also organized the perfect trips to the area for us and secured tickets and took us to the bus stop to Colombo.

Nothing absolutely wonderful stay .

Wow .What a wonderful place .The Owners are so charming , friendly and so helpful . The cabin was very good ,large plenty of space and an outside balcony with chairs and a sofa . The pool was a very useful added bonus ,a lovely dip at the start or at the end of the day . They even allowed me to charge my Electric Tuk Tuk free of charge. Shops and restaurants within walking distance . They have a small restaurant serving wonderful food . I ate there every night The breakfast was plentiful fruits, eggs,toast tea or coffee . What really makes this place is the Owners a truly wonderful caring family who will assist you in everything from tours etc ,they even provide a early morning trip ( leaving around 4.30 am )to take you to watch the Sun rise. I really enjoyed my 3 nights and would Highly Recommend you visit ,you will not be disappointed .. This without doubt is a true Sri Lankan family experience. I must say a really Big Thank You to this wonderful family ..

Smell in the room was too strong.

It is an example of perfectly rethinked place. The room is equipped in everything you may need while travelling through Sigiriya: hairdryer, cutlery, kettle, towels, glasses, a knife to cut some local fruits like pineapple. They even offer antimoscito light-killer in the room. Also the pool was perfect: nicely disigned, hidden in the backyard, offering a refreshing bath during hot days. Local breakfast included.

Only “slight” downside is that you can’t walk to any other restaurants or bars, if this is something that you like to do in the evenings (which we do). Especially if you were staying longer than two nights. You would need to stay closer to “lionrock” for this luxury, not that you would want to be walking around at night in the jungle …. Wild elephants roam!

This family run homestay was perfect for the two of us spending only two days in Sigiriya! The pool was a welcome addition after long days of exploring the surrounding area, which the husband took us to in his TukTuk, or when it came to it arranged for our safari. Bikes were also available if you wanted to cycle round. The food at the homestay is also very good and authentic (cooked by the wife) from the breakfast and the dinner. Nothing was ever too much, as the hosts were always very helpful.

We had a really nice stay. The rooms are really clean & comfortable and equipped with everything you need. The pool was clean and great for hot days. They also offer dinner in the accommodation, that was really good and fair priced. But most importantly the host family is extremely nice and helpful. They gave us a tuk tuk tour to hiking spots and organized a nice safari in the Hurulu Eco Parc for us. We can only recommend to stay here, we even decided to stay longer than planned.

Anusha is an exceptional, warm and welcoming host – we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Galaxy View Homestay. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean. Our room had great air conditioning. The pool was a great vibe, very clean and a relaxing spot to chill out. Anusha even bought out mosquito coils to keep us comfortable when we were sitting and enjoying a drink outside in the evening. The home stay is a short 15 minute drive to Pidurangala and Sigiriya rock, making a great spot to start the walk nice and early in the morning. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast of fruit, roti, bread, tea and coffee. There are several eateries within a 5-10 minute walk of the homestay, as well as a small supermarket/shop and an ATM. We only stayed one night in Sigiriya but absolutely loved the place and would’ve stayed longer if we knew it was so good!

There are a lot of mosquitoes so just be prepared, but that is the same everywhere.. Somewhere to put away and hang clothes would be good. It is a bit away from the main village but you can go by bike in the day or tuktuk in the evening ( I ate in every night as it was so good though )

Fantastic stay. Karu picked me up from the airport in a taxi and as with the rest of my stay was so polite, efficient and friendly. He suggested a daily itinerary including Polonnuwara, Dambulla caves and Sigiriya rock and Pidurangala, taking me in his tuktuk. He used to work as a tour guide so is very knowledgeable and knows everyone ! The room was comfortable, air con noisy but I used the fan instead. Great treat to have the pool to cool off in. The food, home cooked by Anusha, was incredible, and all at such good value. Loved it here. Thank you.

Galaxy View Homestay is unforgettable. The host family go above and beyond to make your stay perfect and accommodate your every need. Karu took us everywhere we wanted to go and showed us Sigiriya’s beauty with stops in the tuktuk along the way. The hikes are seriously breathtaking, both views were insane. His wife is an amazing cook and we thoroughly enjoyed her breakfast and dinners! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms a great size. The pool area was the icing on the cake where we were able to take a dip after a fun packed day. A stay we really won’t forget 🫶🏻
