I stumbled upon Gamodh Citadel Resort during my recent trip to Anuradhapura, and I'm so glad I did! This place is truly fantastic. Its location is ideal, being within easy reach of all the major religious sites in the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. My room was spotless and comfortable, providing a relaxing haven after a day of exploring. The breakfast options were a delightful touch, with both Eastern and English selections to cater to various tastes. I highly recommend Gamodh Citadel Resort to anyone visiting Anuradhapura. It's an excellent choice for a comfortable and convenient stay.

Property is in need of refurbishment, especially the bedrooms and bathrooms. The potential for this property to be gorgeous is there.

Location was good, staff were very attentive and helpful. We did request a room change as the 1st one offered felt like a dungeon. 2nd room was much better but the property is tired and in need a refresh of paint and furnishings. Food was good and pool was lovely to cool off in.

Advertises room facilities that don't match room. We originally booked Deluxe double. We had to pay for upgrade to get fridge, balcony etc.

Bathroom had a terrible odour. It was clean but smell must have come through the pipes

Bathroom getting wet as the shower area is not covered by a glass partition or simple curtain. The free wifi data offered was not enough even for one day and we were not informed about free top up.

Our stay at Anuradapura was mainly for pilgrimage and part time work on line. It was just 10 min drive to important places like sri maha bodi and Maha seya. The breakfast was prepared according to our request and it staisfies our need.

The hotel is c5km to main attractions and 6km to new town centre. However it is unlikely we would have got such a large room with pool in such a nice setting for the price closer to the city centre.

Nice room on the first floor with a very big balcony. Great garden area and large pool, which was very welcome after visiting the town and cultural attractions. There was some building work going on in rooms adjacent to the pool area but this was not too noisy. Friendly helpful staff. Reasonable breakfast. It is quiet with lots of wildlife about.

Perfect location nearby all Anhuradhapura attractions. Peaceful and calm hotel with nice people. pool is nice. Food can be nice if you ask for local preparations. The coconut sambol is incredible!

We had a nice stay at Gamodh Citadel Resort. The room was good and the pool amazing. We also liked the breakfast a lot. Nuwan from the Lobby was very nice and he would help us out on everything. Thank you very much! :)

We were given a room on ground floor which looked like an old building. Room was awful with mould & damp in corner wall. Towels looked dirty & bathroom shower wasn’t working. We complained & they couldn’t fix shower. It was quite late at night so they moved us to a newer building on 1st floor which was much better. Bigger room & shower & balcony.

Internet was ok but the process to connect was a bit old fashioned.

Fantastic pool cleaned every morning. Great to sit near under the trees in the shade with a cold beer after a hot days safari! All the Staff were great. So accommodating helpful and friendly. A great cook; tasty breakfasts and curry dinners!

Beautiful hotel in a great location for anyone who wants to experience what Anuradhapura has to offer. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The breakfast was included with our stay and we opted for the Sri Lankan style breakfast. It was so delicious and we ordered the same for the second day as well. Overall a very positive experience and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to spend time in Anuradhapura.
