We highly recommend this beautiful place. It truly feels like home, surrounded by a friendly family and their lovely dogs, peacefully located between the river and the sea. The cabin we booked is small and charming, perfectly adequate for the price. The outdoor seating area on the terrace is inviting. Additionally, there is warm water in the shower and a mosquito net at the bed to sleep safe from insects. They are wonderful people with great values, and staying with them is absolutely worth it. We would have stayed longer if we hadn’t had other plans. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Secluded guesthouse in tangalle with a very kind host and lovely family. Cabin style rooms with good privacy. Comfy bed. Our host was very helpful organising tuk tuks for us.

Everything with Gems Garden was so amazing! Ruwan & Ishani is now our family away from home♥️♥️We have not met more loving and warm people, running this family business. We had the luxury to spend new years and my birthday with them, and they organized the best party! Except for the amazing family who runs it, Gems Garden is so beautiful! Our cabana was big, clean and comfortable and has a lovely porche. It is so close to the beach and loads of restaurants. We really hope to come back soon again♥️

Lovely cabana in a quiet place very close to the beach. Good mosquito net. The room was very comfortable and we had a great time staying there. The owners are very welcoming. There is also lots of restaurants nearby. We can definitely recommend staying there!

Gems Garden was an amazing experience from start to finish. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The location is perfect, right by the beach, with stunning views and easy access to everything. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to help. Highly recommend this place especially with the puppies at the beach!!

Beautiful accommodation with very nice hosts. The Gems Garden Guest House is a family business who offers delicious authentic Sri Lankan breakfast and very clean rooms. It's close to the sea with a long natural beach. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Incredible welcoming from Ruwan and his family ! The guest house is a bit away from the center, perfect for the calm we looked for. Ruwan helped us all our stay long, providing us a scooter rent at a fair price to a family he helps as often as he can. We had a big room with fans, clean, hot shower, delicious homemade breakfast, right next to the beach ! Perfect stay !

We had a wonderful stay with Ruan and his lovely family. They are so kind and we were treated like family the entire time we were there. Whatever you ask for they will provide if they are able to. Our cabana was a little dark but it was very clean and everything worked well – hot water, fan, sockets though as everywhere wi-fi did not always work effectively. The gardens are lovely and we enjoyed relaxing on our little balcony with Misty at our feet. We had breakfasts and dinners at Gems and discussed these with Ruan who went out each day to buy fresh food. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced considering the generous serving sizes. Thank you Ruan for organising the trip on the lagoon, the tuk tuks for the temple and the bus, and for looking after us so well.

my friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and felt so welcome and happy! Our room was very clean and spacious. Urwan and his family are amazing and so kind!! Very helpful, with organizing tuktuks to go places. Made us delicious Sri Lankan curry, the best dhal I’ve had in Sri Lanka !! truly was a great stay and worth staying at if you in the area.

Gems Cabanas are simply wonderful!! The owner and his sweet little family are incredibly kind, open-hearted people. I felt comfortable everywhere in Sri Lanka, but this surpasses everything. It feels warm immediately upon arrival, a bit like you've known each other forever. The cabanas are super spacious, clean, and large. The beds are mega comfortable, and there's a really nice mosquito net. Everything is well-maintained and beautiful. It's just a few steps to the sea. I'm really happy to have landed here, and the only thing I regret is not being able to stay longer. For the first time on my journey, there's even a wardrobe to store clothes, and there are cozy chairs on the private veranda.

Ruan is a super host, extremely helpful in every way. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Green garden setting alongside the lagoon and thirty seconds from the beach. No longer a beachfront property but access to the beach either side of the lagoon tributary is easy. Right towards busier Tangalle, left for quieter stretches of towards Lonely beach. A very lovely, small family business that doesn't disappoint.

The room is basic and quite dark with limited natural light. The curtain also doesn't fully cover the window so limited privacy. A few cockroaches in the bathroom but thats not the hosts fault. Overall a great place for the value 😊

The Cabana was great for the price. Provided hot water and a lovely location right on the beach. There was a powercut during our stay so the host brought us candles and cooked dinner for us for a decent price. Comfy bed too! A lovely restaurant quite close called Dream Family - highly recommend!

Wi-fi didn't reach the house.

Very nice cabannas and close to the beach. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Rwan was very nice and helped us to organise activities in Tangalle (turtle watching, cannoes in the lagoon, etc) and did everything possible to make feel us comfortable despite the current limitations in the country.

Everything nice, we came only for one night and we stayed five nights.Very nice familly which prepared for us good food, especcialy fish for our good bye dinner. Good localization, right on the beach and lagoon. Very helpfull people and calm area. I really recomend this place

bungalow was a little too dark inside, only one window and I love places with a lot of natural light. And also there was problem with Internet, wi-fi didn't work in bungalow and close to it and the same with mobile's data (what of course isn't owners' fault).

Great location, walking distance from various beachfront restaurants and cafes. The Tangalle town is very close too. Not even 5 minutes with a tuktuk ( walking takes about 20-25 minutes). It's worth it if you want a low budget stay, the owner is very kind.
