Very friendly owner and views were amazing and great location. The room seemed damp and we were bitten by a leech in the night. I would say it was quite basic but adequate. Ella is a great place to visit with lots to do.

Staff were very helpful, couldnt fault them., location high up hill and closest restaurant was a fair walk down and up the hill (146 steps down mountain) did it the first night and when owner saw us return said " you need tuk tuk" . Subsequent days he organised tuk tuk to take us down the hill and back us up in the afternoon cost 1500 lkr for 2 return trips and lift down with luggage in large tuk tuk. Hotel far from town but this might be a good thing considering the array of bars in town could be noisy at night. No refrigerator, no shower curtain separating shower and toilet. Bed quite firm. Views were nice but not as amazing as reported in other reviews. Breakfast standard srilankan offering of fruit, toast and omelet, usually served cold.

Balcony views were obscured by some trees, you only really get the view from the top floor / dining area.

Excellent view from the lobby / breakfast area. Great staff on hand who were always happy to make tea and provide drinks. Very remote location which was nice if that's what you are after - be aware that if you are driving then it is off the main road and very steep. Our rental just about made it but I would not want to drive to or from the property when it is raining.

The bathroom smelled strongly of sewer, and would not close properly. The fan was very old and made a super loud noise so we didn't use it. When I tried to look at it it was full of hair. No air con. Not easy to access, they could give more indications. Also the rooms are not well insulated from noise so we were woken up very early and they were hammering all day.

This is a great place with a stunning view! The room was small and quite simple, but it was perfectly fine for a one or two-night stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Since we had to leave early in the morning before sunrise, they even prepared a breakfast-to-go for us, which was such a thoughtful gesture. While the room wasn’t luxurious, it was clean and comfortable, and the overall experience was very pleasant. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for a short, relaxing getaway!

The property is still under construction and not well-maintained in terms of upkeep. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to prioritize professionalism at the expense of a cordial approach. There might be noticeable differences in treatment between South Asian guests and those from Eastern or Western regions. Overall, it did not feel like a value-for-money choice.

The road towards the property was extremely narrow and through the jungle and without a proper road. We went there by night and it was extremely dangerous by car to go on such hight. Also it was far from the centre.

The room was too small for a family of 4, especially with all the luggages. One of the beds was small to fit two people in fact, just couldn't sleep well as was worried my kids were going to fall off. The shower definitely needs maintenance. Had to ask for toilet paper and towels as there weren't enough in the room upon arrival. The worst of all though is the road to get there. Don't think it is worth the drive.

The view was definitely impressive and the staff were really accommodating and tried very hard to satisfy all our needs. They booked a tuk tuk for us everytime we needed. Breakfast was also good and abundant.

The driveway to the hotel was extremely steep and narrow so our driver could not access the hotel directly. The hotel provided a shuttle from the main road up the 800m driveway. The process was slow and exchanging luggage with 6 people was difficult.

The views were amazing! Staff friendly and rooms basic but had everything we needed.

Long way out of centre by tuktuk on a narrow, steep and bumpy road ( made negotiating a tuktuk more challenging). Meant it wasn't the easiest location to go to and from, particularly at night for dinner. The family suite quite a small room with no AC so not the easiest to relax in with children. I personally would choose somewhere more central next time - but that's personal choice.

Rooms are on the smaller and older side, especially if you are placed in the bottom floors. They were also a bit dark. But maybe it’s about the room that we got!

If you’d like to eat breakfast with arguably the most stunning view over the surrounding mountains and tea plantations, you found the right place. Host is very kind and helpful. Dropping our bags after check out was also not a problem.

Location is very difficult, my taxi could not get closer than 850 because of the road condition, but they came and collected me tuk-tuk. Lots of bugs, no A/C but at night, the temperature dropped and it was okay. Bug net infront of the window had a big hole in it. Walls and ceiling had mold damage starting to show under the new paint. No dinner available and the restaurants are difficult to reach. All in all, it was one of the more expensive ones I stayed but poorest. It was not bad, but just it was not worth the money. Ok for one night.

Whenever someone opens/ closes the door of the room, it is very audible throughout the house. We would have appreciated being informed beforehand that the chef is on holiday and no dinner served.

Shower weak and sometimes no hot water. Spartan interior in rooms, particularly bathroom's . Long way from town. Tuk tuks £5 for return very bumpy journey. View is great but we've stayed elsewhere far nearer to town with similar view.

Golden View as the name implies is about the view which is stunning. Friendly and helpful staff, pretty good breakfast.

WC is very poor standard. Mosquito net in the window was broken so we had some bugs etc in the room. Small water bottles (0,5-1 liter) NOT free of charge and not climate friendly/smart… doors to the hallway very thin so you hear other rooms slamming thier doors

The location is super! Quiet and away from the craxy main road of Ellas party scene. Sunrise from the balcony is amazing :) staff friendly.

Everything was great! The road is tricky to drive up so the owner meets you with his vehicle to help! Amazing. Then after that there’s just a few steps to walk down to the road! Keeps you fit!

We loved the owner, the breakfast and the price! The view was exceptional! The hosts were amazing!
