United KingdomPerfect place for a Colombo stay to unwind the jet lag. From our seafront room the view across the ocean was sublime. The 27th floor roof top bar and pool were great. Gym was excellent. Breakfast was spot on and the evening buffet was good value. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

AustraliaAfter booking the room, I noticed that the bathroom looked straight into the bedroom, no privacy. It was not obvious from the photos on bookings.com that there was a blind. Maybe make this a bit more obvious as I had to book a second room for my son, who was travelling with us for our daughter's wedding.
From the time we arrived the service from the staff was exceptional. The facilities, pool, gym, restaurants were all used and amazing. Rooms were clean Location was perfect, overlooking the Indian Ocean, great way to wake up in the morning. We would definitely come back to Granbell Colombo and recommend to all when travelling to Sri Lanka.

It’s a shame that if you have late flight you’re not allowed to use the pool and bar facilities, which included purchasing food and drink (standard practice at any other high end hotel) More pool appropriate seating with some shaded options At breakfast there was the option to order a latte, paid, which I don’t mind at all. When I asked the wait staff they said I could get one from the buffet, which I knew I couldn’t. Then when I asked if there was a dairy free option as I’m lactose intolerant and noticed the cafe in the lobby had dairy free options, I was told no and he walked off.

PortugalLovely hotel, and it's very new and clean. The pool and the bar in the rooftop are nice and good to relax after a long day. Breakfast has a lot of variety, but it gets very crowded. The only down was that 2 weeks prior to my stay, I kept emailing the hotel spa to book a massage and they were never able to accommodate me due to lack of female therapists, which I don't find normal. This was disappointing as I was looking forward to it. Other than the spa's lack of willingness, everything was smooth, highly recommend it.
