The hosts at this guest house are truly outstanding for their friendliness and levels of service. The Avendra is located down a narrow and steep hill,, but when you arrive at the road they come and collect you in their tuk tuk. Immediately you are rewarded with stunning views. The hosts bring you drinks and snacks as a welcome. The room is very compact... and the bathroom is certainly a "wet" room..... however this is worth the compromise for the views and high levels of service. We had dinner on the evening we arrived on our "private" terrace looking over the hills and rail track. Dinner was a good spread of local food and was delicious. Breakfast lifted it to a whole new level...... it far exceeded what we expected, wonderful variety of fruit and other dishes all well presented. Delicious. The hosts son Imantha was also so friendly and engaging, indulging us in conversation in a wide range of subjects. He also takes guest on any tours to suit their requirements in his tuk tuk. Without doubt, staying at Avendra and meeting this charming family has been a highlight of our trip.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Guest Inn. The family is really nice and welcoming. We also recommend the tour from Imantha, as he brought us to interesting places. He also drove us in his own tuktuk, so we didn’t need to worry about getting a taxi. The room is really nice and clean and we loved the private balcony with a beautiful view. It felt a bit like a fairytale house and the breakfast was delicious and more than enough.

Everything is smooth and perfect. Many thanks to Imantha and family for taking care of all our needs from arrival to departure. Before arriving at ella, we were contacted by Imantha via whatsapp and he picked us up from the ella railway station. And we received a very warm welcome from them. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Imantha for the experience given to us by taking us to all the beautiful places to visit in the Ella area. Also, the room we stayed in felt like a sweet home found in a fairy tale. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is very large. Especially the new shower is very luxurious. The unique breakfast served from the balcony as well as the beautiful mountain view in front is indescribably inspiring. We highly recommend this place to all of you, who looking forward to visit ella. Hurry, reserve them before they sell out. They will undoubtedly make your Ella memory an unforgettable and unique one.

I spent a wonderful three nights at this secluded place above Ella. A perfect location to climb up Ella rock for sunrise or walk the railway track into town. Lovely food morning and night and Imantha was the perfect host.

We just had the most incredible time here. The location and view is stunning, a little out of Ella centre with a fun walk in along the train tracks or a cheap tuk tuk ride. It’s much better to stay away from the crowds and really makes a difference being up in the peaceful hills. The best part though is Imantha and his family, the most caring and friendly people really made this the best place we have stayed in our month in Sri Lanka. Imantha organised our trips and showed us things we’d have never found ourselves. Just amazing!

Room was fairly functional but comfy, likewise the bathroom just ok but really good value for money.

We loved this place - mainly can’t speak highly enough of the hosting, Imantha picked us up from the station and later again in town, made us feel very at home and was one of the nicest people we’ve met over here.

Perfect place to stay in Ella! A little bit far from the town but only a 15min funky tuk tuk drive with the owner. Owners are amazing, really friendly and they'll do everything to help you. We had our laundry done too, it was quick and clean. Amazing view and calm.

It’s a little bit further from town. But you get some peace and quiet in nature. And Imantha can drive you anywhere you like.

The family is just out of this world. They are always ready and helping with whatever you need! I would have liked to stay longer. Will be back in the future! The breakfast was the most delicious I have had in my life! ❤️

Beautiful view in a quiet area of Ella. The family hosting the Guest Inn welcomed us with open hearts and we felt like at home. They cooked us a delicious dinner which we enjoyed on the private terrasse. There you can even find a swing. After our hike on Ella rock Imantha got us a lift from the station nearby so we didn‘t have to walk back uphill on the road, which was very comfortable. We really had an amazing stay!

Very quiet, about 15 minutes tuk tuk ride from Ella (the father of the owner can take you around, recommend a short train ride to Haputale where he waits for the train and brings you back). Lovely private verandah as in the photo,with views. They catered kindly for my dietary needs and the food was generous and good. Do visit the most wonderful organic tea plantation called Amba. The room was simple but good & comfortable

We liked everything. The water pressure in the shower was a reminder that we were on top of a mountain.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Imantha and his family were extremely attentive. We couldn't have asked for more! We were met at the station and the reception we received really made our trip. The Avendra is just amazing. Very beautiful location with a nice balcony (Swing bed was our favorite) overlooking Ella's mountains and lots of birds, squirrels and monkeys to enjoy. The room was well maintained, enough spacious and well wooden furnished. We slept so comfortably there. Recommend it to everyone who willing for a peaceful mountain experience!!!.

The owners are lovely people, extremely kind and helpful. The room was beautiful and cozy, and we really enjoyed the terrace with amazing views. Food was delicious too. :) Can highly recommend staying here!
