Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandAmazing hotel, very expensive, so I wouldn't pay for more than one night. You are paying for the amazing location. But the hotel and food is also great, just very expensive for Sri Lanka. Worth it though.

ItalyLocated in an old tea factory, this hotel is something special for people who enjoy tradition. The outside facade of the old tea factory was kept, while the inside keeps many momentos, machinery and the old elevators. A special experience! Dinner and breakfast buffet were both excellent as well.

Dec 2023 What an amazing experience. This hotel is a feast for all the senses. I especially have to mention Jayanthi who did our tea tasting and mini tea factory tour. She was such a wealth of information. Shamnu the chef was amazing. He arranged a veritable feast of vegan food for us, including vegan desserts, and vegan masala tea. Kesawan, our server was also extremely attentive and helpful. Definitely worth a visit. This is such a well-maintained and special hotel.

United KingdomWould have given you a 10 if it wasn’t for the road getting to the hotel, pretty stressful experience as no room for cars to pass, we met a bus and was forced to back up over mud, you need to sort this road or people might be reluctant to visit.
If you want a full Sri Lankan tea experience this is a must, in middle of tea plantations in an old colonial tea factory. Perfect experience.

United Kingdommusic in the bar would be great!
We stayed here for our honeymoon/ birthday treat. The hotel is an experience for itself. Tea plucking and tasting as a must, nature walk also a must! breakfast was fab lots of choices, evening buffet was great! (i think it’s cheaper to do half board than bed and breakfast - you can’t eat anywhere else as it’s at the top of a hill so choose half board) we had high tea which was lovely! They even brought out birthday cake for me!

Sri LankaFood was absolutely delicious top notch chef in Heritance tea factory appreciate all the chefs who work hard in the kitchen and keep it up guys. Front staff reception is absolutely fantastic they help us a lot while we are here. One of the front staff member call Sathish is having a personal phone conversation pretty loud in front of the room balcony area approximately 30 minutes which was pretty disgusting.Always try to have professional attitude when you are at work. Overall the stay was perfect and absolutely worth the experience ❤️😍

RussiaEverything was good. One thing to mention in this section could be the road to the place. But it gets better soon after a welcome drink :)
We stayed at this hotel for one night and it was perfect. The room was really cool, comfortable and had everything we needed. The restaurant was great and we really liked our breakfast. Two more great things which deserve a special mention are the garden and the tea factory. My girlfriend likes gardening while I’m not a fan and not even an amateur but it is so big and beautiful, you should see it. A tea factory is a great historical site where you can learn something new. We had a guide who told and showed us how tea is made. It is fascinating.

NetherlandsThe hotel is very expensive for what you get, especially the room. The room is in the old English style which is beautiful but could definitely do with an update; shower in the bath, noisy rooms, we had black hairs on the matras and when there is a lot of wind you hear loud noises through the ventilator at night.
The food was absolutely incredible; would rate at 10! Definitely take the buffet for dinner. Besides good food, also amazing service! Also the tea plucking, tea tour and tea tasting was an incredible experience with the lady. I would 100% recommend this tour. A beautiful view and unique experience that the hotel is an old tea factory and that parts are still functioning.

Best hotel in srilanka . we have stayed so far. I stayed 3 Heritance hotel in srilanka before but this hotel was the best. Everything was fantastic. Scenery ,staffs and foods was exceptional. Especial thanks to Mr. Muttusamy from front desk for his great welcome and sincere good bye to us. Also Mr. Sampath from the restaurant took really nice care of us. Also Ms. Krishna was really kind during tea plucking experience. My family felt love with tea because of this hotel. As a hotelier I highly recommend this hotel.

CanadaDrinks, cocktails and food quite a bit more expensive than anywhere else we came across. Rooms are a bit dated (but that comes with being an older building). I think the carpet triggered my allergies a bit. As a Canadian, some of the colonial vibes/ staff uniforms felt a bit non PC.
Beautiful property and super friendly and accommodating staff. The welcome tea is AMAZING. Certainly a luxury experience. We originally thought we would want to go off during the day and explore other tea factories but ended up just staying at the hotel since it was so beautiful and have their own mini tea factory experience. We had massages at the spa which were amazing! Best massage ever.
