It was an excellent accomodation with amazing view and very friendly and helpful staff. We had to check-out very early morning and they packed away foods for breakfast. We could pay with card despite previous comment . The room hasn't got AC but it isn't needed in this area in Sri Lanka (Hill Country) Highly recommend.

We had a cold shower one morning and luke warm the next. The solar hot water probably isn't big enough for all of the guests, especially if most shower in the evening. Both nights we stayed the chief was off which meant a reduced menu. One night we chose to eat out instead, but the second night we were content but it did take over an hour for the food. It was large and tasty when it arrived though.

The views from the room and the dining area are brilliant. The breakfast was huge, with a mix of fruit, toast, juice, tea/ coffee, fried eggs, plus some Sri Lankan fare. They have a good nap of the area and the different attractions and approximate prices for a tuk tuk to get there.

Need to climb steep down to reach the place. Young and fit people this is fine. However knowing this is a hilly area, this is expected to get great views from room balcony. Hot water is not continuous… some times very hot water in noon and evenings, some times in early morning. No big deal though.

Views are to die for - no other property around it,has these kind of views. I got to see little Ravana water fall from room, post and pre rain, no words to describe. Very clean rooms and bathroom. Fabulous breakfast with juice (though too sweet) huge fruit platter. I got special breakfast since I’m a vegetarian, coconut veg curry and string hopper (idiappam). Bed is comfortable, clean toilets. Priyanth cooks great food, arranged taxi at competitive price and also arranged a bike for me for local sightseeing. Welcome drink the day you arrive is heaven. I got accommodated on top floors on request due to views.very safe for solo travellers and big rooms for family too. Their common dining area is very welcoming. Nice owner as well, a nice gentleman with good knowledge of the area.

There was nothing that I didn't like. I only wish they had a pool...but that's a first world problem!

The setting was absolutely stunning looking out across the valley to the mountains and far distant plains. The food was excellent! Priyantha did a fabulous job looking after us. Nothing was too much trouble for him. His food preparation and presentation skills were world class and the tastes devine. Always cheerful, always respectful, Priyantha made out stay all that more enjoyable.

Excellent views and friendly staff. The manager was very welcoming and arranged tours, tuk tuks and laundry for us. This place was one of our highlights of Sri Lanka.

The hotel shows some ageing but a few TLC would bring it back to its prime. Wifi was slow at times, but I think it was common in uphill country.

A simple no-frill hotel with 7 rooms, all facing the valley. The view from the rooms and the restaurant is spectacular (including a waterfall and the train). The beds were very comfortable (firmness was 4.5 out of 5). The restaurant served delicious Sri Lankan food, wrap, noodles, and other items. The chef Priyantha and staff Milan were friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile to make our stay at the hotel comfortable. This is a lovely hotel, a great relaxing place that gave us a happy feeling. I will return to this hotel.

There were a few minor amenities missing but all in all great stay.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, the site itself was epic. Views for days. The breakie was pretty decent too - just be wary of thieving monkeys.

Due to the location, on a steep hill side above Ella town, hotel accessibility isn't the best. Using a tuktuk to/from Ella is recommended. An active railway runs below the hotel, and early/late trains can be noisy, notably when using their horn.

The view from the hotel (and rooms) is breathtaking. The hosts are really welcoming and willing to help, they propose several tours by tuktuk to discover Ella area and the places to see. The breakfast (and proposed food) is generous and delicous.

Doesn’t accept credit cards but you can pay with foreign currency. They are very helpful in this matter. No hangers in the room.

Great location to explore the city center with a short tuk tuk ride. It’s totally worth it to experience and see the real Ella landscape. Very helpful and nicest staff you can ever ask for. Welcome tea/coffee when you arrive and Very satisfying breakfast including local dishes. If you are up to explore Sri Lanka very early and miss breakfast they even arrange little breakfast packages for you! You are staying in the middle of the jungle so pack some mosquito repellants (also the room has a bug repellants plugged into the wall) Some rooms are newly decorated so they are always working to improve your stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and just like the photos. The hotel is right in the middle of nature and has a magnificent view. The bird sounds in the morning were incredible. I definitely recommend it. However, since it is in nature, you may see a few insects. I think there is no precaution to be taken for this.

The room could do with a bit of an upgrade and wasn't to our taste, as could the bathroom, and there was a slight damp smell when we arrived...this didn't bother us too much as you don't spend much time in the room in Ella. The location might not be suitable for everyone, and is out of town and situated on a long set of steps. The walk to Ella town is down a few sets of steps and along a train track (easy and safe) and takes 10/15 minutes...however walking back you'll have to tackle a few steps to get back to the hotel! Tuk Tuk into Ella takes about 5 minutes and can be arranged by the hotel

Ella Hide View is a great option for a your stay in Ella. The views are amazing from the room and the communal/dining area. The staff were super helpful and friendly, offering great (impartial) advice and generally just willing to help us. We had breakfast after returning from Ella Rock which was excellent, and they also prepared a takeaway breakfast for us as we were leaving for the train early the following morning. We also had laundry done here which was fine, and they offer free bottled water. For the Ella Rock hike this hotel is situated very well, as you can walk down the steps and join the train track which is on the hike route.

The room could have been a little cleaner upon arrival but this was sorted in no time.

The staff went above and beyond for us. We had a small issue with the room which they immediately sorted and kept checking with us that everything was okay. Breakfast was truly excellent and that view is like no other! The property is about 10 mins out of main Ella town but we enjoyed the walk along the tracks and the peacefulness of the location. We had a wonderful stay.
