Excellent value hotel a short walk uphill from the lakeside, with great views of the lake, city and surrounding hills from the restaurant on the top floor where breakfast is served. Host was very helpful, sorting out a problem we had with the shower straight away and organising us a tuktuk when we needed one.

The WiFi didn’t work for the majority of our stay - nice for a digital detox but not great when we needed to look up some logistical things during our stay.

A good value hotel. Room was comfortable, clean and air-con worked really well. The staff were all really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location is ok if you don’t mind a short walk to town and up/down the hill. It is however right next to some of the highest rated restaurants which is handy!

It was all positive.

Mr Sarat, the manager, is a marvel. He is quiet, efficient, friendly and gets everything done beautifully. He deserves a special mention. The view towards the lake is lovely. Everything felt clean, the bed linens were nice and the room was secure. It was nice to have a balcony. I like wood and really enjoyed seeing the wooden doors and bed surrounds. Breakfast was delicious - a tropical fruit plate followed by egg, toast, butter, jam and either pol peny or coconut roti (different days). We had laundry done here too - it was good value and felt very clean. It came back beautifully folded too - unlike the rest of our gear!

There are negative points.

The property is conveniently located for viewing Kandy’s attractions. The room was very clean. The bathroom had been recently renovated. The breakfast was hearty and changed every day. The staff were friendly and helped me arrange outings. There was also tea and coffee making available in your room.

What I Didn’t Like • Water Pressure in the Shower – I had some trouble with the water pressure, which could have been better. • Noise from the Restaurant – There’s a restaurant across the hotel that plays loud music, sometimes late into the night (until 11 PM), which can be disturbing. • Morning Noise from Crows – In the early morning, crows tend to gather on the telephone lines nearby, which can be a bit noisy.

• Exceptionally Friendly Staff – The team was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate me. • Great Location – Conveniently situated, making it easy to explore Kandy. • Early Check-in – I really appreciated that the staff allowed me to check in early, which made my stay even more comfortable. • Good Level of Hospitality – The staff were always helpful and ensured I had a smooth stay.

The local monkeys are a pest and nothing that the hotel can do anything about. You are warned to keep windows and doors shut whenever.

Breakfasts were very good with fresh fruit and eggs and pancakes or something similar. Views were exceptional given it's lofty position. And the staff let me used their fridge to keep drinks cold. Location at the top of a hill was easy to get to by a tuk - tuk costing about 300 (LKR) rupees from the train station and bus terminals. Would suggest first trip by local transport just to get a sense as to how high it is. Then walk back down. An excellent restaurant is just across the road and a wooden fire pizza joint 100 metres away. Both excellent places to eat

Sometimes the staff at the neighbouring Sakura GH get a bit noisy but I always travel in south Asia with ear plugs.

Friendly staff, clean comfortable accom. with open views towards the lake and hills beyond. Pleasant walk into town around the lake or up the steps behind to Arthur’s Seat view point.

the bathroom as a bit small, you had to go in turn round and shut the door before you could use the sink, but this is not a problem, it is a city centre hotel so you expect smaller rooms and not detracting from the stay.

balcony had a fabulous view, general breakfast you expect and can fill up on, but the outstanding thing was the staff. i left my chargers still plugged in and he found someone who was coming to Ella while we were there and got them to me, i said dont worry about it, but they insisted it was no trouble and really made a huge difference to me, the kindness of the chap was remarkable. great restaurant just down the way 'no name restaurant', best meal out we had in sri lanka and so cheap.

karaoke next door but not much they can do about that. Not many food options, Pizza shop is great but busy and closed thursdays. Noname restaurant wasnt very good.

There was a lot of noise from the street in the evening and at night. There was also a bar on the roof of the other building opposite with loud music.

The room was small but clean and adequate. The bathroom was clean and had hot water. The breakfast was delicious and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. It is close to the lake, but you couldn't see it from my tiny balcony, even though they had set it up. The wifi worked well.

The room was rather small, our was just next to the reception. It is further from the city center.

It is aside from all the trafic noise, the hotel staff was very helpfull, the breakfast was very nice with a nice view. The restaurant was in December closed though.
