Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesA beautiful tea plantation with kind and attentive staff. We loved our villa (Hibiscus), the view (trees and peacocks) and breakfast banana bread. The Ayurvedic massage is highly recommended. Be careful and check booked trip information. KK promote and book trips for guests, but will not help to address any problems if an experience does not meet your group's expectations.

This is an amazing hotel. Staff are super attentive, villas are exceptional. This really is a unique hotel, we stayed in Kumbuk which is a huge villa with private pool and gardens. Every little detail has been considered, we wanted for nothing.

It was a flawless stay! The location is fabulous, quiet, nestled in nature with timeless views across tea plantations. The accommodation villas are spread out across 12 acres so wonderfully private. The villas are of course beautifully appointed and big! At the heart of Kahanda Kanda are the communal spaces to relax in linked by the most incredible gardens. The food - wow - was some of the best we had on the whole of the island. The service was exceptional. This stay was a real highlight of our month long holiday.

IndiaFood took some time to be served, but if you order in advance, it comes quickly. The spa was smaller than expected, with only 1 male masseuse. However, when we asked for it, they arranged a female therapist the next day.
The property is large and spread out. Rooms have lots of privacy and are huge on the outside. Food was incredible and the people were warm and friendly. Wifi connection was fantastic. Lots of books to keep you occupied. Great outdoor shower experience.

Difficult to describe the unforgettable stay. The staff are more than 5 stars. The food is amazing; we've never missed the set menu dinner because the chef is super, and he also accommodated our special requests.

United KingdomNothing.
A beautiful, secluded hotel with huge room and a private pool looking over the tea plantation and jungle. This is a very tranquil location and you very much feel at one with nature and your surroundings. Monkeys jumping around in the trees, peacocks walking around and endless bird songs. We did not use the main pool as our private villa pool was huge and the views were just as great, the rooms are also extremely private. The restaurant food was very good too and again with amazing views. Staff were friendly and attentive.

United KingdomNothing but praise.
It was a privilege to stay here. We wanted to relax in a tranquil location with access to the sea and Galle. The KK family has given us so much more. Kahanda Kanda is beautifully designed, curated and maintained. Its environment is idyllic. Our Kadju villa was perfect. Its private infinity pool overlooks a jungle ‘amphitheatre’ of constantly appearing wildlife. Every single facility has been considered and is provided to a level of pure luxury. The food, overseen by Prasad, Bawantha and their teams, is superb: the best Sri Lankan and western breakfasts to order, accompanied by really exotic fruit. Dinners were delicious. We enjoyed very much our beach day at KK Beach, accessible by the hotel’s own tuk tuk; returned there for dinner; and throughout were made welcome at KK Beach by duty managers Pathum and Manaka, super enthusiastic factotum Kasun and waiter Supun. The Koggola Lake boat trip, including crocodiles, a serene temple and artisan cinnamon production, was well led by Dinesh - informative, atmospheric and very worthwhile. KK organised for us sunset in Galle Fort (and we recommend for souvenirs going straight to the KK Boutique there) and a transfer to Colombo airport with safe, reliable drivers Sumudu and Sam respectively. Above all, the KK Collection is made by the extremely friendly, professional and proud level of service provided by its people. George Cooper, the owner, is highly visible and provides real community leadership, if we may say so. We thank all his staff, seen and unseen, front of house and backroom support but, as well as the aforementioned, we commend the following who gave us notable service at Kahanda Kanda: duty managers Sujeewa, another Dinesh and Dushan for their warmth, attention to detail and seamless handovers to each other; barman Konara, waiter Sudeep and trainee waiter Meeru - all with bright futures. Simply, thank you all!

United StatesThe 2-3 km road to the hotel is somewhat dodgy and full of potholes, but don't let this deter you.
Kanda Kahanda is an exceptionally special and extraordinary hotel. Spread across 12 acres, it features 12 individual villas, the majority equipped with pools. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the beach scene near Galle, this hotel offers a serene sanctuary where you can unwind and indulge in the extraordinary surroundings. The setting is breathtaking—lotus-laden water pools lead to two covered structures open to the air. One area allows you to relax and enjoy drinks and conversation with the soothing sounds of jazz drifting through the air, while another provides a picturesque spot for breakfast or dinner amidst lush trees. A gorgeous pool is also nearby. The villa was spacious and well-appointed, boasting attractive furnishings, along with an expansive deck area and a delightful pool overlooking a jungle of trees where peacocks roam freely. Additional perks included complimentary morning yoga classes and access to a spa area for massages and other treatments. The staff was attentive, and I must commend manager Dinesh for taking the time to guide us on a 1 km walk of some of the premises, showcasing an organic garden and a variety of fruit trees. This extraordinary place merits the highest 5-star recommendation. It appears some guests choose to stay for weeks or even months—you might find yourself never wanting to leave.

Stunning Villa Kadju, well maintained with amazing private pool and view to treetops. Pool has sun from 9 am to 3 pm. Huge cozy Villa in fresh light blue appearance. Good silent aircon. About 30 minutes by car to reach the nearest beach. Recommendation: Kabalana Beach is most wonderful for swimming and not crowded, hidden away from roadside. Amazing waves.

United Arab EmiratesOnly improvement could have been the wifi in our villa, it worked mainly outside on the deck but didn't work very well inside. The wifi worked fine at the reception and dinner area though. It wasn't a big issue for us, as we came to relax anyway!
If I could give more stars I would. Kahanda Kanda exceeded our expectations, it was absolutely wonderful! It's a perfect hotel for couples and honeymooners: private, amazing service, very friendly and capable staff, absolutely delicious food and drinks, fun activities and beautifully decorated rooms and exterior. You can see there is a real eye for detail at this hotel. They really care about making an exceptional experience for you. All of the staff were extremely professional and well trained. Staff that comes to mind in particular are Rohan and Dushan, but everyone working during our stay was wonderful! We particularly loved the pool at our private villa Kumbuk, the cooking class, the cinnamon experience (we got to harvest cinnamon with a lovely couple who own a cinnamon farm) and all of the delicious dinners and drinks. We will recommend this hotel to friends and we really want to come back soon. Thank you for a wonderful honeymoon, it couldn't have been any better!
