We really enjoyed our star at Liyon’s Rest. We arrived early in the morning after our flight and our room that we booked was not ready yet. The owner offered us a room which was super nice although a bit expensive. However, the place is very nice & the pool is relaxing! Friendly staff and good value for money. A bit outside of the town but you can easily book a tuktuk.

Nothing - the only improvement would be a hand towel in the bathroom to dry your hands. But it was pretty much perfect!

Liyon Rest is so beautiful, it truly feels like paradise! I love how private the huts are, with your own balcony to chill on. The pool is SO nice and so refreshing in the heat. Breakfast was delicious with home made Sri Lankan food - as well as dinner too, great Kottu. Everyone who works at Liyon Rest will do absolutely anything to help you! Such a lovely place to say - stay here if you are in Sigiriya.

This is a lovely accomodation surrounded by nature. We would swim in the pool, watching monkeys, peacocks and birds in the field, the breakfast was very tasty and the owners accomodating. Location is also good and the owners are happy to organize safari or other atractions for you. I recommend booking this place for your stay in Sigiriya!

It’s maybe a bit hard to change because of the jungle around the property, but at some point we had a frog in our bathroom. And there were a lot of big ants. But with the mosquito net, we felt safe and comfortable, so it wasn’t a big deal.

We really liked this place! The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool was amazing! The sightseeings aren’t too far away and easy reachable with a TukTuk. The breakfast and dinner we’ve had were really good! And the stuff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

The place is a hidden gem in sigiriya, away from the main road, very cozy, all among the green and trees with cozy comfortable cottages around. All was very comfortable in the room, good shower, comfy beds, AC. The pool is another big plus, water was clean and warm. You can meet in the morning squirrels, peacocks, lizards, many birds. Very peaceful. The family who is running the place is very carrying and attentive. Sri Lanka Breakfast was very tasty and full. I definitely come back and enjoy more days there.

A few small improvements could further enhance the experience: better dining options for lunch and dinner, a closed wardrobe in the room, improved internet, a shower curtain, and a hand towel by the sink. Additionally, having a locker and an iron would be great additions. These minor upgrades would elevate the stay even more!

Breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, traditional Sri Lankan dishes, and generous portions. The homemade marmalade was absolutely delicious! The property is serene and well-maintained. Lakmal is hardworking, warm, and very considerate—especially when it comes to ensuring the safety of solo female travelers. He provided great assistance with transportation, buying souvenirs, and visiting a certified Ayurvedic spa. Thank you for hosting and providing a safe, clean, and beautiful stay within a reasonable budget!

Extremely friendly & helpful hosts (family run) arranged several Tuk Tuk services throughout our stay & one for a sunrise hike to Lions rock at 5am. My parter is 6 months pregnant & the host including family went above & beyond to make sure she was comfortable. Great traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. The cabins are well kept, clean & offer a mosquito net, fully immersed in nature & beautiful gardens. Nice local restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. We would definitely return if we visit the area again in the future

We found Liyon Rest to be an excellent place to stay if you are visiting the cultural triangle. Strategically located in close proximity to many local shops restaurants and cafe and at a short distance from Lyon Rock. The place is surrounded by nature and you will find peace and serenity after a day exploring. The breakfast was amazing and generous with different daily options. We chose to have dinner at the hotel twice and the food didn't disappoint with a great taste of traditional Srilankan food. The place feels very homely and the owner and his family will do their best to make you feel welcomed and attentive to all your requests. We wanted to do an authentic Ayurvedic massage and the owner, Lakmal, arranged this to us and offered to drop and pick us up when we were done. All in all a great experience that I would certainly recommend .

We truly had the best time in Liyon Rest Sigiriya and we would recommend this place 1000%. The room was wonderful with everything you need, the food as well (breakfast+dinner) and Lakmal was the best host we could ask for. He helped us to arrange everything from acitivity to transport and we felt really comfortable and save at his place.

The WiFi wasn’t great, and neither was the shower pressure, but they weren’t big issues for us.

Lakmal and his family were wonderful hosts. They helped to plan a safari trip and also some taxis to the local scenery. The breakfast and dinner were both delicious. The bedroom was very comfy and the location was perfect.

We have stayed here for the second time and we brought our family with us this time, so glad we returned Lakmal, his family and staff are lovely and welcoming. Lakmal organised a safari for us all and the home cooked food is amazing. Highly recommend this resort
