The noise of the airconditioning was loud so this could be better.

The breakfast was delicious and more than we could eat.

- the manager is very condescending, very rude towards guests, projecting his mistake to us - while staff is mainly nice, they often forget breakfast items like coffee/tea, and when we ask for it, it will take them 30-40 minutes to prepare it - staff’s English is very limited - no one mentions online that some rooms (eg. ‘villa - annex’ here on booking) is not at the actual hotel, but a 15 minute walk away on the beach in the sand (no lights at night) - in this ‘second hotel building’, the wifi doesn’t work well - the beach is not the cleanest

+ rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and relatively clean + breakfast items were very tasty + you can always get beach towels and your drinking water bottle filled up + the beach/restaurant area is lovely + beautiful and well cared for plants everywhere + overall, food appears to be very hygienic and well seasoned too

No mention of the distance to the breakfast/reception area.

My wife and I booked the 2 bedroom house. It’s a 2 min Tuk tuk or a walk on the beach to the reception. It was clean, quiet and spacious. It’d be a great spot with friends for a few days as you’re so close to the beach and you have 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen and an outside chill area. We’d definitely stay here again.

By the photos and location on booking we had the ideia that we would be at beachfront, and that was not the reality. We still stayed near to the beach, and everything was okay. Just a warning.

They could communicate better. We were placed at the villa, which is a bit further on Nilaveli beach than the main hotel and restaurant, but we didn’t know that when we booked. We loved the place so in the end it didn’t really bother us, but it would be nice to know what you book for and which location it will be. The villa is still 100m away from the beach so really close and walking distance to the restaurant and main part of the hotel, but if you expect to be right at the beach than this can be a little disappointing. It wasn’t for us, but I get it that other people may find this a bit misleading. The staff is really nice and kind but they could improve their communication towards their customers :-)

Absolutely gorgeous aesthetics, the atmosphere in and around the hotel and restaurant are incredibly relaxed. The villa where we stayed (mind you: this was not part of the main hotel but at an accomodation of the hotel that’s a bit further on Nilaveli beach) was beautifully decorated as well, and really spacious. The bed was comfortable and we loved spending time at the beachbeds at the restaurant. Breakfast is great too. The staff really tries their best to manage everything and keep the place nice and clean.

Because it’s the best place to stay it attracts a lot of day guests wishing to pay for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and beach beds … would selfishly prefer if the arrangements were reserved for hotel guests only .

It was a pretty expensive hotel, and we paid 215 dollars per night with breakfast. Also cleaning in the room is not so good, like in all hotels from Sri Lanka. The service in the restaurant was pretty slow, but we knew this from the others' review, so we ordered the food from time. Also, being a cottage hotel, you can hear all noises from the other rooms.

It is a lovely location on the beach, very nice and carefully designed with friendly stuff. The room was with front view of the sea, we could see sunrise from our balcony. The food was also very good, we ate all the meals in our hotel.The water from the sea is very clean, the beach is sandy and the water has perfect temperature. The beach is not crowded, not so many hotels and restaurants, so it is perfect if you are looking for a quiet location.

Even tho the staff was really friendly and nice the atmosphere in the Hotel was not as nice as we expierenced it in other accomodations we stayed in Sri Lanka. The room is very small and in general the price is to much for what you get.

This place is located directly at the Nilaveli Beach which is a dream. Not a lot of people and very quiet. They have lots of beach beds to relax. The owners wife has a very good eye for the interior design and it‘s really aesthetic. The food was also very good. The staff was friendly.

It’s a bit tired and expensive for what you get. Breakfast was good but they only provided half of what was needed and you had to queue with other guests from 8am, even though it was often late coming out, otherwise it would all be gone by 830 as there wasn’t enough. The staff obviously don’t have a good environment or manager as all seem nice enough but no one went above and beyond or were willing to do any requests at all. Warning they only take cash and charge more than the booking.com price to process card transactions then there very difficult about it. Lastly the room was ok but more on the shabby than chic side and very noisy, could hear everything happening next door. I wouldn’t stay here again, something about it just didn’t feel welcoming, it’s a shame as great location.

The room was strangely designed with a loft and a wooden ladder that was taking lot of space in an already small room. I stubbed my toes several times on the ladder.

The food was well prepared and tasty. The prawn salad was particularly good.

The service is friendly, sometimes maybe too friendly, and sometimes just super, super slow. We did not mind, as we are on vacation. But I would understand people that would be bothered by this … Would be nice to play music at the beach//sun beds. Would be nice to do more about the crows trying to steal food.

Super Beautiful hotel, with lots of attention to detail, beautiful rooms, friendly and welcoming service, amazing food, especially the bruschetta and easy access to good diving centre (next door). We really enjoyed our stay at Memo’s.

After 9pm is all dark, no lights in the “garden” for a drink, you can only go in your room. Inside is too dark because of a new wall built very close to the resort. Staff very kind, maybe sometimes too much. At the check out, we waited a lot of time for a change of 8 LKR (0,027 USD….) when they could let us go. The restaurant is expensive.

The private beach is amazing, calm and comfortable. Beautiful style inside.

The food outside of breakfast is nice, but expensive for sri lanka. If you are looking for authentic kottu there are places nearby.

Incredibly relaxing place, with gorgeous decor that make it feel cool and cosy. Situated on the beautiful nilaveli beach, and next door to amazing diving services it's an ideal location. Staff were attentive and helpful, but not too much. Breakfast was tasty. A great place to relax.

The encounters with the staff felt a bit ‘awkward’. We strongly believe that all of them had good intentions, but it felt like we were in an English class role play at times, a specially with the manager. The hotel was quiet when we visited. When sitting in the restaurant area, it took 2 hours before the staff would come to you. Price at the property for drinks and food are outragious for Sri Lanka.

The details in the hotel were spot on. Great eye for detail. Our room was comfortable with quite a lot of decoration. Our room offered a beautiful balcony and a strong AC. We had a view to the beach on the side of the balcony. The entrance of the hotel is beautiful and full of colourful touches. The neighbours are building a large white resort. These views might be blocked in the future. We liked the day beds close to the beach and the great breakfast with a mix of typical breakfast items and local touches.

Fantastic location right on the beach. Great rooms and decor. Staff were incredibly helpful. They made us the best crab, prawns and Sriracha Lankan curries dinner of our trip.

Rooms were a little on the small size though our 1st floor room had a mezzanine space where we could put luggage and clothes.

Amazing location right on the beach. A real eye for detail in the design of the space, everything created for pure chillout. Plenty of shade if you wanted it on the large double bed sized divans. Order up a cocktail, take a dip in the ridiculously warm ocean 30 metres away - what’s not to love?

The bedrooms are noisy and loud, because are built in thin wood, so when somebody walk you can hear this like he is in your room! There was also a strange animal in the bathroom who eat our soap😳 The keys of the door doesnt work well, everytime we keep 10 minutes to open the door.

The lady/girl who seemed to be in charge desperately needs some customer service training. The worst customer service I had in Sri Lanka during a 4 week stay. It’s a shame as the other members of staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be.

Great location on the beach. Lovely designed rooms and restaurant/lounging area. Excellent breakfasts.
