Great location straight on the beach with spacious rooms and facilities. Staff were very friendly and attentive to whatever you may need. Would highly recommend.

There are only a couple of points that keep this rating from being a 10. First: there were many, many mosquitos in the room, such that we wondered if they had a hidden entrance or nest in the AC unit. Perhaps some attention could improve the problem. A prevalence of mosquitos is not unexpected in a tropical location, but the issue was heightened due to only the double bed in our triple room having a mosquito net. In the end we and our child all had to squeeze into the double bed with the net to get decent sleep, and this was a bit crowded. Second: there was a fair amount of trash washed onto the beach in front of the resort every day as well as a lot of litter in the greenery adjoining the resort (the grounds itself are kept very clean). This is certainly not the resort's fault, rather a symptom of an enormous international problem, and can also vary greatly according to weather patterns. We have traveled and seen enough to know this. Still, a bit of regular attention on the staff's part in this area would go a long way. Perhaps this is something they do during the peak season -- we were there in the low season of February, the whole beach was nearly empty and there was only a small staff maintaining the resort. We ended up taking it on ourselves to spend a little time consolidating trash into one heap off to the side two of the days we were there in order to enjoy the beautiful beach even more.

Wonderful property with beautiful landscaping and its own extremely inviting beach area with loungers, shade, swings, tables etc. You can roll out of bed, walk a few steps and watch the sun rise. There js good AC and hot water and a yummy generous breakfast -- ask for the pancakes with chocolate or kithul (palm) syrup. Friendly, laid back but attentive service.

the beachfront was lovely and so are the rooms, they have prepared my friend’s room excepionally good for their honeymoon. staff are nice as well, they gave us everything we needed.

During the low season in September there was not much to do, except sunbathing and scuba diving. Wifi didn't work so well, but even our prepaid Hucth 4G was very slow.

Location at a quiet beach during the low season. The cottages were in an extremely beautiful garden. The staff helped us to find a transport back to Colombo. The staff was very nice and attentive. We really enjoyed our 4 day stay.

Some concerns about cleaning in toilet.

The location has direct and close access to the Eastern Sea where we could easily enjoyed the Sun rise every morning. The staff are friendly and try their best to give us fullest assistance when needed.

Direct access to beach from the backyard. Had a nice time...Along the beach, there are restaurants and bars...You can sit there over the night and listen to the sounds of the waves. I had a very nice experience.

We found the evening meal information a bit confusing and didn’t find a good restaurant nearby. This is a minor problem though compared with all the positive things.

The owners were so welcoming and helpful and tried so hard to give us a perfect stay. The location is amazing and we had an excellent room. Thank you.

we stayed at Mithra for 1 day and they made us feel like home. rooms are clean.. staff is so caring.. and the chef has some amazing skills with food. We had srilanka rice and curry and it was delicious. This property is at beach and you have nice swings and seating area at the beach. Happy to have stayed with mithra

Sand on the foot coming into the tile paved room floor. There could have been a small transition area paved with stones and installed with a bib tap to clean foot before enter into the room.

The place was very good and well maintained. Friendly young staff, but they need little more training on the job. However, they attended all requests promptly.

Didn't like the mould in the bathroom/shower. Went to the restaurant the first night for dinner and waited 15 mins with staff talking to what seemed like locals. Ended up leaving and going to a restaurant on the beach. Only half a roll of toilet paper supplied. Had to ask for more. Separately asked for some soap but it never arrived. Soap that was there originally had been wet and the paper stuck to it. Had to pick it off. Beach bar was never open during our stay.

Liked the nice location, comfortable bed and good air conditioner. Beach kept clean in front of the resort with good lounging options. Lovely gardens.

The cleaning could be better. The bathroom and bedsheet were a bit old and worn out. There was a water boiler in the room but no coffee or tea facilities.

Our host Rashan was amazing! Very welcoming and making sure we had everything we needed! He helped us with some extra cleaning of the room, a great (requested) Sri Lankan breakfast en even taking Euro’s instead of national currency. Thank you for you hospitality and great service! Location is A+ on a beautiful green resort.

Rooms could look better with some colour. Not a huge deal but just felt it was too much white in this colourful place.

The seaview room is not worth it, you can't hardly see the sea, and the porch is overlooking the restaurant. Reserving tours/transport etc throught the hotel was a struggle.

The beachfront of the hotel was very nice, the best of Nilaveli brach. The garden is pretty with lots of flowers and showers for after the beach. The service was kind, specially Pragash.

At night small animals will find a way into the beach cabin, so we had cockroaches, spiders and ants in the room… not hygienic. The food at this place is good but you have to ask for your curry in the morning for the coming night, otherwise they don’t make it. Also there was a wedding at this place. When there is a wedding, the restaurant is closed, so you will have to walk to another beach place to get some food. An average meal is around €5,- to €10,-. The tour to Pigeon Island is very expensive: €120,-/2 person. You can not snorkle at the beach directly in front of the resort, there is only sand and waves.

The staff was helpful, but a bit slow. Breakfast was ok, but could have been better. We haven't tried the restaurant, it was always empty for the dinner. Lots of birds steeling food and making noise. Not so comfortable to be in the area. They also burned the trash, lots of smoke. We used to have our meal at the nabours places. But for overnight, recommended. It was quite.

The room was nice with a beautiful garden view. In the room was everything you need for a few days. Hotel is straight on the beach. The beach was very nice. Everything in the hotel is a good value for money, but don't expect high quality. Location good, but the beach is quite, not so many restaurants or other hotels. Not so much to do in the area. Only overnight, eat somewhere close by and enjoy the beach. 30min tuk tuk drive to Trincomale for ATM or temples.

It is not perfect yet, but we still enjoyed it very much. Some nuances: the faucet was rusty and wiggled around, there weren’t many places to put your stuff, etc. And be aware that this beach has crows gathering at night.

It is right on the beach, which hardly had any people, but also close to some places to eat. The beach was nice and clean, no trash, also sunbeds with shade are good to have. They provide breakfast, but lunch and dinner is also available. The garden is beautifully maintained. Room cleaning is done when you ask for it. The hosts are very kind and help with anything.
