AustraliaAlthough the staff were very friendly, they weren’t always easy to track down. The front desk was rarely manned, and the contact number for the accomodation has been disconnected. This was an issue when our lights and a/c went out and we couldn’t find the staff to assist us. The chat function on booking.com was helpful but their responses were often very delayed. The bathroom also had quite a lot of ants on arrival. We used our own bug spray which seemed to help.
We loved the location of this accomodation. It is less than a minute walk from the beach and close to lots of restaurants and cafes. The lay out of the room was lovely. We had a little sitting area outside our room over looking the beach. The bed was comfy and clean too.

SwedenIt was a bit expensive for what you got. Staff wasn’t always around, they tried but couldn’t manage. Also they didn’t have anything to sell, no drinks, water or food during the day. It looked more luxurious than it was. It was still good but too expensive for the facilities.
The room was comfortable. De bed was very good and it was amazing to have a balcony with a beach view. Good breakfast and it was nice to hear to waves when you lay in bed.

ItalyThe place is about to equip the rooms with AC, which I missed a little bit, but I have no regrets; by the way, I knew it when I booked and the fan did its job perfectly. The bar could be equipped better. For the rest, all top.
It was a very pleasant stay. The staff was super kind, and the breakfast was excellent every morning for a powerful start to the day. I definitely will come back. Thanks for the great holidays.

The position is amazing, just a few meters from the beach and 15 min by walking from the city center. I took individual surf classes from their school and it was great. I had the pleasure to meet very nice people especially Shashu, after a few classes with him, as begginer, i was able to stand a ride small waves. Also the other guys of the staff were very nice to me.

United KingdomInformed them prior of my arrival time of 1pm (check-in is 3pm). They acknowledged but when I arrived the first words were "check-in is at 3pm" they stated to get tgd room ready after I arrived, nobody was in it previously. On 1 of the nights I was out at a wedding functions in the Marriott hotel, got back after 11pm to find the main entrance door locked!! Had to ho via the back and kick the gate open to get to my room. Texted to one of the staff by WhatsApp and he basically said it can't be locked, we never lock the front door, effectively calling me a liar!! I sent him a picture of the locked door. Following morning they say they looked at the camera footage and saw a lady who was in the room next to mine lock the front door and it wasn't their fault...... Basic like tell all staff not to lock front door lor better still remove the key from the front door so it can't be locked, or put a sign on the back of the front door informing guests not to lock the front door, very basic methods but none had been considered. They have a dog there which barks at night quite frequently, sleeps right outside the two downstairs rooms.
Good size room, good AC. Bathroom spacious and all clean. Very close to the beach. Good price for that time of year.

NorwayI am sensitive to sound so I did not like the everyday noise from the resturant and other. Weligama is a busy place so it is also expected that there are more sound. It depends what you are looking for. I also found the room a bit dark.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and nice. The location is perfect if you want to have easy access to Weligama beach for surfing or other. The owners are very nice and do what they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I really loved their common area where they serve good coffee and there are nice places where you can sit and work. It is also a nice place to stay for a few days to get to know new people and familiarise with Weligama.

United Arab EmiratesCons: Air Conditioning Issues – The AC is aimed directly at the bed, making it uncomfortably cold at night. The fan option was not working. There are no proper blankets, just thin sheets, so we had to wear extra layers to sleep. Bathroom – This was the biggest downside. The bathroom had visible mold and earthworms in the shower every day (which we, unfortunately, got used to—but still, not pleasant). Minimalistic to a Fault – The room was so bare that there was nowhere to hang towels, no chairs or small surfaces to place belongings. A few hooks in the bathroom and bedroom would make a big difference, along with a squeegee to dry the floor so guests don’t have to ask for one every day. Misleading Photos – The hotel photos suggest that all guests can enjoy a sea-view breakfast, but it turns out that’s only for those who book specific rooms. This was a bit disappointing. Suggestions for the Owner: Please invest in the bathrooms—fix the mold, improve the showers, and increase water pressure. Consider adding small but essential amenities like towel hooks, a chair, and a cleaning tool for the bathroom. The staff are fantastic, and they make up for many of the shortcomings, but a few improvements would go a long way in making this a much better stay. Would I stay here again? Probably not, unless some upgrades are made. But if you're aware of the downsides and just need a simple place by the beach with kind staff, it could still work for a short stay.
We stayed at Moody Moon in Weligama for a few nights, and overall, it was an okay experience—nothing more, nothing less. Since I had read other reviews beforehand, I came prepared with low expectations, which helped. Pros: Great staff – The best part of the stay. They were incredibly kind and helpful, checking us in late at night and even allowing a late checkout, which we really appreciated. They also provided fresh towels and cleaned the room midway through our stay when requested. Location – Right by the beach, which is a big plus.

United KingdomThe mosquito net has never been washed, same for the bed cushion. The mattress and bed was terrible. No shelves or hooks in the bathroom. The room is incredibly hot even with the 2 fans provided. The windows open but have no screen to prevent mosquitos. All of the windows could do with a clean. The staff are great but need the owner around and more training and seem to be stretched between this hotel and somewhere else, they did their best but at that price it's not good value. Clearing breakfast dishes away after breakfast. Cups and plates need properly washing before the next use. The bathroom light is pointless with a 5 watt bulb.
The staff were fantastic and helpful with what they could. The location was ideal for us.
