Still some teething issues as it’s a new property, but nothing major and staff rectified anything we pointed out immediately. Plus it all has a very new fresh feel to it. The small pool isn’t heated so it can be cold depending on time of year, but it’s still a nice option to have.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. We stayed in the executive suite which was very spacious, with amazing views given the floor to ceiling glass windows. The food is very good, with choice of local and other foods. Their cocktails are delicious also! The staff are very attentive and happy to help. The location is outside the centre of Ella, but still easily accessible by a quick tuk tuk. We preferred it compared to the busy strip in the centre of town.

We stayed in the junior suite with pool although we didn’t get to use the pool that much as it was cold… it was a lovely view and wonderful taking a dip every now and than. The rooms were like cute little cabanas. super cozy! The staff were very welcoming and helpful with everything.

Rooms need soundproofing. Pool was well hidden and disappointing. No alcohol served in the restaurant despite the bar area having a display of bottles! A little further out from the centre of Ella than we thought.

Lovely friendly staff, there was a lot of effort put into the design.

Had to walk outdoors and climb several steps to our room .would have been uncomfortable with pouring rain. Fortunately we encountered only a slight drizzle.Room size was barely adequate for 2 medium size suitcases and 2 carryon luggage pieces

Breakfast was good. The Sri Lankan curries was excellent. The western food allso looked good though we ate only Sri Lankan dishes. Bed was comfortable. Staff was courteous and very accommodating with any requests we had.

I booked a 5 person suite for myself and my family; however our booking said we had only book for two adults. So I contacted the manager in advance to resolve this. We had to pay an extra 20,000 LKR per night for my children to have a mattress in the floor with no bedside tables on a piece of cut out old dirty carpet with damp on the wall next to where they lay their head. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style with empty pots of dried old food. There were adequate members of staff to refill the empty pots but they stood idle ignoring the lack of food for customer. They do not serves bottled water at breakfast, or waiter service for tea of coffee (which was served in a hot pot that was stewed ) We any had two towels in the room and on our 2nd day are room wasn’t make up and we had to complain eventually he was done around 6 pm. This is a two star hotel and definitely not five star, worst we had stayed in in Sri Lanka even the Airbnb which was less money was much better with excellent breakfasts. I cannot believe this hotel has five stars and I think someone should definitely take a look at the standard.

The room we stayed in wasn't what we expected. It was way too small, and you can't open the window shutter otherwise, people from the restaurant would see you (no privacy). There's also no view from the room, and I felt that the price was too high for just a cabin without a view. I'd rate this place low because of value for the money. The price here is higher compared to another hotel with magnificent views and double the size. If they lowered the prices, then they would get a higher rating from me. On a positive note, the staff was helpful and the breakfast buffet is alright.

Much smaller rooms- did not match my expectations of a ‘deluxe room’

Clean and well located hotel, with modern sleek design. Room much smaller than anticipated and pool was also more of a splash pool for children rather than useful swimming pool. Overall nice enough but may be get better value elsewhere

Not so peaceful, quality of stay very dependent on which room you book.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Junior Suite with Private Pool
    • Stayed 2 nights

Its a mixed bag depending on which room you get. The Honeymoon Suite with pool and Superior/Deluxe rooms are constructed of metal beams and wooden panels dropped in (bit like a shed). So there is no soundproofing (see pic for gaps) at all. The location means you can hear conversations in the restaurant and every dropped spoon. We arrived at 3pm and a hotel 100m away was having a karaoke session. It was louder that if i had music on in my room, so we went out. Came back at 9pm and it was still going on. Death wails of a man who appeared to be in considerable pain, echoing around the valley. Even when i was mid shower I could hear them switch to 'Europe - The Final Countdown' - great song, but not the time or the place. I spoke to staff, one said this happens most days, another said it was a party and would finish at 10, if it doesn't they tell the Police, so appears to be a regular occurrence. It kills any relaxing vibe. I appreciate what goes on is not in the hotels control, but you should be aware. Webcam overlooking the private pool/sunbathing area was weird/invasive. I mentioned it and they said 'it was there for our safety' but said they can turn it off? Unsealed Bombay mix next to the bed was strange? Cant quite work out if was left by a guest or was for me? Not the most hygienic. Bathroom tap isn't plumbed in to the adjacent hot water tank (shower is) so not hot water for face/hand washing? No safe in room, and door is flimsy, poor construction in general. We left after one night.

Private pool area. Staff were great.

Loud music from nearby property that luckily stopped by 10.00 pm

The room is beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and with an outside patio. Nice bathroom with great amenities. Pity the bath has the jets to serve as a Jacuzzi but only functions as a normal bath. Would have been a nice addition to the room. The staff are very attentive and helpful and we also enjoyed a great dinner. Can say I had the best curry whilst in Sri Lanka at this hotel.

    Having to leave

From the moment we arrived the staff were nothing but helpful, kind and considerate. We had the honeymoon suite which was perfect with our own pool. Two staff stood out to us the most, Damith and Vishwa are a credit to the business, taking time to listen to our adventures and surprised me with a birthday cake. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

The pictures don’t quite reflect reality. The pool is very small and far from the bar. The restaurant is quite strange, not somewhere we wanted to eat. The rooms are built on top of each other so we could hear the people above moving around and showering etc - was very loud in the mornings.

We booked because we couldn’t find anywhere else with availability in Ella. Good location to explore Ella. The air con in the rooms was good.

The restaurant was extortionate with hidden costs… our meal had to be replaced due to the spicy heat even after asking for no spice. They replaced the meal… and after our complaint finally decided to remove the one meal from the bill… this took a lot of effort.

Has the potential to be a great stay with beautiful accommodation and views

The food options at breakfast OK but the chef making the pancakes/egg was really slow and the pancakes were either burnt or undercooked unfortunately. There was some building work outside which made it noisy sometimes. House keeping didn’t seem to clear away dirty cups in our room. We were staying in the executive villa with our 2 year old and it was lovely, really big and spacious but there is no rail on part of the stairs upstairs which is dangerous with a 2 yr old. The staircase spindles are far apart so our son could have fallen through. The cot that was provided to us was really small and was also broken so it was very wobbly unfortunately. We felt the room was quite expensive in comparison to others in Ella and wouldn’t say the hotel itself is as nice as the room so maybe it is more worthwhile to stay in the more basic rooms. I had a massage at the hotel which was meant to be 1hr but was only 50 minutes and the quality was poor. We had an issue on checkout which left a sour taste though with how it was handled. We left one key card in the room and gave them the other and they claimed they couldn’t find the one in the room so charged us 5000 lkr for one room card which seems extortionate for a piece of plastic. We have never had this before and I found it a bit insulting especially as we had paid to stay in the best room in the hotel. Overall our checkout experience was very negative and they kept us waiting whilst they ‘searched’ for the key, again not some we have ever experienced.

Good views, very peaceful though there was some building work going on at the time of our stay which was a little noisy. Everything was kept clean and staff were attentive. The hotel itself has no lift and quite a lot of stairs. The executive villa is a light airy room and has nice views of the hills. The staff were very good to our 2 year old.
