Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BulgariaThere's constant construction on the site. The noise is unbearable. We were coming straight from Colombo airport, landing at 3 am. After visitng Dambula on the way, went to Pidurangala Rock, and had to get up for Sigiriya at 4.00 am next morning. Considering the killing trip plans, the noise did not affect the kids and they sleept through all of it. But it will deffinately be a great problem for most adults. We understand they want to expand, but may be during this process they should charge less...We odered 4 sandwiches and 4 french fries. The amount of the portions was such that it barely covered the needs of our three kids -age 8,12,15, what was the biggest suprise is that for that (which we were never given anything like a menu or price list) aside from waiting for it almost an hour, we were charged 50$
The area around the pool is beautiful. There's barely anyone around so in a way it feels like a privite pool. The roomas are spacious, nice and clean. The breakfast is great and the guy who serves it saw that we are being considerate with the food, therefore gave us more, this was kind of him.

United KingdomIt’s technically walkable to most places, but at night you’re better off getting a Tuk Tuk as there are many stray dogs and potentially wild elephants.
For anyone looking for a slice of paradise close to Sigiriya rock, this is the place to stay. The highlight of this place is definitely the pool, which feels like an oasis in a desert, and definitely to be made the most of when not visiting Sigiriya or pidurangula rock. Dilan is a really chilled, welcoming host who was easy to contact when needed and happy to arrange a Tuk Tuk, and even allowed me to check out late and use the pool while I waited for my taxi.

BelgiumPro’s: - great location - pool area is beautiful (but not enough beds so uncomfortable if you arrive too late in the afternoon) - pool itself is clean and lovely to swim in - breakfast is very good, dinner is tasty Cons: - barely communication, you have to guess where the breakfast area is and we were surprised they had a restaurant on our second day (no signage, no menu) + if you want info on tours or taxis, the staff is hard to find or communicate with (don’t reply to whatsapp number) - food was tasty but expensive (no menu so no prices) - the arrival was odd, just gestures where to go and again no communication - a 14 year old boy is basically running the hotel (mixing cocktails, taking requests, doing payments, room management) and has clearly been taught to answer any questions or request with ‘in 5 minutes’ to never come back to you (he is clearly overwhelmed with tasks)

NetherlandsThe staff was almost invisible which seems not that bad, but it’s annoying when you do need help with something. The music/bass at the pool was horrible. Much nicer to listen to the tropical birds singing and the beautiful garden loses all calm and relaxation due to the music. People come to relax on holiday.
Beautiful pool and garden with birds. Relaxing area.

United KingdomBathrooms a little smelly but not much they can do about that
Very chill vibe which was nice. Rooms were spacious and nice outdoor space. Perfectly located just a stones throw from Sigiriya’s rock. Have a nice bar area serving fresh juices - for the money we paid I thought it was great value!

United KingdomStaff were lovely but not very present. Had to go looking for someone to ask when we needed something, knocking on doors etc. Pool bar stunning but no one there to serve - we asked if we could buy a drink and were told that the barman was taking a shower and would be back in half an hour... he never came back! Also not offered a drink with dinner which was a bit odd.
Gorgeous setting, lovely pool area, nice room with large bed and fridge to keep water cool. We had dinner and breakfast included both of which were lovely. Staff helpful when you could find them, dinner service very prompt.

United KingdomNot easy to get drinking water, didn't sell any bottled water so had to ask staff who would then disappear for 5 minutes and return with a filled bottle - obviously this is fine but access to a fountain would be better. Bathroom was a little dangerous - slipped and cut toe open Pool bar poorly stocked.
Pool was great, room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. Air-conditioned room. Beautiful setting and a short walk to lots of restaurants/bars/cafes. Good location for the rocks. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

United KingdomThe pool is also rented out for day guests so can get quite busy. They play party/dance music by the pool which wasn't to our taste but that's personal preference. We would have loved a drink on arrival or water in the room.
The hosts kindly arranged airport pick up for us. We enjoyed our stay and relaxing by the pool. If you're happy with a short walk it was easy enough to get to restaurants and Sigiriya rock.

New ZealandThe wifi didn’t work for about half the time we were there and despite looking like they had satellite tv none of that was working either (no major issue on either but looked like it could be fixed easily). The shower in the room had very little pressure and only came around once in three days to do room service (again not a major issue for us). Would be nice to have a restaurant on site but again no major as so many close by! All little things I’m sure they’ll continue to improve over time as it looks like they are making improvements throughout the property. Overall a great place with lovely vibe.
The place has a lovely feel to it. It’s a bit off the main drag but only a 10-15 min walk or a 300 LKR tuk tuk and it means your hidden away in a jungle like setting, that aside from the occasional rooster is very quiet. Rooms are spacious and great air conditioning and the pool is fantastic. There aren’t a lot of rooms so it never got crowded by the pool or noisy. It’s not high-end but that’s also part of the charm. The owners brother also comes around and gives you his WhatsApp number as he runs a tuk tuk service- so super easy to get around. He even took us to Kandy at a very reasonable rate.

United KingdomShower could have been warmer, and there was some blaring music around 4-5pm when people started ordering drinks at the pool.
Beautiful gardens and pool, very peaceful, some restaurants within walking distance. Staff were amazing, so willing to help, would recommend booking any taxis/trips with them directly. They also provided amazing home cooked breakfast and even catered a delicious home cooked evening meal for us when we asked!

AustraliaMake sure you lock your doors as the dogs will head butt the door and try to come in the room. Not the owners fault, just something that happens and to be mindful of.
The staff were lovely. It was very much in nature, so was like staying in a rainforest. Brilliant home made breakfast. Went above and beyond to help organise transport and the like. Cute features by the pool which created an oasis type feel.

Saudi ArabiaThe wifi was very weak ended up using data because it didnt work for us in the room, nor in the common areas. We did not like the bathroom set up - its one large room with no divider between shower and toilet/sink, so water was going everywhere making it very slippery, you need flip flops (provided) to enter after a shower. The bathroom was not well lit and did not meet the same cleanliness as the room did.
To start the location of the stay was very ideal for hiking Sigiriya Lion Rock. The ambiance and the setting of the stay was very green and well kept. It is very relaxing. Our room was very large and the AC worked well, bed was comfortable. The room itself was clean and looked recently updated. We only stayed for one night but was able to get lunch, and it was the BEST Kottu we had in all of Sri Lanka, good home cooking. The hosts were very nice and we felt taken care of. I would say the price aligns with the level of comfort provided in the rooms.
