We are 2 guys and a young woman traveling. When we arrived to the hotel there was a weird guy approaching (he was also staying at the hotel) asking “if we remember him”. We politely told him no multiple times. At some point I told him no and that we weren’t interested in talking to him after which he reacted aggressively. Me and the other guy left the girl alone in the car for a brief moment to talk to the staff and he walked out trying to open the car door with the girl sitting alone inside. We came back and confronted him after which he reacted with regret and apologized. Anyway, this whole incident made the girl very uncomfortable staying at the hotel so we booked another place. The reason we are unhappy with the hotel is that they didn’t deal with the weird guy for us and they didn’t refund us either. It is worth mentioning that the weird guy was a tourist and all the Sri Lankan people we have met have been super nice.

I complained to the hotel and to booking .com, first room we were given, no window, no balcony, no wifi, we were then moved to another very small room with balcony but no wifi, no tv, no hairdryer no hot water to shower, this is not what we paid for, the hotel and booking .com provided us with a room that did not fit description as advertised, we feel robbed and you are cheating. At 8.0pm a member of the hotel staff came to our room to ask us to move to another room, i am 70 yrs old and could not be bothered to get dressed, pack my stuff and move to another room at that time of night and who is to say that the third room would be any different, Robbers.

Construction noise at 7am that shook the whole hotel, no hot water, slow wifi, located in an industrial area, I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again

Disappointing Stay at Port View City Hotel I stayed at Port View City Hotel for one night during my time in Colombo, and unfortunately, my experience was far from ideal. Reception & Service: The check-in process was frustrating. The receptionist was not very attentive and didn’t provide the room keys until I called multiple times. It felt like a lack of urgency and poor customer service, which set the tone for the stay. Room Issues: Upon entering the room, I encountered several problems. First, the lights weren’t working properly, and it took a long time for maintenance to address the issue. The air conditioning unit was old and very noisy, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. The room itself was basic, but the condition of the amenities made it less comfortable than I would have liked. Corridors & Noise: The hotel corridors had a bad smell, which was unpleasant and didn't make the hotel feel welcoming. Additionally, the hotel is located near a factory area, so the noise from the surrounding factories and traffic was constant and disturbing, particularly during the night. Conclusion: Overall, my stay at Port View City Hotel was disappointing. The lack of proper service at check-in, the noisy and outdated air conditioning, and the unpleasant smells and noise from the surroundings made it hard to enjoy my time there. While the room and bathroom were clean, the overall experience didn’t match the expectations for the price.

Positive Aspects: On a positive note, the room and bathroom were clean, which was a relief given the other issues. The cleanliness was the only redeeming quality of the hotel.

The hotel is ideally located in the Heart of Colombo, close to everything (main streets, train station, bus, supermarkets, etc). The staff is very nice. The WiFi works very well. It is clean. There is a kettle so we could make tea in the room. We will definitely come there again when we will be back in Colombo.

The place was a little noisy especially in the mornings

The place was very close to the Colombo Fort train station. The room was clean and the ameneties were perfect. It came with a nice little dresser, some drawers, and a mini fridge. There was also a little safe for precious belongings. The staff were very helpful and responsive and helped us out when we wanted to go to the roof or come back inside at odd hours.

We directly came from airport , our checkin we made at 10.00. The door was closed and nobody responded for tje calls. Very bad experience!

it was an excellent property in side the bussiest Colombo city. one can never expect a hotel inside Pettah. You get five star amenities for an exceptionally cheaper price. easy access to bus and train. very friendly staff, one i really liked was Mr. Irfan, very friendy. for Solo or Family stay its a wonderful place. They have a clean and tidy restaurant.
