Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

GermanyI don't have a comment
The two welcoming hosts surprised me with their friendly and attentive manner. They were very helpful. I was driven to yoga class every day by tuk-tuk. If I had any questions, they did their best. The food was a delight. I will book this peaceful homestay again on my next visit. Thank you very much, Günter.

RussiaRanjith and his wife Sanjee were the friendliest hosts. We booked it last minute and arrived very late yet Ranjith met us and gave us some welcome hot tea. Sanjee asked us personally what we would like for breakfast and made a delicious one. They are both just very very sweet and kind people that would help you with everything. They really do their best to make you feel at home. We asked if we could keep our medicine in their fridge and it wasn't a problem for them at all. They also can give you some useful advice about where to go and what to see in Mirissa or nearby. So if you are an open person looking for a stay with a nice family, this is a great option.

NetherlandsRanjith and Sanjee are the loveliest people and they will do anything to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. We could ask anything and they tries to solve it, even if we had a special request about driving a tuktuk;-). Sanjee is a great cook and would definitely eat here instead of in the overcrowded town. And Ranjith will drive you anywhere for very reasonable prices if he has the time! We were sad to leave and would really recommend staying here!!

Canadathe property was in a nice rural setting close to town without the noise. Clean comfortable room and bed. everything in the bathroom worked and had hot water though most people won’t use it with how warm the climate is. Sanjee and Ranjith were both extremely friendly and helpful without being pushy. We stayed for 2 nights and booked a whale watching tour through a company they recommended. Saw lots of whales and dolphins. The Sri Lankan breakfast Sanjee provided was really good with hoppers, lots of fresh fruit and even a loaded garlic omelette as both of us were getting over a cold. She also made us special tea to help. Told of local walks where we saw water buffalo, peacocks, lots of birds etc as well as a monitor lizard as we ended up walking around the lake. Plus monkeys in the trees at and beside there place. Ranjith gave us free rides in his tuk tuk a few times and showed us some other sights to as well as gave us a ride to the bus station. I’d recommend to other travellers primarily based on the couples friendliness and nature around.

United KingdomThe couple that run it are very very lovely people. In my opinion, that’s what makes a great stay. Not just facilities. They also made delicious breakfasts. We’ve been in Sri Lanka 2 months and I originally have family in India so you can trust my review then I say the food was excellent here when elsewhere in the country it can be a bit average. Ask for the tomato curry and hoppers for breakfast :)

United KingdomNothing! It was perfect :)
Sanjee and Ranjith were the most welcoming hosts. They made us feel so comfortable and at home. We particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfasts we had every morning and how we could watch monkeys, birds and other wildlife from our seats. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Main Street in Mirissa but Ranjith was kind enough to give us lots of lifts in his Tuk Tuk. We had a lovely, relaxing time and highly recommend a stay at Ranjith Guest. We hope to return someday soon!

South KoreaLiterally nothing! I should've booked for longer days. Hard to leave here!
The best ever! I can't recommend highly enough! I felt soooo lucky to stay here Ranjith's Homestay. I could finally eat and sleep well here like home. Sanjee and Ranjith are such kind and lovely people. It's more than hospitality. They are such geunuine and warm-hearted people. I will remember them and their homestay as Sri Lanka. I have to mention this! Sanjee is best cook!!!! Believe me! So you should not miss the chance to try her food. I kept coming back home to have her dinner! You can ask any kind of dish you like! I had chicken curry and fish! That was the best food that I had in Sri Lanka. Of course, I enjoyed all the moment of having Sri Lankan breakfast! That's the best as well. She makes all the ingredients at home. Everything is home-made and organic. So, I tried cooking class with Sanjee. It was an amazing time of learning her knowledge about ingredients and skill for cooking. I truly loved the time!!! Also, I love this local neighborhood. Beautiful trees, delightful sunshine and breeze are always there. Real local people are living around here. It takes 10 mins to beach by slow walk, which I enjoyed the most. Not that far but still could feel quiet local area. I liked everything about Ranjith's Homestay. They are my friends! I will be back for sure!!!

United KingdomWe loved everything.
This is the best homestay we have stayed in. Sanjee and Ranjith were such lovely kind hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. We loved the cookery course we did with Sanjee and ate our curries by candle light- very romantic. Our room was clean and we had fresh flowers delivered to our door every morning. The breakfasts were amazing! So varied and tasty. We booked for 4 nights and stayed for 6. We were sad to leave. Thank you to Sanjee and Ranjith for all the lovely chats we had and for making our stay so wonderful and memorable. We hope to return one day.

Switzerland-
The best hosts on our srilanka-trip! Both of them are so welcoming and warm people! Sanjee made us the best breakfast and Ranjith drove us with his tuktuk wherever we wanted to go. They help you with all you need and speak good english so it was very interesting to talk with them. They do a wonderful job and you can feel that they love what they do! The room was clean and the garden is lovely! The location is great also if you are by feet. Thanks Sanjee & Ranjith. Me and my mom enjoyed it so much and we will never forget you!

Sri Lankan Homestay at its best. Ranjith and Sanjee take care of all your requests. Although a little away from the Center, you live in a typical Sri Lankan neighbourhood. And the best is, that Ranjith is a TukTuk Driver and brings you free of charge to Mirissa Beach and can pick you up from nearby destination.

ColombiaEverything was really good.
Sanjee and Ranjith are amazing hosts! I liked that they offered rides to the beach or places around Mirissa at no price for the guests, as the place is around 15-20 minutes walk to the main road and it could be hard to walk under the strong sunlight and heat. Sanjee cooks delicious food. The house is beautiful and it is in a calm area. WiFi and AC worked really well. A really nice place to enjoy Mirissa and rest. The room was also super clean.

EstoniaNothing really.
We (family of four) really liked the warm hospitality of the hosts. They were always very kind and helpful and very easy to talk to. Also we liked the special breakfasts and dinner, which was absolutely delicious. Personally I liked the morning walks around the village and rural area. As the guest house was about 1 km from the busy main street, you could see all kind of animals, birds and other wildlife during the walks. It was really liked visiting a zoo.

United KingdomThere was nothing we disliked about our stay
We had a fabulous stay with Sangee and Ranjith- I’d really recommend their guesthouse for a Sri Lankan family experience. They were so kind and welcoming and the breakfasts were delicious. The guesthouse is on the edge of Mirissa in a beautiful, quiet, semi rural location surrounded by other Sri Lankan homes. It was a 10 min walk into town or Ranjith would take us free of charge in his tuktuk. We also did a cooking course with Sangee which we throughly recommend. This is the place to stay in Mirissa!

They are a loving family who love taking care of their guests and provide what they want. They helped us rent a scooter, breakfast was yummy and Sanjee also prepared us dinner one night, which was amazing. We definitely recommend this place if you want to feel like you have family in Sri Lanka.
