Noisy neighbours, old fashioned

Good location 5 min from bus station, nice english speaking host and owner, not a sun side, green view

We couldn’t easily find the hotel, but after some time the host came and picked us up from our current location. The location is not the best one, since the uphill and the stairs to reach the place are demanding enough. Still, it’s not that far from the center! Our room was a little dusty, with this typical smell that every room in Sri Lanka has.

The host and his relatives are very smiley and friendly! He kindly offered us blankets and towels. I think someone can experience gem cutting or related processes with him, but we unfortunately didn’t have the time. Upstairs there is a nice balcony with a big table and a small bookcase that offers a big range of books that someone can choose to read over the evening!

1. Mosquitoes. 2. The fan provided wasnt giving enough air. 3. Minimum of a hook behind the door to hang the towel would be nice. 4. Pillows were hard for my liking.

The mosquito net does not fit the bed. Dogs were yelling at the evening and night. Food was quite more expensive than in town (twice the price) and not in quantity. The budget room has no view.

Rooms might deserve a renovation Awful smell out of the bathroom sink (and can't close the bathroomdoor from the outside) Sadly no scooter rental on point. They recommended us a place but the scooter was the worst we had throughout 3 months all over the country

Nothing to complain but they didnt accept card payment at that moment but i think it was a temporary issue. But better to call and check before arrival.

Clean and value for money and friendly staff, it is close to Rathnapura Main Bus station and Rathnapura Center. More convenient for short staying.

very friendly host that took us on a tour to the gem mines and the gem museum and showed us the town. He knew a lot about gems so the tour was very interesting. He even drove us to the busstation when we left. The place also has a very nice view.

There is nothing they could have done better I had a fantastic experience staying here.

I arrived in the morning before my room was ready and before contacting the owner in the hope that I would be able to have a tour of a gem mine and market and buy some gems with an expert! I was very lucky and the owner helped me with the request and I had the most incredible time. The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the mountains. They were very accommodating and I had a great dinner there. Overall had a fantastic experience staying here. The next time I come I will come back to stay here as they also offer a gem-cutting course and the staff were incredible!

We booked a non A/C room for the first time in Sri Lanka and it was terrible. Perhaps our worst so far! Lots of mosquitoes in the evening. The bathroom was stinky and there were several cockroaches roaming around in the night. The layout of the room was sub-par; two single bed were joined together for us (couple). We were so pissed that we shortened our stay and moved to another guest house!

The location was close to the city center but it drew noises of vehicles from the highway.

First impression. I often visit Rathnapura for my business purposes, and I had no any options to choose as the other places are already booked. When I checked in, the receptionist asked me to pay the full amount and he was trying to keep my ID with them. I was wondering and disappointed to experience such things. The only thing I liked was the view and location.

There were many insects in my room and it was very dusty and it was too hot. I couldn’t turn on the fan because the accumulated dust that was in the mosquito net was starting to spread everywhere. I couldn’t sleep all night

We absolutely loved the atmosphere of the hotel. The owner Ratna and the staff are all amazing. They took us to visit a gem mine and also guides us in the gem market. We learned a lot about gems with them. The food was delicious. The rooms were really clean. The quality/ price ratio is really amazing. We will definitely be back here if we come back to this very interesting town.
