Really lovely place to stay. Felt really high up and in the trees so able to watch the wildlife passing through without disturbing it or being noticed. A truly wonderful experience

Nothing, only points for improvement: - enrich and renovate the kitchen a little bit. - the knives were a bit dull. - in the room, it will be good to have a small table. - accommodation access instructions, better with additional photos, so it will be easier to find you on arrival.

Good for short and long-term stays! Clean and spacious room, everything is in place, as well as a clean and well-equipped bathroom, clean and fresh towels and bed linens. Good air conditioning. Good closet with lock by key. Mostly, the room is equipped with everything you need. Amazing views around, jungles, a lot of birds, monkeys from time to time, chipmunks, peacocks, etc. Very relaxing atmosphere on the terrace. Very kind and helpful host and his family live on the ground floor. You can ask for anything (water, order a taxi, and so on) and they definitely will help you. We were not long before Christmas time and they decorated the Christmas tree for us. An amazing breakfast option is also presented. Well-equipped kitchen, refrigerator, etc. - literally you can cook anything you want on your own. Very good Wi-Fi, suitable for remote working without interruptions. In a 10-minute walk, there is a good supermarket - Cargills (fixed price) where you can buy mostly everything, fresh and cheap fruits. Everything else is accessible by tuk-tuk ride or walking along the road. The nearest good beach for surfing is Bonavista, very good conditions, especially for beginners.

Very friendly and welcoming host family - made me feel at home. The home-cooked Sri Lankan meals - both breakfast and dinner - were delicious and filling. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, with good aircon and a small sofa. And a nice bonus to have a small kitchen too. Loved the peaceful location, on a small hill, surrounded by "jungle", but just a short walk/tuk-tuk ride to the beaches and restaurants/cafes. Most of all, enjoyed simply relaxing, working and eating on the large terrace, overlooking the forest canopy.

A lovely air-conditioned room with all amenities, including a kitchen for all yourself. It is peaceful and very reachable to Unawatuna and Galle. I loved taking the short cut path from this place to Jungle beach.

Everything was perfect

We have just stayed at Rock Side for 2 nights and we wish we were able to stay longer. The room is more like an apartment as you have a beautiful terrace area outside, with views into the jungle as well as a kitchen with a fridge and cooking facilities. The room is spacious with TV, AC, good wifi and a really nice bathroom with powerful shower. Tasty breakfast and motorbike rental also available at an affordable cost. We can’t thank the lovely family enough and would recommend to anyone!

This place is hidden in the jungle up hill. If you wanna relax without tourists around, that's the place to be. 30min walk to Jungle beach. The owners wife is a very kind person.

The property is located 15 minutes walk from the main tourist area of Unawatuna. It's an amazing property right in the middle of the jungle. All around is green, monkeys and birds will greet you in the morning. At night it's very quite. The room is big and clean. Is provided with AC and mosquito net. The bathroom is provided with Italian Bidet, a luxury for this country, the shower with hot and cold water. The balcony is big! Next to the room there's a small kitchen and fridge that you can use anytime. Jeewan and his wife and their two children made us feel like at home. They'll do everything to make you feel comfortable. Real and nice genuine Family!! They offer a huge and delicious local breakfast for very small money!! The last day, they gave us breakfast for free as farewell!! They also have motorbike rental facility!! Would have loved to stay here for longer!!!

We were in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks, changed a lot of apartments and we can definitely say that this was the most cozy and homy place where we stayed during our trip. The apartment has a kitchen and large terrace with a jungle view, where you can see monkeys, birds and even lizards. The apartment is walking distance from Jungle beach, where you can meet monkeys and other animals while passing through. And of course the highlight of this stay was the sri lankan style breakfast every morning - very delicious and big portions. We did not get such great breakfast anywhere else. The owners were amazing, very nice and caring family, they also helped with a transfer from airport and every evening asked what we would like to eat at breakfast next morning. Staying at this place you will feel the coziness and friendliness of the lovely sri lankan people. Definitely recommend this place.

This place is so unique and the host family are the nicest people. They will help you arrange transport if you wish, they know a very friendly Tuk Tuk driver. Breakfast is delicious, the host will text you every evening to ask what you wish to eat and his wife will make the best food for you. The room is very clean, shower has very hot water and there is good working AC. The accomodation is on top of a steep hill - very quiet and peaceful. You will se a lot of monkeys and other animals. It is close to Jungle Beach and there is a short cut - so just ask the host for directions. There is also a super market nearby and you have a kitchen with a fridage next to your room. I highly recommend this place, especially because the host family is so kind and welcoming.

A little bit off from the beaches but not too far

It was a really cool place to stay! It was a cozy room with your own balcony out in the jungle. In the evening we saw purple leaf faced monkeys which added to the whole jungle vibe! The owner and his family was also very nice, and they helped my friend that had to go to the hospital due to a foot injury

Beautiful and cozy accommodation with nice hosts. The bar is on a small hill, but any Tuk Tuk can take you there 😁 Every morning you are greeted by monkeys jumping on the trees by the terrace🐒 However, you can hear prayers at night, so I recommend earplugs 🙏 And those breakfast? Awesome

This wasn’t a dislike but just a note that it’s up quite a long path up through the bush. Of course that helps get you away from other houses and the host was very kind to come and meet us at the main road to take us up the path, so it wasn’t a negative at all!

Perfect stay with everything you could want. Location was amongst the bush with a great balcony to sit and admire the surroundings, and the room was great and clean. The host was wonderful and took great care of us. Amazing value for money, would highly recommend.

wonderful apartment occupying the entire second floor, with a beautiful view of the jungle from a huge balcony. very clean apartment with modern renovation, with its own kitchen, large refrigerator and everything you need. every day you can enjoy the singing of birds, see monkeys and other animals. Within walking distance of several beaches, including those with surfing. a special mention should be made of a wonderful family that makes your stay as comfortable as possible by helping in every way. Definitely recommend this place for short and long stops! Thank you for your hospitality to Jeewan ,Sujeewa, Tomasha and Sahas! We will come back soon!

Wonderful quiet place tucked away in the jungle and having a good location in the city. The owner is very responsive, any of my wishes were fulfilled very quickly. They can also prepare brackfast, lunch or dinner, tasty and inexpensive. Very quiet fan allowed to sleep without turning on the air conditioner. Very comfortable large orthopedic mattress. Have place for work on laptop (all day on open air). I recommend this place if you appreciate silence and good service. Glad I found this place:)

Quite a distance from any beach but at least it got you away from the crowds

Peaceful location but a 25 minute walk from the main town up a busy road but you can get a tuk tuk if you don’t like walking and the owners will order you one on pick me if you don’t have it. Short walk to an ATM and supermarket Very close to a bus stop Room was clean and aircon worked well and was quiet. Bed was comfortable and had mosquito net. Big balcony. Could use kitchen if needed. Had a fridge. Lovely owners who were helpful and welcoming
