Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyRock View Rest ist exactly what the name promises, a beautiful accommodation located right above a river that you can see from the room’s balcony. It is a serene location surrounded by gigantic bamboo trees. Also, we were warmly welcomed with a cup of tea.

United KingdomWe had a smaller room downstairs, which could have need a bit cleaner, the shower heater wasn’t working, nor did the Wi-Fi. We saw inside a guest room upstairs which looked much brighter and more spacious
Lovely family, so friendly and interesting in sharing with us. Great breakfast. We’re really helping in arranging a large taxi down to the south coast the next day.

New ZealandThe billing was confusing and not consistent with that listed on booking.com, cost a lot more.Air conditioning that was listed on booking.com was also not evident though we did not need it.
Food was really delicious. Excellent hot water in bathroom shower. Helpful hosts. When one room was discovered to be damp, the hosts happily moved us to a less damp one.

GermanyBecause of the location, it was a bit damp in the room and everything was a bit gloomy. But we could live with that. Unfortunately, there is so much rubbish from the city in the river that we didn't want to go into the water.
We had an amazing experience with Ravi (the owner) and his family. We put together a number of activities with him and agreed on a fair fixed price. This meant we were able to explore a lot in Hatton and the surrounding area and experienced some great things. Rafting, waterfalls, Adams Peak at sunrise. We had breakfast and dinner every day. We were taken to the laundry. The whole family gave us a very warm welcome. Thank you for the great time.

United StatesWe scheduled the room for two nights as we climbed Sri Pada. We didn’t end up ever staying there, only left our belongings and tuk tuk. The owner wasn’t there and we had a very difficult time communicating with the family. Address is not on Google Maps. The name of homestay is slightly different on GM. Hope this helps.
The room is beautiful, on the river.

NetherlandsWe had such a wonderful stay here. First of all, Ravi and his wife were so nice and helpful and served us an amazing breakfast! The location of the hotel on top of the water pools makes for a beautiful view from the balcony and the sound of the running water is soothing. The beds are amazingly comfortable and I had the best sleep here. Loved all the plants and the stairs and would definitely recommend staying here.

SpainRavi and Vasanti are amazing hosts! Their place is unique, located next to a beautiful waterfall in the little rainforest outside of town. The room is big and comfortable with a balcony where to sit and relax with the sound of the water flowing, the birds singing and the monkeys playing. Ravi is also a great communicator and tour guide, he can drive you to the most espectacular attractions in Hatton surroundings, such a te plantations, temples, waterfalls and mountains with his private Tuk Tuk. His wife is very kind and she’s a great cook, you can have breakfast and all the meals at the spot. We had a lovely stay, totally recommended!

United Arab EmiratesThe sight in the walkway to the property isn’t very inviting, but doesn’t matter once you are relaxing in the property itself. Need to fix the shower handle as it removed easily once opened. Lighting of the room can be improved, a lot of light but the wattage may be low to lit up the room fully. Bed sheets can be improved, seems to be clean yet some spots were noticed.
The property is very good starting point if you are planning to do some nature escape as it is along the river, full of green lushes, sound of nature at its finest. Great view in the balcony. Mr. Ravi can help you arrange your tours to nearby waterfalls for a very good price. Bed and pillow is very comfortable, a cure for your tired body after a long day hike. Breakfast is also good.

New ZealandWe liked it all.
A lovely family who really looked after us. We had planned to go to Adams Peak the day after we arrived but they explained how many people would be there so suggested a day trip to a special waterfall and Adams peak the next. We stayed an extra night to do this. We liked that the price for the waterfall day was all inclusive so we could relax for the whole day without any unexpected offers or cost coming up. This included delicious pancakes for our lunch. The waterfall was breathtaking and the whole day was one of beautiful views proudly shown to us by Ravi. We liked our balcony and the view from our room. We enjoyed all of the food made by Vashanti. Ravi and his daughter Madhu have good English which made communication much easier. The brother Puvan was our driver to Adams peak and we felt very comfortable with his driving.

AustraliaFalse advertising. Listed at $95 US. Reduced to $25. Not worth $15. Very basic room and facility. No soap, toilet paper, no aircon, no hot water, no wifi working, no sheet on bed. Dirty musty room. Host had very aggressive argument with neighbors only 10m from our room for 1 and a half hours and then loud talking near our room for another 3 hours until 1230 am. We were afraid and locked ourselves in the bedroom and got a tuk tuk arranged for daybreak to leave this horrible experience.
Nothing.
