My room was in the back and a bit dark, AC, fan and bathroom ok. The 2 rooms in the front have much more light come in. The hosts are a very friendly and speak good English.They can put sometings in de fridge if you want to. Very close to the beach and the road/shops. But still a very quiet place.

No mosquito nets in windows(only at the bed), so you have plenty of mosquitoes in the room. But gekons enter the room too, and they eat mosquitoes ;) If you take a room with air conditioning then there is no ventilation at all, everything is permanently closed and you have to run A/C all the time and open the door to cycle air.

Great localization just 2 min walk to the beach, close to main street with bars, restaurants and shops. At the same time it's a calm and quiet place with a nice patio and parking behind the fance. Amazing beaches all along the cost there, you can walk for hours. Beautiful place. Hosts are very nice and welcoming! Mosquito net at the bed.

What's not to like?!

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. They were determined that we should enjoy our stay. They provided two dinners and two breakfasts, all of which we enjoyed immensely. The bedroom and bathroom facilities were modern and comfortable, especially the mosquito nets! The villa is located right on the beach, and we had fun watching the local fishermen pull in their nets. Our hosts arranged transport when we needed it and advised us on where to go and what to see. The welcome cup of tea we were served upon arrival was most welcome after our long train ride! We had a wonderful stay and hope to return.

Wifi didn’t work for us. We had full bars and router right by the room, but I struggled to get it to do anything. I think we were surprised by the cost of the breakfast, almost as much as the prawn dinner there. Not a huge issue, but just as a note, it was the first accommodation we’ve been at where coffee was charged for (but it was also better so I didn’t mind paying). We had to take a tuk tuk to get to some nicer beaches but not too far, so again, not a major issue.

We were welcomed by three big smiles when we arrived. The room was clean, cool and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The best coffee we’ve had at a stay in Sri Lanka so far.

The family running the place are so sweet and eager to help. They were always there and smiling whenever we were coming and going. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the aircondition works well. Beds are big. The location is good, close to many restaurants. The beach right by the hotel is not so nice, but its only a few minutes walk to a better part of the beach. Bathroom window needs a mosquito cover because the mosquitoes comes in to the bathroom. Would also be nice with some better blankets for the bed. Right now it's beachtowels that barely covered me. Breakfast is good - seemed like there were some options to choose from. Only thing is that it's bit small for someone like me who enjoys a large Breakfast :) All in all a lovely place with good value for money. Its also quiet around the hotel at night.

Downstairs room can be a bit noisy because of early preparations for breakfast and people talking.

Lovely family owned Beach Villa, with basic rooms, just what you need, 2 steps away from the beach. The hospitality of the owners is amazing. My breakfast was included, lovely free tea all day, and the home made dinners were an absolutely a highlight of my stay!

There should be a mop for the wet floor in the bathroom. The shower section is not separated from the rest of the bathroom so the floor gets wet after shower. The floor gets very slippery and it’s quite dangerous.

We had a great stay. Our host was very responsive and wonderful. They were always available when we needed them. It is well located just a few minutes from the beach and restaurants.

I do not usually give reviews but this one I should rate. The staff was really nice with us, they meet us with local Sri Lankan tea and serve us tea whenever we want, without charging us extra, as a sign of welcoming. Also, the room was clean, so the bathroom, we had AC included in price which is a bless as there are a lot of mosquitoes (usually host ask for extra money in order to put on the AC) . Great thanks for the breakfast and the fact that our host made the breakfast even at 12 so they are adapting on your schedule. The couple host are amazing, in the evening we spend time together and they told us a lot about Sri Lanka. Kind people and nice villa! Totally recommend Sasagara Villa!

We loved this place so much that we extended our stay by two more nights! You can hear the waves from your room—it's that close to the beach. The hosts are incredibly welcoming; they greeted us with tea and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The bed was the most comfortable we had during our three weeks in Sri Lanka—huge and cozy! The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the room, bathroom, and spacious covered terrace were all spotless. We also enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Would definitely stay here again.
