Beautiful and quiet property near Dambula. Spacious very clean and comfy rooms and the best hosts! Every morning fresh and delicious breakfast is cooked, they helped us get a motorbike for the day and even drove us to the bus station on the last day. Can’t recommend enough, would definitely stay there again when in Dambulla.

WiFi was sometimes not working good, but I think it depends where are you located from router.

The host were amazing and very attentive. They served us different breakfast every day(instant coffee and tea was every day), first day sandwich with egg, some fruit and papaya juice. 2nd day roti with egg and vegetable mixture inside and ketchup on top, fresh lime juice and fruits. 3rd day potato curry with noodles, fried egg and some coconut salad and every day was excellent. During the evening if you don’t feel like going to the city area which is 40 minutes by walk or taking tuktuk, you can ask the hosts and they will prepare you food of your choice from the menu, we really liked pumpkin curry and spicy beans. We also tried traditional kottu roti there and some fried vegetable egg noodles and everything was tasty. When we spoke on first breakfast with our host we told him of our plan and he offered us an organisation of the trip we wanted to go for, it turned out another guest staying in the hotel (friendly older Catalan gentleman) that sat next to us wanted to do the same trip that day and we got amazing price for tour of Dambulla cave temple, golden temple, my favourite vegetable market (host explained a lot about the fruit and veggies I have never seen before), spice garden with some massage and possibility to buy products, showing us the good view of sigirya lion rock and then taking us to pidurangala rock. It was amazing day with amazing experiences and people and we also got good tour with car price. Next day our host organised safari and we saw many elephants, land lizards, birds and even elephant coming back on the road next to cars. Safari guides also helped us get SIM card on the way back and they were great during our trip. Our host also prepared for us some king coconut to drink in safari park and some waters because it was very hot that day and he seemed really concerned. We got this for reasonable price 26000LKR for 2 people and we had car for ourselves.

The owner is a wonderful and very polite person. He welcomed us with a very big smile and some suggestions for our stay. He helped us to reach the bus station too. His wife is a great cook, we had some of the best food we have ever eaten in Sri Lanka. Delicious and rich breakfast in the morning. The room was simply amazing and perfectly clean. The garden is a little corner of paradise, with flowers and plants. The area is in the countryside, not in the middle of chaos, a very quiet place but very close to the beautiful temples

Only downsides were getting to the location from Habarana station but I would recommend contacting the host prior to arrival to organise a pickup or tuktuk for ease and comfort.

Despite this accommodation being a little far from Habarana station (which is where the train from Colombo arrives), the place itself is fantastic and the hosts were unbelievably helpful! Once I had arrived, my room was given to me straight away - it was very clean, has AC and had a private bathroom which was a wet-room type shower. The bed had a mosquito net too and was fairly comfortable but only had a sheet not a duvet. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were delicious and home-cooked by the hosts. I had a papaya-banana smoothie as part of breakfast and it was so tasty! The host helped organise a driver for the day for my activities at a very reasonable rate and he offered to drop me to Dambulla bus station on my final morning free of charge so I could get the bus to Kandy.

I wasn't able to stay longer.

Wasantha was an incredible host and a fantastic human. He could not have done more to help me enjoy my time in Dambulla and Sigirya from arranging transport to cooking one of the best rice and curries I had had in my month long stay in the wonderful country. I could have not have asked for more and the value was extraordinary. Even with bad weather one day, I was able to work, with strong, reliable internet in a beautiful environment. I would love to stay here again.

Say are Inn was very clean, comfortable with exceptional Hosts! Nothing was too difficult we even had a tuk tuk arranged to pick us up at 6:15am to take us to Sigiriya. If there are no tuk tuks then our host drove us explaining sites along the way. We loved our few days there and you know it’s good when local tuk tuk drivers say he is a good man!!!

They were a beautiful family who made us feel very welcome. We even managed to use their taxi service to go to all the sites in Dambulla before taking us to our new hotel in Sigiriya.

Knob to adjust hot water temp seemed to be broken. Blanket was quite small, could be bigger.

The owner is really friendly. He dropped me off at the bus stop to go to Sigiriya in the morning, and later when I was departing too. Also, helped book a tuk in the evening to go to the Cave Temple. They serve a lovely simple breakfast and gave a bit more too when requested. The room was clean and pretty big. Hot water available. The area is slightly far out, so best to take a tuk to get there from the bus stand instead of walking like I did, especially in the night - the streets are not well lit in the area. But you can always call the owner, he's ready to help.

I extremely recommend this place. The rooms were clean and the food was so tasty. The owner Dulani and his wife are super friendly and helpful with everything you need. He even asked whether we arrived safely to our next destination. We had a great tour with Dulani around the city Dambulla and Sigirya which we loved it. I hope this was not our last time at Sayare Inn.
