Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Sri LankaValue for money is exceptional. The rooms are functional and clean, but where it stands out is location, view, meals and hospitality. Nearby roads are tricky with a low vehicle, but fine with jeep, tuk tuk. They can arrange transport to Sigiriya. Also, no walking around after dark. Elephants are in the area.

SpainIncredible views and location as you are in the middle of the wilderness. Great staff and delicious food service. The rooms aren’t very modern but they are comfortable and clean. Perfect for solo travellers/couples looking for a unique and quiet place to stay surrounded by nature.

ItalyThey should put an air conditioner in the room (there is a fan) cause the humidity inside was very high
Far away from other houses and main streets, this is a nice and peaceful place to stay. We booked the “Villa” so our room had the view right on Sigiriya Lion Rock. The hosts were kind and seems really nice people. They offers you breakfast in the morning for 1600Lkr per person. The place is just 10min walk from Pidurangala Rock, so it’s the best place to stay if you want to visit it.

GermanyThe location is an absolute dream, both Lions Rock (15min) and Pidurangala Rock (10min) are within easy walking distance of the accommodation. The place is absolutely beautiful, especially the garden with the view of Lions Rock and the nature. The best thing though was the extremely friendly family who looked after us. They helped us in the best possible way with all our concerns. The breakfast and dinner that they cook there especially for the guests is really great.

United StatesVery convenient to both Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock. Close View is a bit tucked away. You will need help finding it the first time. But once found the family that runs it are wonderful and very helpful in anything you might need. They gave us a pre-dawn ride Pidurangala Rock to hike to the top for sunrise views so that we might avoid wild elephants that wander around at night, but then we easily walked back in the light. The town itself is half a mile or so away, but a nice walk around the ramparts or a short tuktuk ride. Wild peacocks and a view of Lion Rock accompanied our breakfast on the hotel's little outdoor verandah. Peaceful. Would definitely choose Close View again.

Everything was just perfect. It was the best stay in the whole of Sri Lanka. The homemade food was amazing. The property is located in such an amazing proximity to the Sigriya rock and the nature. You have peacocks on the property. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly and went out of their way to help us.

PolandThe family that owns this guest house is absolutely adorable, they were taking a lot of care of us. The view from the garden is breathtaking - Lion's Rock, peakoks and other animals... The garden is amazing and rooms pretty comfortable, with hot water and mosquitoes net. Food was delicious! Place is very close to both rocks, but quite far away from the touristic centre of the Sigiriya, but it was something that we were looking for :)

FranceDidn't dislike it so per say but it is worth noting that the area where this guesthouse is is well known for wild elephants roaming. You can't walk past 5/6pm and not before sunrise and tuktuk don't really like/shouldn't come by either. They risked getting charged by wild elephants wandering the roads. You can by taxi though!
Absolutely loved this place, the location is unmatched. I had view on the Lion's Rock literally from my bed. The little villas were nestled in a lush, beautiful garden, peacocks going about and you can see the cows grazing from your windows. I loved the outdoor bathroom ! Hosts were wonderful, very helpful and the food is some of the best I've had in Sri Lanka. Had dinner twice and both times were a selection of delicious curries (a LOT of food. I thought they were bringing food for all of the guests but it turned out to be only mine 😅)

RussiaI'd recommend taking the tea over the coffee...
We have stayed one night in the hotel and it was amazing. The staff was very kind and helpful with tips on when and what to visit. They have served a tasty tea when we arrived which was very sweet of the hosting family. The room was clean and had a mosquito net = no mosquito bites :) We ordered breakfast which was very delicious (pancakes with coconut were awesome). We will definitely come back if we have a chance.
