We totally loved this homestay. The family was super polite and friendly. The food they offered was delicious. We were able to park our own tuktuk on theur property as well. The view on lion rock was stunning!

Superb location with Star class services The hotel is located in a quiet area, just a short walk from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Pidurangala. It’s very convenient place to capture the beautiful view of sunset and sunrise. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the views of the rock from the hotel are amazing. Also the food at the hotel is also excellent. I had the chance to try a variety of Sri Lankan dishes, all of which were delicious. The staff at the hotel are also very friendly and helpful. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that I had a great stay. One of the things that I really appreciated about the hotel was the opportunity to experience real Sri Lankan hospitality. The staff, led by Sugath and his family, were so welcoming and made me feel like I was part of the family. They went out of their way to make sure that I had a memorable stay. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Sigiriya, I highly recommend the Sigiriya Close Up View Hotel. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and has excellent food and service. You will also get to experience real Sri Lankan hospitality.

We loved it. We had a small issue with the room but the family were so helpful and sorted everything out for us so quickly. Absolutely no complaints

We loved our stay with Close Up View! The host family are so so kind and go out of your way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. We got dinner and breakfast which was an additional cost but SO worth it. We walked up pidurangala rock for sunset and they had the most amazing meal ready for us when we got back. It’s a great location for this rock but it is a bit far from other restaurants and shops

Magnificent views of the Sigiriya rock. The host family are super sweet and kind. They helped us a lot planning and giving good and valuable info. Plus, they drove us in tuktuk to Habarana to take our bus heading to Polonnaruwa for a reaaaally really fair price.

Internet connection is available but only in the main dining area, very weak signal in the room.

Amazing location with clear views of Sigiriya Rock and within walking distance of both Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. They organised a tour for us to go on an elephant Safari in the nearby national park, picked us up in town with their tuktuk, and explained a lot about the area. There were many beautiful peacocks in the accommodation grounds also.

Beautiful gardens around the property, delicious home made breakfast & dinner, and absolutely fantastic view of Sigiriya. Staff were really lovely, however we did have a few communication issues throughout our stay. Rooms were comfortable and clean, but basic (as expected).

In our room fan and flash in the toilet didn’t work. Good that we stayed just one night. Breakfast was not the best. A few rooms don’t have AC. Be aware of that, it’s pretty hot at night there.

The owner/caretaker's number was never reachable and in network. There were multiple frogs in the bathroom.

The property owner tried to cheat us on the accommodation rate by adding an enormous amount for a meal (exceeding the cost of staying by a few times). He also tries to sell you his driving and tuk-tuk services but you will be better off using PickMe app or booking with someone else. After an argument and calls to booking the owner reported that we didn’t show up at the property (which blocks you from commenting, and saves him a commission for booking). I wouldn’t trust ratings in Sri Lanka since we observed people pity-talk you for good reviews and make reviews inappropriate to the suggested standards. For us, this was absolutely the worst stay during our whole trip to Sri Lanka!
