Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Surprisingly nice and clean spot near Colombo airport — comfy room with AC and everything I needed for a short transit stay. What really made it great was Ashan’s help and communication. He sorted everything out for me, including a van to Weligama. Super smooth. Couldn’t have asked for better support!

This property is off the main road and very quiet considering it’s so close to the airport. It has everything you need for a short stay/transit to airport. Across the road upstairs is a very good beautician if you want pedicure,massage ect. And a local restaurant (eat downstairs for a cheap good local meal)

Wonderful place.
Such a great location, perfect for a good nights sleep near the airport. At the end of a nice quiet short small street. Walking distance to restaurants and shops for food/snacks. Definitely recommend, it will be our new airport hotel.

Had a great one night stay at this hotel after arriving late into Colombo airport. The staff were so helpful and organised tuk tuk pickups from the airport and helped us navigate a bus to Colombo city. The room was clean, spacious and nicely air conditioned. Great value for the price.

Very close to the airport. The room was clean and equipped with a kettle, coffee, tea, and water, which was very convenient for a late arrival. Good airconditioning.There is a nearby restaurant where you can have breakfast. Excellent communication with the host.

Highly recommend this transit hotel. Great communication with the staff. Very clean and comfortable. Short distance to the airport. Great restaurant/bar at the Emperean Hotel, a 15 min walk for our final meal. Nothing to dislike.

We would like to thank to owner Ashan and the rest of the team for all help on our bicycle journey around Sri Lanka. They arrange the pick up at the airport for 2 people with all the gear to the hotel. The place is very well situated about 3 km away from the airport so that was our choice to flight in to Sri Lanka and out from. The rooms are simple, clean and cosy with A/C, bathroom and TV. Whole complex is under shade so there is no overheating. We also left our cases for two weeks at the hotel on our request and after we finished we have stayed for 3 more night to prepare our gear for flight back and enjoying the last day spending on south beaches with the driver Darshi which owner Ashan reccomend us. Early morning drop at the airport on our way back was also arranged by Ashan. Shady Transit Hotel will made your travel to Sri Lanka a plesant one. Team will help you in every way to feel you like home. Highly reccomended by Gregor and Staš.

No frills but no concern for what we needed
Great location close to the airport, and they helped organise a Tuk tuk for us in the middle of the night. We only spent a few hours there to freshen and nap but it was exactly what we needed

For my short stay purposes, there was nothing about this Hotel that was not acceptable.
The hotel was perfect for a very short stay overnight with easy access to the airport for an early morning flight. The staff was very helpful in arranging for a transport from and to the airport. They had stored bags for me when I made a short trip to Maldives. I can’t imagine a more helpful staff. The room was very basic, but it had comfortable bed, air-conditioning coffee, and tea service a hot shower and seemed very clean.

It's very close to the airport and the owner is good. He provided a lot of information on how and where to travel Also the room is very clean and new. There are shops and atm nearby. And it's not overpriced.

Nothing, it is great value for money, especially near an airport.
When I booked this hotel I was expecting much as it was just for one night before our flight but our room was even better than expected. The bed was extremely comfy, the aircon was lovely and cool, it had great wifi and it had a working TV. As a bonus we had free tea and coffee. The staff also arranged a tuk tuk for us at 4:30am which was 500 Sri Lankan rupees.
