Amazing staying at Shining Green View was the highlight of our stay at Ella.Gayan, Sisira and other staff is very kindly and helpfuly.they have a tuk tuk and taxi.they picked us up from the station and free of charge. The bed,room and bathroom are very comfortable and everything is very clean.the room itself has balcony with a beautiful rock view. They have a new build restaurant.it has a best view and we felt like we were in the sky.they provide a delicious very large breakfast.its very taste and we couldn't eat it all.we had dinner at the new restaurant.there is a restaurant so we didn't need to go anywhere else. We recommend it to anyone looking for fantastic,hospitable and affordable stay in Ella.highly recommended for anyone and we will be back.🥰

Some construction was going on during our stay, so the place wasn't all organized and some construction noise was disturbing the peaceful atmosphere.

Such a beautiful stay - the family is so welcoming and accomodating. The property had amazing views of Ella. The home cooked dinner and breakfast were both exceptional. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend enough!!

It is a very clean and nice small family hotel. The family is doing you every favor you can imagine. E.g. they do very nice and cheap local tours and transport to further location. The food (also for a very fair price) is great. Would come again!

Too far to walk into town but not a problem with tuk tuks available. The brothers are working very hard to expand their hotel, so building work is in progress during the day but did not impact our stay. They ensure everything clean & dust free at end of day. It will look amazing when finished & new restaurant in place on top floor! Would definitely return to Shining Green View!

Fantastic room overlooking Ella & jungle type area below hotel with cheeky monkeys to watch. Could watch the trains too! Room had huge private balcony with sofa! Also had table & chairs. Amazing views & at sunrise/sunset even better! Huge comfy bed, nice touches in room decor. The three brothers who own & run hotel were so warm, kind, professional, nothing was too much trouble. They work very hard to make you feel at home. Food cooked by their mum was delicious Sri Lankan food. They arranged tuk tuk when we needed one to get into town, about 7 minutes away.

We had room next to the dinning area so the room wasn't soundproof. It didn't bother us as much but if you're a light sleeper maybe that can be a problem for you.

The staff was very friendly. They organized every trip to Ella town because the property is on the hill (10min away by tuktuk, they have their own tuktuk service). They also gave us directions to Ella rock shortcut. Room and bathroom were very clean. We had our own balcony with nice view. For breakfast you get a lot of delicious foods.

Absolutely nothing!

Shining Green view is a family run boutique hotel perched on the hill that overlook Ella. We enjoyed the stay totally! The owner and his band of brothers went out of their way to make sure the family is well taken care of! becos of its high altitude, the cool air makes the sleep very comfortable. We don't need the a/c or fan at all. Thank you very much for welcoming us into your place.

The stairs would be challenging for a person with limited ability

The staff, breakfast & room. The staff were very friendly & always smiling. The breakfast was great. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Nice peaceful location.. I was able to do yoga on the top floor of their building & enjoy the view & see monkeys in the trees.

It was a pleasant stay... awesome view and very friendly staff... Rooban took care well whenever we needed anything...Even though we were about to leave early they packed food and brought it. A bit away from the crowded area...even we could see the trains..... lovely stay

We rented the chalet expecting a small appartment with living room and two bedrooms, but this turned out to be 2 standard rooms with separate frontdoors next to each other. After one night we changed to the large family room at the bottom of the building. This has a nice and large outside seating area.

The 3 brothers running this place are really friendly and welcoming. The one who cooked made special gluten-free chappati’s for our daughter, which was very much appreciated. Also their rice and curry is very tasteful and breakfast has lots of varieties.

The only thing I didn’t like was the long stares to get to the hotel. As it was very hard to get our luggage. But thankful the staff were nice enough to help carry luggage.
