We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaWe loved our stay at Sigiriya Chena Villa. The room was nice and comfortable. We had dinner both nights, as well as breakfast, we thought we would go out the second night but the food was so good we decided to eat there again on the second night. They grow their own vegetables so it makes it even more special. The family is lovely, the garden is amazing - we felt really good!

FinlandThe room had a bit of a damp smell, seems to be an issue in many places in Sigirya because of the wet climate. Once we aired out the room properly it was okay though.
A very peaceful beautiful place to stay close to sigirya center. Small homestay with a lovely garden. We were warmly welcomed and felt at home here. One of the evenings of our stay we got to pick vegetables from the garden and cook on the fire together. It was amazing to eat such fresh delicious food straight from the farm! Sigirya town is a, walkable distance but there are also restaurants and shops even closer by. We recommend staying here for a calm and homely feeling.

GermanyIt’s a little bit off the main road and not too easy to get to but the owner always offers to drive you in his tuk tuk so that’s just a very small negative point.
Beautifully set surrounded by nature in the owners own garden, where he grows a lot of fruits and vegetables. Big comfortable rooms and beds. The Highlight is definitely the owners. Super nice people that are more than happy to help with anything you might need during your stay.

The host was super friendly and the home made food was delicious. He prepared wonderful curry with vegetables from his garden. One evening I was invited to watch him cooking. Super nice experience.

AustriaFamily-run house with a fairytale garden, wonderful fruit trees and vegetables in the middle of wonderful nature. Comfortable bed, hot water, functional with a cozy veranda, I felt very comfortable. A highlight were the fireflies at night. The bird watching in the morning was also very nice. It was great that tours to the elephant photo safari and Dambulla were organized for me upon request, and a tuktuk was always available, as Villa Chena is a bit far from the center. I would be happy to come again on my next stay in Sri Lanka.
