I had a wonderful stay at this family-owned home stay in Sigiriya. The host's hospitality was outstanding, he was genuinely attentive and proactively offered assistance and suggestions for exploring the area. A significant highlight was the location, which provided a stunning, unobstructed view of Lion's Rock, adding a magical element to the experience. The meals prepared were excellent, showcasing authentic Sri Lankan flavors. Dinner and breakfast were both a testament to the quality of their home cooking. I had a wonderful stay at this homestay! The place was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The hosts were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything I needed. I felt truly welcomed and well taken care of throughout my stay. One of the best parts was that the host had a tuk-tuk, so he could take me to my destinations for a small fee. It made exploring the area so much easier! The breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared, a perfect start to the day. And the view from the garden was simply breathtaking – a stunning panorama of Lion Rock that made my stay even more special. I would recommend this homestay to anyone visiting the area. Suriya and his wife are the most welcoming hosts ever! They made our stay very special and accommodated everything for us - Suriya helped us by organising pick up from Colombo airport, as well as organise day trips from Sigiriya. He drove us around in his tuk-tuk and his wife cooked dinner for us one day. The host was always available on Whatsapp 24/7 and when my luggage got lost at the beginning of our holiday he went out of his way to support me in getting it back. He always ensured the safety of his guests and was super kind and hard-working. The rooms were super clean and the view was great. Don’t hesitate to stay there for an authentic experience with this warm family! Thank you for everything!

Wow, we absolutely loved our stay at Sigirya Palace View homestay. Suriya (our host) and his wonderful family went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and when asked to provide lunch and dinner, these meals were also incredible. Ahead of our stay I contacted Suriya to let him know that in our travelling family were three gluten free people and one vegan, him and his wife cooked up incredible food to cater for us (changing the meal everyday). Suriya also was incredible in facilitating our activities, providing expert advice and Tuk Tuk transportation to Pidurangala, Dambulla and Sigirya. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and well provisioned with a large washroom! One of the biggest pluses was the garden, it is an amazing place to relax in a hammock after an early start climbing either little or big rock, you can spend a whole afternoon chilling with an incredible view of Lion Rock! Couldn’t recommend enough.

Best stay in Sri Lanka! The family is lovely, takes care of all your needs and the ladies of the house are excellent cooks. I was greeted with fresh juice. The garden offers a great feel-good and relaxing atmosphere. The beds are comfortable and you are safe from insects under the mosquito net. The host was very helpful and organised a safari and a trip to the next town for me. He also has his own tuktuk and can organise excursions with guests. The room is basic, but large and very clean. Also the communication on WhatsApp before, during and after my stay was perfect!

The owner and his family are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you organise your time there. Their food was better than the food in the restaurants around Sigiriya. We ate breakfast and evening meal there every day. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean and the gardens had an amazing view of lions rock.

Suriya's hospitality was exceptional. He was very helpful and made every effort to ensure the well-being of the guests. He did everything he could to make the guests' stay more enjoyable. He can offer to take you to and from the tourist attractions in his tuktuk. He also explains everything you can do in Sigiriya and the surrounding area at the beginning and helps you plan your stay. The food served by Suriya's family was absolutely delicious, which is why I didn't feel the need to eat out. The room was very clean and big enough. It has a beautiful garden with a fantastic view of Sigiriya Lion Rock. I would come back anytime!

It was our first time staying at a homestay but from the moment we arrived Suriya and his family made us feel so welcome. The food on the first night was brilliant with a selection of currys including chicken, okra, breadfruit and sambol. This was one of the best meals we had during our time in Sri Lanka and was far better than any of the other restaurants we visited in Sigirya. We ended up eating almost every meal at Suriya’s house. Breakfast was very good as well - it was different every day with a big selection including eggs, hoppers, fresh fruit, and much more. On one of the days we had some spare time so Suriya took us around Sigirya on his tuktuk and gave us a tour of the village and told us about how the locals live. He then took us to a lake where we had a boat ride around the lake with stunning views of Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock. We then came back and relaxed on the hammocks at the homestay! Suriya went the extra mile to accommodate to our needs. On our last night we mentioned how we really enjoyed the breadfruit curry and he climbed a tree in the back garden to get the fruit. We had the curry for breakfast the next day and it was fantastic. Additonally, the rooms are very clean especially considering you are in the middle of the jungle! Would highly recommend stay at Sigirya Palace View during your time in Sri Lanka as the food and hospitality are some of the best I have ever experienced.

I wish we stayed longer than one night!

The most amazing homestay experience. The host and his family were so welcoming and made sure we had the best stay. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional and the hospitality is unmatched. The room was comfortable and exactly as described. Views from the garden of the lion rock were also really beautiful. They even took our little kids inside their home while we finished our breakfast. Don’t hesitate to book here, you won’t be disappointed !

As we suggested when we left, it would be great to list clearly the services/products they can offer and at what price because if we don't ask we just don't know and I am pretty sure a lot of people are not used to ask if it's not written anywhere. As hosts, they want to do everything but we never discuss the prices so we don't really realize our expenses (prices are definitely acceptable anyway) and when comes the moment to pay, we did not have enough rupees. The alternative would have been to pay the stay itself upon arrival and any extra later on.

The terrace with a view on the Lion Rock, it's amazing. The hosts were very friendly and always offered their help with anything we may need (they provide laundry services, sell drinks, including beers, cook food upon request, suggest tours/tuktuk rides etc.) Unlike most places in Sri Lanka, the water pressure and temperature were very nice. The bed has a net (a must in this country I would say to prevent mosquitos disturbing your sleep)

I truly have no negative things to say about our stay

Great home stay in a quiet area away from the noisier tourist area. We had our own itinerary and driver so we did not need assistance, but it was clear our host was happy to help and could arrange activities if needed. The views from the outdoor common area were fantastic. And the meals provided by the host’s wife were some of the best we had in Sri Lanka

Suriya and his wife are excellent hosts. He called me a few days before I arrived to give me recommendations and also organized a driver to pick me up at the airport - sending me pictures of the car, the driver and his licence beforehand. Once I arrived, I received excellent care - from Suriya's wife making delicious meals to Suriya driving me around and acting as a tour guide. I felt very well taken care of. Both of them are incredibly nice and want to make sure you are having a great time.

A truly memorable stay. From the minute we arrived we were taken care of very well. The location and ambience, the views, our room, cleanliness, the garden and terrace..... everything was excellent. Suriya and family ensured that every little request was fulfilled. Breakfast and dinner were varied, abundant and very tasty, and eating on the balcony with the accompanying birdsong was really special.

That our vacation was too short, to experience this lovely place for longer!

What I liked about Sigiriya Palace View was the exceptional hospitality—the family made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our garden-view room was spotless, and the ceiling fan, along with the mosquito nets, ensured we slept comfortably through the night. Our daughter had a wonderful time playing with their kitten and dog and was even invited to hang out with their kids, which made her day extra special. It was heartwarming to see her so happy and included. The food was fresh, flavorful, and some of the best we had during our trip. Every meal felt home-cooked and full of care. The Safari they recommended was fantastic—it was to a less crowded park, where we saw many elephants up close. The price was very reasonable at 8,000 LKR per person, and the entire experience was unforgettable. Everything about this place felt fair, genuine, and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya!
