We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomQuite a few flies in the room.
The pool is amazing in the heat of the day! The rooms are simple but clean. The owners were extremely helpful and helped us plan our activities in Sigiriya and get taxis for us. The food was also good.

United Kingdomnothing to complain
The location is peaceful and away from the main road, but only a short walk from the restaurants. Also a view of the rock from the hotel restaurant and upper balcony. Peacocks and beautiful birds are in the garden. The staff were wonderful and lovely place to relax .We will be back again. Highly recommended

AustraliaI had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel for just one night, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. The hospitality was top-notch, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The room was impeccably clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, with every small detail adding to the comfort. The location was perfect, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being conveniently close to local attractions. What truly stood out was the host's warmth and attentiveness – they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family, and I look forward to returning on my next trip!

United KingdomWe would recommend a room with Aircon as it was very humid and damp with only a ceiling fan.
A lovely stay with great hospitality from the owner. The location is on the edge of Sigiriya, and it took us 30mins to walk to the entrance of Lions Rock. Tucked away of the main road, this is a quiet and tranquil spot with a lovely swimming pool. So when you've done climbing both hills, it was great to be able to sit around the pool and chill. And the owner was particularly kind to still make breakfast for us after we had completed an early morning hike up Lions Rock and returned 20mins after the end of breakfast. We did not expect this, and so to be offered breakfast was fantastic. Thank you very much Fernando. He also arranged an excellent driver for our elephant safari into Hurulu. We saw about 30 elephants on an afternoon tour. Fantastic.

AustraliaThis place was amazing and we regretted that we only stayed for 1 night as a base for climbing Sigiriya Rock. Everything was just great! Highly recommend staying here. - Staff incredibly helpful and welcoming. - Pool was clean and well maintained and a lovely spot to hang out - Restaurant on the top floor with a view of Sigiriya Rock - Great breakfast and amazing food options from the menu. - The room was spacious, clean, newly renovated with a comfy bed. - Shower was hot with great pressure - They organised an early morning TukTuk so we could climb Sigiriya Rock for sunrise (highly recommend) - Location is beautiful - we saw a variety of wildlife from the pool!

New ZealandWe were a large (ish) group who ordered a few additional dishes and drinks during our stay at the hotel. We tried to pay as we ordered to avoid confusion at the end, but the owner/staff insisted not. However, upon check out we were met with multiple confusing bills to pay, including a few double-ups of drinks etc. I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that this was a mistake. But, worth mentioning as it took a lot of time to rectify, and, in all honesty, not sure it was entirely genuine. Also, the bathroom need some serious ventilation, but the room itself was nice enough and the guy serving breakfast/carrying our bags was really lovely and helpful.
Property is quite new, meaning the quality is higher than many other hotels in Sri Lanka. We thought the breakfast was really good, with a view of Lion's Rock, and the swimming pool is a great addition as you are essentially in the jungle so cooling down from the humidity is necessary. Be aware you are out of the 'main' town and down a 'dirt road' but this really doesnt make a difference, you're still approximately 7 mins walk to plenty of restaurants and we went to Dhanu Garden and Restaurant twice because it felt like an authentic jungle experience, food was SO good, you can BYO wine/beer, and the hospitality even better!

United KingdomI would recommend an upper floor as it offers better views - the bathroom in our room no 3 needed better ventilation.
The staff are wonderful and very helpful and the exterior of the property is lovely. The pool is excellent and the location very peaceful with great views from the 1/2 floors. Lots of monkeys and bird life to watch.

DenmarkThere was a lack of furniture to unpack clothes into which was a shame as we stayed a few days.. But nothing major!
A great little hotel tucked away from the main road in Sigiriya.. out in nature but still near the small town so you can walk to dinner and to the rock. The pool was lovely and the room spacious and comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful, helping us with transport etc. Can recommend!

SlovakiaWe had a very pleasant stay in this quiet property with a magnificant view on the Lion Rock! Clean and comfortable rooms with a common terrase. We had a swim in the pool couple of times a day. We could choose between continental and traditional breakfast, both very delicious. Food cooked by the owner was the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka, always fresh and very tasty.. Host family absolutely helpful. Only a couple of minutes from the Rock!

United KingdomSame breakfast everyday, no menu so hard to ask for something different. Only offered eggs, fruit and toast everyday. No kettle or drinks facilities, but they did make when asked, again no menu so hard to know what's available.
Clean, welcoming, comfy bed, big room, lovely pool and gardens. Staff were amazing. Excellent location, view of Sigiriya. Not far to walk or TukTuk to restaurants and shops.

United KingdomI didn’t dislike anything, but the WiFi was very intermittent, but I am mindful that the location is in the middle of a jungle.
As is true everywhere I’ve visited in Sri Lanka, the staff were very friendly and courteous. The location is very quite, but a short walk from several road side restaurants. The view of Lion Rock is very good from the bar/restaurant floor. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and super clean.

United KingdomLovely family hotel with an amazing swimming pool which can compete with most 4 or 5 star hotels. Fernando and his family and staff made us feel very welcomed and well looked after. Our room was nice and simple and very clean. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. View of the Sigiriya rock from the dining/breakfast area on the top floor. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night but would definitely stay again if we decided to come to the area again. Very good value for money.

DenmarkSomething small frogs found their way into our bathroom. I guess its part of being in the djungle, but for a city girl like myself, I could have managed without.
The staff was amazing. Very helpful, and flexible when we needed something. When we asked for something they took Care print straight away, which was highly appreciated. We brought our baby and they had a baby chair and cot, which was really nice.

HungaryWhen on the ground floor, you need to accept that the building is situated in the middle of the nature where fauna is rich.
Kind & helpful staff, nice & big pool. One can enjoy nature in the garden and on the balcony, as it is surrounded by forests. Bars & restaurants of Sigiriya village are within walking distance.
