Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nice spacious rooms, great aircon, lovely communal spaces including a huge terrace, delicious breakfast for very cheap, beers and in the fridge, laundry service and bikes to rent, and wonderful hosts.

Had a lovey few days at Tony’s! Staff were really helpful when it came to places to eat, things to do, buses etc. Arranged tuk tuk’s to the bus station. Breakfast was great! Lookout for all the bats in the trees across the road, so special.

Tony and Jenna are amazing host. They help you through your stay and even after! They give you good advise and are always happy to answer your questions!! Their place is perfect to visit Jaffna, clean and comfortable. It has a kitchen as well, where you can cook your food if you don't want to go out! Plus they offer breakfast if needed. We had a nice stay, thank you guys!!! 😊

We came here and immediately felt comfortable. It was clean, there were mosquito nets, manager and team were lovely, ac was working quite silently, the included breakfast was good and a lot. I had the first good sleep since I arrived the island. Worth every rupee!

Nothing to dislike.
Tony is a fantastic host. Speaks excellent English. Great sense of humour. Helpful with great advice for local restaurants and places to visit in the area. Has a guide on the wall for train, bus and ferry services. He arranged a VIP coach for me to Colombo and walked me to the bus stop a 2 minute walk from his guesthouse. The room was large, clean, just perfect. Great seating areas both upstairs and downstairs. Breakfasts, good, laundry service I used, back within the day. I would definitely use Tony's garden Inn again and can highly recommend it.

Amazing stay at Tony’s. What an amazing guy, always willing to go out of his way to help and offer recommendations. The perfect host. The rooms are comfortable and the location is in a nice area. Thanks for helping us discover Jaffna and the awesome Tamil people.

Tony and his brother were super friendly and so helpful. The gave me very good recommendations what to see in Jaffna and nicest local restaurants. I highly recommend the restaurants Malayan cafe and mango vegetarian restaurant

Tony is so welcoming and helpful! I loved the location of this place, I walked most places and the surrounding neighborhood is super cute. I really appreciated a place to fill water bottles with purified water as well. Amazing value!

The owner, Tony, kindly provides all guests with the information they need for their trip. The building doesn't seem new, but the rooms, bathrooms, and common spaces are all kept clean. And also he is a local, will give you in-depth information about the area. A great place for backpackers.

Super comfortable place to stay in Jaffna, close to all the points of interest - I was able to walk everywhere. But what makes it so special is the owner. Tonny is a super friendly and interesting person to talk to. He even provided me with an electric kettle in a room when heard that I couldn't wake up without coffee :) There is also an adorable dog Sofi, don't miss the opportunity to play with her! Honestly, I'm impressed with how well Tony manages this place ensuring every guest has a comfortable stay. Highly recommend staying here and supporting small businesses.

Double mattress was a bit basic, and there were some bugs in the room but had nets.
Tony was a great host, very attentive but not pushy. Gave good recommendations for meals out and served us a lovely breakfast. Had a refill water station for a small fee.

Nothing, everything is so good arranged.
Tony! Is such a nice guy, so relax, keeps the place with his staff so clean. Shower have hot water, beds are clean and fresh. Floor is tidy, kitchen is equipped. Honestly a Hostel as you would want it. Near everything and away from the hussle and bussle of the centre. Such a recommendation in place! We booked for 2 days and extended with 2!

Very difficult to have a proper sleep. Very hot , tons of mosquitos. The mosquito net it's not fitting the bed properly, so a mosquito net at the windows would be much helpful.

The mosquitoe net and bed were a little small for the European persons frame.
Tony and his friend are fantastically helpfully and always available to answer any questions. The room was large and airy with opening windows, shared bathrooms very good and clean. The WiFi was good in the room, but excellent in the shared area. There is a kitchen we could use with gas top, microwave and fridge freezer. We had breakfast one morning which was fantastic value, but far too much food for us. They can also help with touring and bike hire. The location is excellent, walking distance from train station, bus station, town and attractions. Booked 4 nights, stayed 5. Would definitely stay again.

Very beautiful and peacefull place to stay. Big terrase to do yoga or have a cup of coffee. Nice and clean rooms with comfy beds. Very friendly and helpful host. Totally recomend to everybody! Thank you for everything Tony! Hope to come back...

My mattress needs to be replaced.
It's a great place to stay in Jaffna. It's simple but clean and super friendly staff. Location is good and close to city centre. Staff will help arranging tuk-tuk, tours and whatever you need. Definitely a great place to stay.
