Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

All good.
The hosts were incredibly helpful - keen to understand our needs and assist us in the best possible way. For example, we try not to use disposable plastic water bottles and travel with our own re-usable bottles. The host was kind enough to arrange a 20litre container of drinking water for us, from which we re-filled our bottles. We paid for the water, he explained he would get his deposit back on the container when it was returned. Excellent. We were very happy. We also used the kitchen facilities to make a fruit salad and the laundry facilities. All good.

Very close to the beach and restaurants. Ideal location to explore Trincomalee. The host was very friendly and was always checking if we needed anything. We could wash off the sand outside before entering our room. On our last day the host prepared a fruit platter for us, it was delicious. Our room was clean and spacious.

Low water pressure in the shower, no hot water. There was no proper blanket on bed. Quite noisy from outside.
Great location near the beach and restaurants, large and clean room with good AC. Nice manager, who helped me to arrange tuk-tuks when I needed it. He also allowed me to hang out on the sofa in the reception area even after my check-out for quite long time period.

The room was great. it was clean, spacious. So nice to have an AC to keep cool during the mid day heat. Location wise it was perfect walking distance to everywhere we needed!

Great place to stay would highly recommend. Aircon is great and so is the wifi. The hotel has all the facilities advertised, it's clean and good value for money. Just a short 5 min walk to the beach.

nice hotel, clean rooms, hot water, shower, air conditioning, the hotel has a kitchen and a refrigerator. You can have tea/coffee if you wish. excellent location, within walking distance of various cafes, 3 minutes to the beach. friendly and pleasant staff. Beach with white sand and calm sea without waves. Ideal for holidays with children.

The staff were very polite and relaxed with check-in checkout times. Beach is just 2 mins walk from the room. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very well located close to the perfect beach, restaurants, bars and main road. AC, clean, nice bed and bathroom with warm water. I recommand it !

Rooms are quite dirty and the walls are very thin so you hear literally everything.
The host and his wife are really nice and helped me out alot with my bag that was broken.

poor wifi I don't think other reviews reflect everything of this property as I had been frequently harassed by the guest house diving centre people. Those two SNP diving instructors kept smoking vveed and drinking beer + wine shouting yelling every day & night in the property garden. At the same time asking me to smoke with them plus join their rip off overpriced diving/snorkeling programmes. When I enquired about the diving safety measure, they just didn't care and kept laughing at me. Then, one of them immediately lighted up his veｅd cigarette and the smoke blew towards my room window. Very unprofessional and rude diving instructors with poor behavior. The brother of the lady owner offered me veed for 1000 LKR and if I want any massage (not sure what kind of massage) when he saw me on the road. It was extremely annoying. So tiring to politely reject everything they offered. The male owner was abusing animals in the backyard where my room is very close to. At night, I constantly heard goats crying as the owner locked them up with chains 7x24.
