What made our experience especially memorable were the amazing hosts. The owner was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. He went above and beyond to fulfill all our requests and personally organized fascinating excursions that added a special charm to our trip. It was clear that he genuinely cared about making our stay perfect, and thanks to his efforts, we felt completely at ease and well taken care of throughout the whole vacation. We arrived here in the night and in the middle of the only storm we experienced in our fortnight in Sri Lanka. This is a very special family run place in the most formidable grand design style building with stunning architecture. Waking up to Sri Lanka with this view was an unforgettable experience. The room was vast. The warmth of the family was palpable. We were coming from a business trip so I left a suitcase here for two weeks. They checked in with me regularly and I knew my things were totally safe. Thank you for such a special introduction to a very special trip :)

We’ve been visiting Sri Lanka with our family for many years, but very few places have impressed us as much as Splendour Residence. Sure, there might be some minor imperfections here and there – but they’re completely outweighed by how smoothly everything runs and how exceptional the guest care is. The staff is absolutely fantastic – from the owner to every single member of the team. Everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Our little daughter received such lovely attention and care, and it made the whole stay even more special for us. The food was excellent, and the surroundings – both indoor and outdoor – were beautiful. There is a clear emphasis on space and comfort throughout the property, which we truly appreciated. The entire hotel feels well-thought-out, peaceful, and harmonious. I sometimes give a 10/10 rating on Booking, even when a place has a few flaws that are balanced by other strengths. But Splendour Residence deserves more than just a perfect score. If I could rate it higher, I absolutely would. We even changed our travel plans just to stay a little longer – that’s how much we loved it here. And if we ever return to Sri Lanka, there’s no doubt – we’ll be coming back here.

It’s a little difficult to find, but the staff area great in helping you locate it

Absolutely spectacular views over Madu Lake and utterly peaceful. It’s a modern and very spacious design which sits inconspicuously in the landscape. The owners are so lovely and our Sri Lankan curry was the best we had in our month in Sri Lanka.

Beautifull, wonderfully quiet hotel with spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms and a fabulous view from the windows to the lake. The staff and hotel owners are wonderful people - very friendly, kind and helpful. They satisfied all our wishes 🙂 They even cooked food according to our request, which was not on the menu. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful 😋 We would very much like to come back here again and recommend it to friends 👍

Beautiful artistic building (inside and outside) in a even more beautiful scenery looking out over the lake. Turned out that the owner is also chef, and a great one. The food, the service, the views, the pool, the terrace, the rooms and all the personal artwork scattered around the hotel is amazing. Don't hesitate, book this place. You will love it.

One of the best places that we stayed as a Family of 3. Amazing views from the room. Huge Bathroom. Owners are very kind and very simple truly amazing people. Need to mentioned also about Rice and curry that we had for our Lunch was out of this world, and the shrimps that we had for our dinner one of the best shrimp with garlic that we ever had.

The place is absolutely outstanding! They are very helpful and also that I spent only one night there, they were carrying very much for me! For the breakfast they asked me, what I wanted it was very generous and excellent. The rooms are very big, well equipped and very very clean! I met also the owner and his family, which told me about the story of the hotel … but this I’ll not tell you, go to visit it

The staff was truly a highlight to my trip, the amount of kindness and hospitality was above the chart, very smooth process and professional attitude, the lady and owner of the hotel were available all the time. Rooms are big and modern, service is available all the time.

It would have been nice to have breakfast or dinner included in the price of the room. Also the parking was very limited so you should probably drive a small or medium vehicle here. Getting to the location was a bit of a challenge but it was part of having a quiet place.

The hosts were very accommodating and got anything that we requested. The view of the lake was beautiful and the environment was very peaceful. These days in Sri Lanka it is hard to find a vacation spot that is not crowded but this place was perfectly quiet. Also the room was amazing! The pool was beautifully kept and maintained.

Nothing, only that I couldn't stay longer

I don't know where to start. The place is just magical. It's completely in nature and has an amazing view over the lake. The surroundings are peaceful far away from any noise. The rooms are the biggest I've stayed in here in Sri Lanka and very luxurious. Also the balcony is huge and you can sit down and just enjoy the view on bird island and the lake as well as from your bed when you're waking up. The swimming pool was nice and refreshing and I had it all by myself. Besides the great place the hospitality was on a next level. My mornings have started with a refreshing homemade juice/smoothie that was brought to my room and free of charge. What a great start to the day. Furthermore, the owner arranged a private boat tour on the lake to visit the small islands such as Cinnamon island and I even could see a small crocodile on the tour. The tour took over 3 hours and it was no mass tour. Also, he recommended a great tour guide for Yala National Park and Ella. The dinner I had at the hotel was amazing. You can taste that he was previously working in a 5 star restaurant as a chef. Thanks again for everything and I definitely will come back the next time I'm visiting Sri Lanka.

We were very lucky to choose this place for our holiday in this beautiful country, and had an amazing experience at Splendour Residence!Probably one of the best places we have ever been to on our little planet. The views are outstanding , place is quiet and very peaceful. The food is delicious, and we been introduced to full Sri Lanka cuisine by probably one of the best chefs in Sri Lanka. Owners of residence were very welcoming, helpful and polite. We highly recommend this place for your holiday if you would like to run away from noisy environment and enjoy magic views of nature . My experience was exceptional. The hotel owner, Niroshan, personally greeted me at the airport when I arrived, and provided transfer. During my stay, he generously upgraded my room to one with a better view, at no extra cost. The spacious rooms were quite comfortable, and the dinners offered at the hotel were consistently satisfying. What truly made my stay memorable was the hospitality extended by Niroshan. He organized a river safari for me and my friend, one evening he took me on a trip to Galle with his family. To top it off, one evening, Niroshan and his wife prepared a special dinner featuring local dishes, which they graciously offered free of charge. Overall, Splendour Residence provided not only a comfortable stay but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a standout choice for visitors seeking a delightful experience in the area.
