The hotel needs refurbishment. The toilets needs to be redone completely. The rooms are very spacious. Although, there is a lovely view of the lake a veranda would have been brilliant. A good architect would have helped.

The rooms themselves were basic and didn’t match the beauty of the rest of the resort.

Beautiful property, with gorgeous main areas and a pool and view to die for. Food was good. Staff were great.

The room was comfortable but had some issues, including a small bathroom with water leakage, a poorly cleaned toilet, a broken balcony door, a faulty key, and only one chair on the balcony. The room also had some insects and the garden lighting was not working at night, making it uncomfortable. The room has great potential but needs improvements to enhance the outdoor experience.

The stay was wonderful, with a peaceful environment near the lake, a well-maintained pool, delicious dinner and breakfast, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. The location is ideal for a relaxing getaway

There were some power issue plug points not working and inside some lights not working. However over all good as we can manage with other lights

Location good, beautiful surronding near Parakrama samudra famous large Tank, and easy to access ruin city just 2-3Km. Room quite big, Breakfast was buffet and very good

Rooms are a bit dated but at that price it’s fair. It’s also a big hotel so expect large tour groups.

Nice big green spaces with wonderful views of the lake and a nice big pool. Unsurprisingly, staff were thoroughly nice and helpful.

There is no internet in the rooms. We were working during our travels and needed to take calls and be on our computers and phones in the common area and restaurant which were noisy with a lot of guests talking and milling about. This is a major detraction for us as we could not work in and enjoy the room. Also, internet is meted out with a code for 2 days for 4 devices. We had to request and enter additional codes throughout our stay.

The garden behind the hotel is sublime. Our room had a lovely view of the lake. The folks at the front desk were helpful on occasion. They allowed us to use a back office once for an important call (see internet below), made arrangements to courrier a forgotten key back to the prior hotel, and booked a safari.

The hotel is fairly run down with a lot of mould in 1st floor area, bed room and bathroom.

The staff was polite, but from the very beginning, when we were waiting for the room and speaking in English, the employee started speaking in Sri Lankan to our friend without any apology, and we just sat there, not understanding anything. Later, our friend had to explain everything the receptionist had said. We were informed that laundry service was free of charge at the hotel, and we, of course, tipped the staff who brought the laundry back. It was done quickly and neatly, but unfortunately, there was an iron mark left on my wife's dress. Upon check-out, we were asked to pay for the laundry. It wasn’t a problem, and we paid again, but a high-end hotel in Europe would have certainly apologized for the misunderstanding and not asked for payment for it. Nothing terrible happened, but I'm not sure if this added any positives to the hotel’s reputation.

Staff is good and food is average. Apart from that, this hotel is outdated, and only value is facing the lake. Hotel should be renovated with rooms with balconies and latest amenities. Good for a one time visit just for the sake of the lake.
