Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaWe had a wonderful stay at this charming homestay tucked away in a serene and peaceful locality, just a 10–15 minute bus ride from the Nuwara Eliya city center. It’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by nature and tranquility. The highlight of our stay was definitely the host – incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. He went out of his way to assist us in planning our local sightseeing and even provided pickup from the city center when we arrived, which made things so convenient. Breakfasts were a treat every morning – a delicious spread of both local and international dishes, freshly prepared and served with care. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy place to relax while exploring the beauty of Nuwara Eliya, this is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back!

SwitzerlandLike many other places, toilets are next to the shower with no curtain / separation, so it's all wet after having a shower. Rest was perfect.
We felt at home, really. The owner is an incredibly nice host, always offering us tea, great advice and cooking a very good breakfast (eat it all and you won't need lunch! You can also have dinner options there). Couldn't say enough nice things about him! Location is perfect. Just by a bus station leading to Kandy and lots of tuk tuk around (the owner was always there to make sure we were ok with the bus, which was very handy). Also the place is just next to Pedro Tea Estate, which is really worth a visit (they organise tours)! It is also very close to Lover's Leap n waterfall (maybe 30 mins walk) which is very nice. One day (on the owner's advice) we took a bus to the next town and did a wonderful walk on the Pekoa Trail through some villages and tea plantations (10k - 3 to 4 hours). There were a lot of workers in the plantations who seemed happy to see us and felt learnt a lot. We highly recommend this. Well marked all the way. Met lots of locals but only one tourist. Room has a shared balcony which is nice.

MalaysiaNothing major. Just to be aware that to get to the house, you'll have to go down one flight of stairs and a lil slope. It was rather cold in the evening so one would have to sleep with socks.
It's situated in the outskirts of the town. Lovely bungalow with the owner living in the same place. We were so impressed at uncle who took care of the place well and even cooked breakfast for us. He is passionate about his work. He tries to accommodate as much as he could to ensure guests has a good stay.

IndiaI liked everything
The place is a bit far from the city amidst the mountains With the tea plantations, making it an ideal place to stay for the nature lovers. However, the place is well connected to the city centre through the bus route which has buses running every 10 minutes & pass right infront of the property. Also lovers leap waterfall is a walking distance from the homestay The property is clean, spacious & very well maintained & the host is an amazing person who takes care of you literally like a family member. I don't remember how many times he made me tea in the 2 days I stayed & he gives a lovely breakfast platter (which is delicious & a really huge portion). He also helped me get a tuktuk to travel around Nuwara Eliya & that was with a huge discount (I could not have managed it if I had to negotiate it myself). I would really recommend this place to whoever is visiting nuwara eliya & you would not regret it :)
