The WiFi was slow and sometimes unstable, and the shower water was quite cool, though not cold. There was a small lizard in the room, but it didn’t bother us. 😄

The family welcomed us warmly; they were really nice and friendly people. ❤️ The room was clean, modern, and matched the pictures. The breakfast was amazing—I highly recommend it. The yard area and swimming pool were beautiful and enjoyable. There were many monitor lizards swimming in the nearby river, and they are worth seeing.

Could do with a small fridge in the room. will help to have a non-slip mat in the bathrooms since the tiled floors get very slippery and can cause serious injury.

The pool is more a big bath than a pool. Don't expect to swim in it and the place is busy with only 2 people. The bath is more for the atmosphere or to cool down a bit when you feel hot. Globally, the outside area is small, smaller than it appears on the pictures. Also, the a/c (outside compressors) are a bit noisy when they all are on.

The room was very spacious, luminous and clean. The bed was wide and comfortable. Bathroom is good and functional (light switches not convenient and no hot water). Both a/c and fan in good condition. Laundry can be done on site. Staff is discret but welcoming. The hotel is located a little bit backwards from the main street and so is more quiet. Except for the close railway.

In February 2024 we (2 adult and 3y.o. kid) had an awesome time staying at The Ritz villa. The host family is super nice and accommodating. They helped us with transfer booking and laundry. Overall the room was super clean and quite modern and they cleaned it and changed bed every 3-4 days and the territory was cleaned several times a day. In the room was everything that could be needed except just small fridge, but I believe it's the matter of time, because as I understood from the reviews last summer there was no pool - which is also great and served us a lot during our stay there. There was just a big fridge in the "lobby" for all the guests to keep their products. There is also small kitchen that guest can use, but we didn't as there are a lot of good and not expensive spots around. Location of the villa is very convenient - just 5 mins to the beach and there is a railway which surprisingly didn't disturb like we expected. If you are in search of cozy, quite, clean and family stay, look no more further!

The closeness to train line - trains woke us up a few times each night - however you get used to it and wouldn’t put us off coming back

A beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean and run by Rohan and his lovely family. If your planning a trip to Hikkaduwa then I recommend you stay at he Ritz. It's centrally located and easy acces to he beach and nearby restaurants. The nicest room we've had in our stay in Sri Lanka. A lovely kitchen and a pool that you won't want to get out off. Couldn't ask for much more.

The location is excellent, the pool is so clean, the ownersare very friendly and helpful. The beach is 2/3 mins away through a short cut, we loved our stay and will be back next year
