The area itself. I did not do my research. This North East coastal area is strictly seasonal and it was a total waste of 3 days off my Sri Lanka trip going there. It's virtually deserted,no people and many places are closed or empty. The beaches are dirty and the ocean is not clear The seas are far too rough so all boats are grounded. Forget Pigeon Island,it's closed and that was the only reason I went there,to snorkel with the black tip sharks. I believe their season is February to August but please check? DO NOT GO IN NOVEMBER!!!!! You have been warned

Just about walking distance from getting off the overnight bus from Matara to Trincomilee. Staff were first class. Perfect English spoken and the Guy was very informative,he also arranged scooter hire. Breakfast was included so fantastic value for money.

Mr and Mrs Jacob were truly a delight! We decided at the last minute to go to Trincomalee and they had two great rooms available plus a smaller room for our driver. They were kind, hospitable, generous hosts! The rooms were clean and in good condition with nice bathrooms. The breakfast which was included was DELICIOUS! They also were friendly, provided advice on places to eat and see and were incredibly kind and attentive to my autistic brother. Highly recommend this place to stay at a family owned place. We'll definitely be coming back!

The bed was probably the most comfortable we've had in Sri Lanka. The owners are very gentle and kind and the staff are excellent. We had the top level room facing the ocean and it was excellent. The breakfast was very delicious and filling. The owners feed the local dogs and so they hang around the front gate. Intially we were a bit unsure but the dogs were actually super friendly and act as security 🤣 and they don't go into the house. What they do for the street dogs is amazing as we have seen many strays in Sri Lanka and this is the first time we have seen them being so kindly looked after.

I read a lot of good reviews and decided to stay in the property. It did not disappoint. Everything right from the room to the location to the facilities was very good. The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was AMAZINGG!!! 😍😍 Will definitely recommend this property. It’s also super close to the beach

The only thing could be the distance to the main centres of Trincomalee or Uppuveli, and that we had to pay in cash. However, these are minor things and totally fine in our opinion.

The host and his family are amazing! They were always extremely kind and very helpful with everything we needed. They take care of the stray dogs and showed us little puppies which is why there will be dogs around and in the house. They even shared a private parking spot for our TukTuk so that it is always save. Breakfast was different everyday and a mixture of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and western options such as jam, butter, eggs, and toast. The house is located 1 min walk from the beach, however, the main beach of Uppuveli was a 20 mins walk which was fine in our opinion. When we left they made sure we were safely in our drivers car. One of the best accomodations we stayed in during our travels!!!

Coconut and onion salad for breakfast (is this salad?) It's very delicious. The breakfast is delicious. Everyone in the hotel is gentle and friendly. The male host helped me contact to see dolphins and go to Pigeon Island. All the arrangements were perfect and gave us all the help we needed. The hostess saw that I came back with the fruit and gave us plates and cutlery. She would also help patiently with some confusion about the use of the facilities. The room is very clean, close to uppuveli beach. It is also convenient to call tutu to the city center.

Maybe the room for three adults is a little small but not too much.

The good service of the properties and the EXCELLENT BREAKFAST!!!! The terrace in the top to have dinner or have a talk is GREAT!

There was nothing we didn’t like

This hotel had such a lovely vibe. So welcoming. The owners were very helpful and friendly! We loved the relaxed atmosphere and it felt like a home rather than a hotel which we loved. We were fed well at breakfast. Great roti! Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.

Nothing really, it was great value for money

The hotel is run by a husband and wife and really put so much effort into running this place. It's a humble place that serves really good Sri Lanka breakfast. The owners help to feed the local animals as there are a lot of strays in the area. The owners were lovely and so friendly and we had some laughs with them. We wish them all the best. They even spoke of setting up a farm where they can re-home the dogs and cats however due to the economic crisis they were unable to. Lovely place, lovely people in a top location.

Lovely owners who were always very willing to help us but were not pushy or intrusive. Filling breakfast (included) upstairs on the roof terrace Spacious room & bathroom with a lockable drawer Very close to the beach and a short tuk tuk ride to the main sites and a lovely beach bar, Fernandos. Loved the pet dogs and cats here too! Would recommend at this price point!

We stayed two nights and we had a great time there. Uncle and Aunty (the owners) were great hosts. Very friendly. They quickly attended to all our needs and requests. Food was tasty. On our second night on the way to the hotel we had a flat tire (no spare wheel and no shops open at the time). We gave uncle a call and he came right away to where we had the accident and stayed with us until we get it fixed. He was extremely helpful.

It was a really great experience for us. Jacob and Ivonn are people with big kind hearts and owners who help you with everything. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfy and they clean the room regularly. The breakfast here is absolutely amazing: local fresh food, different day by day, so delicious! The AC works perfectly and it helped us to survive when it was boiling hot. The beach is beautiful and there are many local cafes around. But the most wonderful thing is that you feel like at home in this place because of Jacob and Ivonn who make you feel that you are important. Now we are still travelling throughout Sri Lanka and no one in other places is as friendly as they are. 1000000% recommended.
