Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Fake booking discount
Very friendly staff, good location but booking discount is not true, that kind of room is never more than 100 usd. Between 30 and 40 is ok. Breakfast was nice.

The location is kind of far from the city center…they say 1.5 km but that is in a straight line…so if you can fly 1.5 km…if you are a really good swimmer about 2km …if you are using normal transportation about 4km.
The room was spacious and bright, newly furnished. The staff was nice.

Some parts could have been cleaned better. Music went on till after 2am from the pub.
This was a last minute booking due to another hotel disappointment. The staff were wonderful and took such good care of us - nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfy and my fan was amazing. The restaurant and pub next door was great and had a good vibe.

Fridge & TV didn't work. No water for shower or sink in the morning - although shower the night before was very good.

Only one thing may be. There was no soap in the room and only a small bottle with shower gel.
The hotel is very good for the price. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Prices for tours are not expensive and the quality is high. We booked several tours through the hotel and highly recommend driver Sunil and his family. They are friendly and punctual drivers, rare case for Sri Lanka unfortunately.

The inclusion of a balcony was misleading - it's a shared landing to get into the room not a personal balcony. Definitely not a big deal.
A really nice clean place to stay. A bit out of the way but I still walked in and out of town. The room was nice and cool with air conditioning.

Although the place seemed great on site, everything that came to be in reality was not. For starters the image on the website isn't the accurate room image. They have uploaded an image of a deluxe room to the standard room, misleading the customers. So once we got there we were stranded with two tent-sized rooms. Secondly, they had worms crawling in the showers, broken showers, NO TV remotes, NO Television in one room. Finally, the property itself is difficult to reach, which they don't inform you. The pool is the most misleading of them all with absolute no view or scenery promised on display. If you are planning on staying the night here, DO NOT settle for room numbers 117 & 120 (with no shower, no TV, no remote)

Pool is clean and great in the heat. The place is super easy to get to and a short walk from the lake and city center. Rooms are comfy. Breakfast lovely. No complaints at all. Would def stay again.

offered at an 80% discount, the hotel and pool looked ideal after a long journey. the pool was really dirty, the path up to it broken. the fan and a/c and fridge in the room were all so loud we had to switch them off. the hallways and stairs etc all really dirty. the room was tiny and basic. breakfast was also totally basic. the price is a con, there is no way this hotel's prices are ever 60 or 70,000 sri lankan rupees as stated in the ad. the worst thing is we could have stayed in a lovely guesthouse in a better location with a much better breakfast for half the 14,000 we paid to stay here. i tried to make a complaint but that wasn't possible so i will be making a complaint to booking.com.
