Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Lots of ants but think they liked our toothpaste, imagine it would be the same across all hotels on the south coast

Nothing it was great!
So close to all of the surf schools on Weligama beach, but a very quiet complex and building. Lovely hosts and big clean rooms, our stay was perfect!

Wifi is a little bit patchy depending on what room you are in.
Not that 2b1 requires another rave review but here goes. Location is great as it’s just a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and the bus stand. The rooms are clean, airy and well thought out. Beds are large and comfortable. Nuwan is a great host and provides lots of information about the local area. He also got up super early to take us to Mirissa for whale watching. Would highly recommend.

There was no mosquito nets, but there was repellent available. Anyways I got an awful bite at the sole of my foot and I couldn’t walk
That’s your perfect stay in Weligama. Great value for the money, place is clean, our room had a balcony, there was a kitchen that we could use, which with constant price increases in the restaurants was a dream.

2b1 has an excelent location to go surfing and discover the area. Host was very helpful with helping us to organise stuff.

When the room gets hot, you have to leave the fan on for quite a while before it gets a little better.
Beautiful rooms and super clean! We loved the private balcony and spent all our evenings there. We saw a bunch of monkeys right in the garden. The owner is very helpful and speaks English fluently. He helped us with receiving lost luggage from the airport. The location is great too, walking distance to everything.

Please note that the property has two seperate Booking listings, a newer and older wing (righ next to each other). It is registered as two seperate places on booking- 2b1 and 2B1. When we got there the room we booked was taken, therefore we were moved to the other property which wasn't what we booked and expected. He did give us a room with a balcony as consulation which we were happy about.
The location was good next to the beach. The rooms and shared area were very clean and comfortable.

water pressure in the shower was not great but manageable
Excellent location - close to the beach (just 1 min walk). Restaurants and grocery stores within a short walk. Friendly staff. The room was quiet and clean. Good wifi and a nice balcony. Great value for money - I extended my stay multiple times. Would recommend.

The room had a but smell of humidity/ mold but the AC helped
The room and whole place is beautiful clean and stylish. The staff are the family and they are super kind nice and also gave laundry and toktok service at very affordable prices. There are many nice places to eat around and the beach is a few steps away.

The stay here was good! We had an early check in and booked a room with fan only and it was alright, we didn’t need an AC. The location is close to restaurants and surfing schools. Markets and shops are nearby, max 5min walk. Would recommend.

Perfect location, nice big room with newly renovated bathroom. Got a little hot with only a fan, and especially during power cuts, but still had a comfortable stay.

Wifi intermittent in room but area upstairs with very good wifi if need to work.

There is a communal kitchen which was nice since most small rest houses don't have a fridge in the room and I NEED my iced drinks. The location is on the landside which might not be attractive to some but I found it convenient since the main town in a short walk away, giving you access to banks shopping etc. The Proprietor was professional and very accomodating.

The room was spacious and clean with a big balcony overlooking a garden. We had space to leave our surf boards outside and park our motorbike.
