Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Super cute place with little garden and terrace:) very close to the beach and a lot of restaurants and shops on the road :) It was super clean and comfy (with a few kitchen facilities) even though it was next to the main road, it was quiet and as soon as you stepped in the garden, you were far away from town :)

It was quite hot but the fan does well to cool the room.
Great room with a desk and small kitchenette. I liked the location, quietness and friendly hosts.

It was the best stay in Sri Lanka!! The family was amazing and so welcoming! I would recommend everyone to stay here 🤍❤️ Directly next to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby

It is 5 minutes away from the beach, the bus stop is right in front of the place and there are a lot of restaurants around. It was clean and had everything that we needed. Staff was nice.

No Fridge to store products.
The place was situated just few minutes away from beach and all the necessary shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly . Spacios room with a bed and seperate kitchen area where one has ability to prepere meals.Free Wi-fi .No fridge though.

What a gem of a find! Literally across the road from the beach. Cute self contained cabana with private kitchen. Super quiet eventhough located off Galle Rd. Nice hosts who are non intrusive and leave you to your privacy. Will definately book again next time I’m in Hikka!

amazing location near the beach and right next to busstop and supermarket. kitchen had everything i need. the family that owns this is super friendly, stayed 4 nights and loved it! :)

It was a little noisy but it died down not too late
The unit was right across the road from a main strip of beach and a close tuk tuk ride from turtle beach. Right next door is a supermarket and cake coffee shop and several reasonably priced restaurants. There are also more expensive restaurants on the beach opposite. It is good value for money.

Light sleepers should be aware that the property is on the main road and has a railway behind. For me, it wasn't really a problem.
The hospitality is excellent. The family is generous and very attentive. The room is clean and has a private kitchen attached with basic cooking appliance. The location is great with access to everything around. The beach is less than 5 mins walking distance.

There might be some noise from the traffic, but it is not too much either.
Such a beatiful space with a garden and two apartments. It is a bit further away from Hikkaduwa center, which makes it much more quiet and not so buzzing as the center. The beach is right on the other side of the street, takes around 5 minutes walking on Narigama beach to two different surf spots (beach break and main point.)

The House is located between the mainroad and the Train tracks, which gives it a Great Location But can also get loud. During the Night its More quiet
Really clean and modern room with Little terrace and own entrance from the Garden. It seems really new, no mould and Little Kitchen Perfect for breakfast.Just Cross the Road and you are Right At the beach, where it is still busy with Restaurants But More quiet than in the north end of the Beach. Everything you Need is around the corner. The Host Family is really lovely and Helpful

If you want to have a pleasant and great stay, this is more than a recommendable place. The location is perfect close to the busy streets but located in a quiet inside garden. 50 meters from Beach and very close to the other restaurants and supermarkets. The staff is more than friendly and it feels like coming home. The rooms are really new and adorable, where you can stay for a longer period if necessary. Next time we visit Sri Lanka, we will definitely come back !!

When close to the mainroad, also close to the train tracks and all the noice so prepare earplugs. Room gets humid. Could have mosquito nets around the bed.
Excellent location, right next to the main road and beach. All services close by. Spacious room.
