We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

SpainWhat a dreadful experience, I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Arrived very early morning due to some flight changes, made the hotel staff aware of this of course, but on my arrival, the door was locked, after few knocks the night shift doorman (goes by the name of yassin perhaps) opened the door, said the word NO and closed it again. Quite puzzled I knocked again and showed him the booking for three nights only to reply they have nothing for me. Only after a long argument and threatening to call the police that he conceded. It was a horrible experience from there on. The rooms were really dreadful for a three star hotel (not worth even one), broken and dilapidated furniture and everything looked old. The old shabby towels, linen and pillows smelled of smoke and damp, I couldn’t shut the door’s balcony properly. Since the balcony was overlooking the main road, I could smell carbon dioxide from the continuous stream of buses. Breakfast was always very late and some supposedly hot dished served cold, nothing to write back home about. I would caution people to stay away from this hotel, pay the extra €10 and stay somewhere nicer.
