Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe breakfast was good. There was nice seating in the courtyard to relax on. The bathroom was a bit grubby & the shower not great. The location is a 5-10min drive outside of Merzouga.

SloveniaThe rooms are a bit dark in the evening.
Great location for exploring the desert, very good breakfast and dinner. We also had an overnight stay in the desert with them, which was one of the best of my life. We took the Standard basic camp without a shower (there is a toilet and water): located in the middle of the desert, about an hour and a half by camel each way. The cost is 55€ per person, including camel ride, private tent, dinner, and breakfast. After returning to the hotel, you can take a shower there. This basic camp is much better than those "luxury" camps on the edge of the desert. 100% worth it.

NetherlandsNothing really. The only thing, but not the fault of the accomodation, is that other thatn desert-related activities, there is not much to do in the area.
We had a one night stay after arriving from Marrakesh. Next day we would leave for a night in the desert. Arrival was uncomplicated, easy to find (dirt roads). We were welcomed with tea and snacks. There were no other guests during our stay so it was all quiet. There is a nice inner court that provides both sun and shadows and allows you to relax in front of your room. The room we had was great, huge bed, working shower with warm water - all good. We had asked for the standard dinner menu (150 dh) and it was 1) delicious and 2) waaaaay too much. We had to leave some food unfortunately. Also, they helped us book a quad trip in the desert on the next day. Easy and from a price perspecitve OK I would say. Would definitely recommend Maison Hassan!

United StatesHassan and his family were very welcoming and accommodating. I was arriving late in the evening and Hassan happily had a fantastic couscous prepared for my arrival after I contacted him. He was also able to arrange a camel trek and lunch the next day. The riad was lovely and the room, comfortable. I wanted to continue my journey to Fes rather than return by bus to Marrakesh, but in order to accomplish that I would have to stay in Merzouga another day and take an overnight bus, for both of which I had little enthusiasm. Hassan's family, observing my reluctance coordinated, with some difficulty i might add, to arrange for transport to Fes the next morning in a shared taxi. I was so glad that i did because the scenery was incredible! So, thank you Hassan and family for all that you did to make my arrival, my stay, and my departure seamlessly comfortable! I recommend, with great enthusiasm, Maison Hassan Merzouga! Nota bene: Hassan's brother is quite possibly the best chef de cuisine in Morocco- and i say this as someone who has been living here for the past eight months and had my fair share of Moroccan dishes. The couscous, the tagine, even the hard boiled eggs (whites firm, yolks jammy) at breakfast were perfectly executed. So good!

United KingdomNothing! Everything was amazing!
Wonderful hosts, Ibrahim and the whole team are so so kind and welcoming. It felt like staying with friends. Nothing was too much trouble. The beds were very comfortable, showers were hot and good pressure. The rooms were very warm with the heaters (we stayed in January) Ibrahim organised different activities for us which meant we didn’t have to deal with anything. An amazing stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to everyone.

GermanyMosquito nets in front of the windows and over the beds are a MUST because the flies are going to make you crazy!!! Yes, they are everywhere and can not be avoided but what can be avoided is that they land on your eyeballs, in your nose or mouth whenever they get the chance
Very clean, new and comfortable beds and sheets, lots of fresh towels, amazing style, lots of space, great views, save and calm neighborhood, free parking in front of the house or in the yard

A beautiful riad where the welcome is warm, the food is fabulous and the location is perfect for your visit to the dunes. We enjoyed our two night stay here. Our room was large with a good bathroom to the side. The owner organised an early morning camel ride for us, which despite the very early start meant for an absolutely incredible experience - in the evening the wind blew up and the sandstorm would not have made for a great time. It was very, very hot when we were there, but the room had aircon which we were very grateful for!
