Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe found a bit of dust in places, stairs were steep and uneven (and I was grateful that I didn't fall and break an ankle), and the low ceilings in the doorways and bathroom were a bit of a challenge for my 6'2" husband; otherwise, we had no complaints.
Dar Mayssane was well located near one of the "gates" or main roads of the medina, very close to the Kasbah, but on a side "street". It was charming... in US terms, probably a bit "shabby chic" as it is a very old home that has maintained a great deal of character.

IndiaNothing. This place is great
Beautifully maintained. We were welcomed with an amazing coffee. Host Anne was very responsive and patient with our queries and tried to address them with utmost sensitivity. You’ll feel loved in this place. Miriam and Fatiha take bars care of the place as if the guests are at their own home.

United KingdomIt was a little chilly at the beginning but the rooms are big, and we were there at the coldest time of the year. It was fine once the room heated up.
Lovely Riad, in the heart of the old town. Beautifully decorated and fabulous host. Walking distance to all the sights we wanted to see. We had a fabulous stay!

JapanBeautiful surprise of a place! A little oasis tucked into one of the many alleys within the medina. Tranquli, despite being in such a central location. Wonderfully welcoming staff, Miriam was very attentive and helpful. I highly recommended a stay here if you are looking for a riad experience...oh, and the bath was fabulous! Thank you so much, I'll be back!!

United StatesA few things: -The shower head was not working in our room only the hose so we showered with that. -The room does not have AC, but we failed to notice that - so just a heads up of this. -This was informed in advance but cash only payment is tricky. -There is NO safe or lock box in the room and we had to request an extra lock to close our room, so anybody could enter it if we didn't do this. -The room is advertised as equipped with a washing machine, but it's the Riad. I requested using it but they ended up charging me for the use of it (perhaps it was the language barrier, but I wasn't aware of this until the bill came). Please be aware of this. -The room was a bit dusty and was not equipped with the hair dyer that is listed.
The location was great - a stroll away from the Medina (market). The staff was accomodating giving us breakfast early on our departure day for an early flight. The Riad is quite beautiful.

United StatesThe room does have a clear design but we commented that it felt like a young woman’s design sense. For example there was a cursive lettering quote on the wall. More importantly there were two things that made the stay less comfortable. First, there is very little sound insulation at this property so expect to hear a lot in your room. We heard everything from the people in the other room’s phone alarm and conversations to a dog barking all night long. Second, the floor tiles in one section need to be redone as they aren’t connected to the floor and stepping on them was unpleasant. Similarly, there was a kind of gross looking and feeling old rug that was meant to make the floor easier to walk on but the knots which comprised the full surface of the rug were pretty unpleasant to walk on. I found this in multiple places in Morocco so not sure it’s specific to this hotel but there was a sulphuric smell coming from the shower. It was pretty unpleasant but there was nothing we could do about it so we just ignored it. Finally, I do not recommend having the hotel do your laundry. The laundry came back somewhat damp and with ink stains on a few pieces. Fortunately the items that got stained weren’t important to me but they are now unwearable.
Dar Mayssane is a lovely place to stay at a reasonable price and the staff were absolutely wonderful. However, do not expect a luxury stay. The hotel has a good location uphill in the old Medina. It is a 20 minute walk from the train station and an easy walk to anywhere in the Medina. The staff (Miriam in particular) are so kind and accommodating! The courtyard is beautiful and a lovely place for breakfast each morning. Our room was nice but there were a number of things that made it a little less than perfect.
