Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe hotel was clean and safe, the staff very friendly, the roof top balcony for breakfast was wonderful. Couple of minor items, bathroom door was a curtain, and no hair dryer.

FranceHôtel hard to find in the first instance. However, we phoned the reception and someone came to meet us. Wifi and tv signal intermittent. Lanes surrounding hôtel can be noisy, but we were staying during Ramadan when people party at night. We got used to it.
Lovely building in the heart of the medina. Rooms large and comfortable. Terrace lovely. Breakfasts great. Staff very friendly.

United KingdomUnfortunately, during our two nights stay, we did not sleep well due to the noise from outside the hotel. We understand this is out of control for the hotel. We highly recommend a shower screen or minimally a shower curtain in the bathroom as it was very difficult to prevent water seeping outside the shower area into the floor.
We stayed at Dar Souran from 09/03-10/03. Dar Souran is a stunning hotel located in the medina, ideal for exploring the medina. The hotel is very clean, tastefully decorated, the superior room where we stayed was spacious, very comfortable with large bed and good size closets. The bathroom had good quality toiletries. Staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. We like to thank all the staff for their hard work and and support during our stay. Thank you.

SpainNothing comes to mind.
This lovely traditional Riad is a gem in a great pedestrian location to explore the Medina. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, Hakim on the reception in particular. The authentic ambience Dar Souran and a lovely breakfast made it a perfect base for exploring Tangier and beyond. Thank you.

United StatesOur room was a bit noisy with some loud altercation going on next door. The lighting could have been better (but that is a very small complaint)
The kindness of the staff. The room (number 8, I believe) was large and well appointed with a king bed, a desk, two comfortable chairs and small table. The shower was great with heat and pressure and size. The location in the Medina. Fairly easy to find. Great breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Lovely small Hammam

Dar Souran is in an excellent location in the heart of the Old Medina of Tangier. Our hosts were super friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. Our accommodation was comfortable and was good-sized. We loved spending time on the rooftop terrace… with awesome views of the Medina and port/harbor in the distance. Overall, I would highly recommend Dar Souran if you are visiting Tangier.

United KingdomWe had the rooftop room with an excellent view. The room itself is clean, well equipped and in great condition. The aircon is decent and our sleeps were relaxing. Breakfast is making you go until the evening. Sadly we spent only two nights in the riad, wish it would have been more. Thank you Hakim and the ladies for making our stay pleasant.

United KingdomSuggest Room 2 could benefit from some brighter lighting for people like us, aged 60 plus. Also, to help guests locate Dar Souran initially, perhaps show a photo of the front door in the accommodation description as the brass nameplate is too high to read at night with light shining on it. Thank you.
We would happily recommend this beautiful Dar in the medina close to Petit Socco with welcoming owners and happy and helpful staff. Decent breakfast on the terrace, a good sized room and traditional en-suite shower room. Unusually, there’s also a lift available if needed.

ItalyDue to the traditional building architecture, the room tends to be a bit dark, and could benefit from enhanced artificial lighting.
Dar Souran is a delightful riad expertly managed by Hakim, whose exceptional hospitality stands out. His willingness to help and kind demeanor create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The room is excellent and comfortably heated, ensuring a cozy stay. While the bathroom and overall cleanliness meet expectations, the true highlight is enjoying the fantastic breakfast on the terrace, which adds a special touch to the experience. The combination of comfortable accommodations, attentive service, and that wonderful rooftop breakfast setting makes Dar Souran a highly recommended choice for your stay. A notable feature is the elevator - quite rare for riads and particularly valuable for guests with mobility needs.
