Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThere were a lot of stairs in Dar Zerhoune, and they were pretty steep, which those with mobility issues might find difficult.
Well situated for a visit to the Roman ruins at Volubilis. Nice, comfortable room. Good shower. Good bed with electric blanket! Excellent dinner and breakfast. Really nice, helpful staff.

IrelandExcellent stay. The staff were so lovely - this is a great stay, the food was excellent for dinner and breakfast. The room was wonderful - even had electric blankets on the bed. Moulay Idriss Zerhoune is a great town to spend time in watching normal life in Morocco, locals were friendly, we spent hours down having tea by the veg market - and of course Volubilis is really close by. It makes such a change to staying in the bigger cities, such beautiful countryside nearby

United StatesWe liked how peaceful and quiet it was. The staff was unobtrusive but totally helpful. The heater and electric blankets made it very warm on cold January nights. Glad we spent 4 nights at this charming hotel.

ItalyWe received a warm welcome with the perfume of incense. The lady showed us the room, there was drinking water, free wifi, heater, hot water, electric bed warmer and a cozy atmosphere. We booked a donkey to visit Volubilis and we received all the support needed to visit the small city of Mulay Idriss. Position is easily reachable from the taxi parking.

AustraliaNothing.
We were the only 6 guests and were made to feel like family. Hajiba is a delightful, welcoming and interesting woman. The donkey tour to Volubilis was a highlight of our stay in Morocco. We loved the food and the rooftop and Moulay Idriss itself. We travelled in low season and saw very few other tourists. So glad we stayed 2 nights.

LuxembourgNo complaint.
Moulay Idriss Zerhoune can be a bit hectic, but Dar Zerhoune is a relaxed oasis in the middle of it, with cool quiet rooms below and a fantastic rooftop terrace on top - where you can lounge and have dinner and breakfast with breathtaking views into the valley (including Volubilis). There are a few steps up and down to reach it, so do consider the donkey option...

United StatesLove, love, loved our stay at Dar Zerhoune. The location is great. The view from the terrace is wonderful. We especially enjoyed the kind, attentive staff. We took a cooking class at the accommodation one day and as well as learning how to cook a Moroccan meal, we got to learn about the local culture and experience shopping in the market. Room was nice with plenty of hot water and a heater that quickly heated the room to a comfortable temperature, we were there in February, so evenings could get a little chilly. We would gladly go back again. Very peaceful. One thing we would do next time is take advantage of some of the hiking nearby. We didn't get a chance to do that this time.

CanadaNothing.
The patio has an amazing view and the space is lovely. We drank the water as suggested and had no issues which was a nice feature. I hate buying so much water. It was easy access to Volubilis and the town square. They can arrange all sorts of things for you from the Riad if you just ask. We arranged a driver to Fes but they offer donkey rides and other things. They even had an electric mattress cover to heat the bed!

CanadaThis is a special town and a magical guesthouse. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished with textile carpets, well placed shelves and chairs. The artwork throughout the guesthouse makes it feel homey. We were able to check in early and were greeted with fresh filtered water which was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and had a cozy duvet (!!!!) perfect for the cool mountain night. Rose organized a donkey ride for us to Volubilis - it was so fun. Check out their work locally to bring care to donkeys - fantastic. Breakfast was homemade crepe like pancakes, corncakes, breads, spreads, olives, butter and cheeses. The view from the rooftop patio is incredible - mountains, valleys, and the ruins. We were sad to have been there for one night only. The people in the town are fun and warm. They treated us like locals. If we are back in Morocco we will spend at least 3 days here. It looks like there are great hiking trails in the area.
