Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCompared to other places the value for money was average.
Really unique building. Staff were very friendly. Pool area is great although might be a bit small if there were lots of guests. Breakfast was good with a lovely Berber omelette. Massive room.

BelgiumSleeping in a Ksar was really a nice experience. You get to see what it really is. Managed by the local people as a cooperative, this place is true to its value. The room, the pool, the restaurant and the atmosphere are really nice. Perfect place for a stop over on the way. We also recommend to visit the museum just next door, also managed by the community. Good overview of the local practices and history.

BelgiumVery unique place to stay, in the middle of the Ksar. Cosy and comfortable room. Parking available just outside the accommodation. Great restaurant! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, we had a great welcome and Moustafa was always available to serve and help. We had a relaxing afternoon by the pool and a nice evening stroll in the town. The next morning we visited la musée des sources de lalla Mimouna (10min drive from the hotel). Would 100% recommend as a stopover on the way to/from Merzouga!

NetherlandsThe road towards the hotel is a bit tricky to find. Make sure you come to the hotel via the main road and not through the village where the road is very narrow.
Very culture rich location and a fantastic experience! The restaurant is also very authentic and with excellent service. A great value for the price 😀

GermanyBig rooms in an authentic ksar in a small village amidst a palm grove - very special ! Also the museum is worth a visit, you learn a lot about the Amazigh (Berber) people that inhabit this zone. Part of the money you spend goes to an association that supports the people in the village, and employees are from the zone as well.

United KingdomThe old ksar in which we stayed is absolutely magnificent and still retains it's original charm , and also its original inhabitants , which now include a lot of children! The staff are all very polite happy to help. Take some time to walk around the small surrounding village and get to know the village population. All of them are so friendly and genuine. The room is also large and very clean , it is so peaceful and quiet inside the old ksar which makes resting for your travels much easier!

AustraliaIt was a fantastic traditional Berber mudbrick historical building set on the dry river bank. The rooms were large and cool. Great pool to cool off in. In a remote location, so no shops around, but we liked that. Fabulous Berber museum onsite. While we were there the entire village's water was off for a few hours which made us realise the challenges these desert communities face.

CanadaWe had no difficulty finding the kasbah but we had a little difficulty finding the entrance to the hotel. An extra sign post would have been helpful
The hotel is in a historical kasbah, part of which seems to be still inhabited. It is the most charming of places. It has nooks and crannies and terraces everywhere. We climbed on the roof for a great view. There is a beautiful spotlessly clean pool hidden in the center. The restaurant has several terraces with views on the palm grove. There is a protected parking lot. The bedroom was large with high ceilings and wonderful decor. The beds were super comfy. We had a sitting room adjoining the large bedroom. The AC and hot water were good. The staff was so warm and smiling and helpful. We adored the place.
