Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI left 50 euro cash in my room because I was unaware they were going to enter my room to clean and it went missing. The bathroom also flooded the room with poor drainage.
The bed was large and the staff was friendly.

Excellent location, rooms were clean, breakfast was OK, a bit noisy but not too bad,. We had pigeons above our room in the roof, but luckily they didn't make any noise in the night.

ArgentinaExpensive for what it offers (55 euros a night). No kitchen if you are looking for one. Cleaning lady tried to enter into our room before check out time. They were repairing some of the rooms, so it was noisy in the morning and afternoon. Wifi does not work well. When having a shower, the water flooded the room.
Location is perfect, near to everything touristic in Marrakesh. View from terrace is great. Breakfast is acceptable, with bread, ham and coffee. 24 hour reception. You can exchange money to dirhams on the hotel. You can leave you luggage after check out.

AustraliaIt is quite noisy in the evening, furniture being mved ready for breakfast, etc. Also, there was no kettle or cup/glass. However, I think these things are the norm in traditional Morocca hotels.
It is conveniently located near the major souk in the city. The views from the terrace restaurant are very good - the Khoutoubia Mosque is just opposite.

United KingdomIt's overpriced for what it is. I know this, yet I still stay here time after time for the location and 'better the devil you know'. It's never been great, but it doesn't get much worse. Except this time my toilet seat was loose, I had only hand towels and the air conditioning wasn't working (there wasn't even a control for it). Usually that wouldn't matter as the windows open. But there was a loud concert on the square until 1am so my choice was to be deafened or roasted. Breakfast is average. Made up for by the view!
The only real reason to stay at the Islane is its location - probably the best in Marrakech. Near everything, easy to find, easily reachable by public transport and just a short walk from the Djemma el Fna, whilst being separate from it. There's a lovely roof terrace for breakfast or a lazy pot of tea in the afternoon, although you pay for the view, of course. They try to make the rooms attractive with colourful ceramics and bedspreads but the truth is they're pretty run down.

United KingdomIt was very out dated and old. Definitely in need of renovation. The breakfast didn’t include much option and was not neat as it was covered in flies and bees. The linen and towels need to be replaced.
I slept well even though outside was very noisy because we’re very tired. The AC was working well.

SerbiaThe WiFi was poor, the bathroom was outdated and in need of renovation, and there was a musty smell in the room due to high humidity. The noise insulation was inadequate, making it hard to sleep with noise from outside and the hallway. Breakfast was low quality with limited options, and only black coffee was included; other types cost extra. Additionally, the room lighting was insufficient, making the space feel dim and uncomfortable.
The hotel is within walking distance to the Medina and many good restaurants. The staff is friendly, and there is a currency exchange and a tour agency on the ground floor. Breakfast is served on the rooftop, although it may be inconvenient for those with mobility issues as there is no elevator. The price is justified primarily by its prime location.

SwedenI had made a reservation to the Atlas Mountains through Bokking.com, Viator, online. The excursion was canceled at the last moment. There were no other tours, except for a private tour that cost 700 dirhams. It was my last day in Marrakech. Booked the trip. After a while the driver said it will cost 1000 dirhams. After the tour we came back to the hotel where the tour salesman is, in the hotel lobby, behind a small desk with a computer. He explained that Online booking is not to be trusted. You should book through a local seller, preferably through him. He had never heard of Bokking.com or Viator. I have always booked online, this trip 6 bookings online. The company in the lobby is called Islan Sports and Travels. Cannot be recommended. A suspicious seller.
Good location. AND room. Good breakfast. Nice restaurant with a nice view. The rooms and restaurant are on the top floor, can be difficult if you have difficulty moving, walking.

United StatesFirstly, I believe I got sick due to some black mold in the bathroom!!!! It was a very unpleasant experience and I should have complained to the staff! The restroom was not fully clean because it had a funky odor! Once again it’s pretty old place and I hated the door locking on me multiple times!!!!!! I also didn’t like that the lights should turn off in the hallways!!! Their shouldn’t be off whatsoever but I guess it’s a thing on hotel islane!
The breakfast section that was overlooking the mosque!!! I thought the staff were very kind and helpful!

United KingdomLocation very convenient – view of Koutoubia Mosque, short walk to Jemaa El Fna. Entrance not easy to find. Room a bit tired, but serviceable. Busy road outside, but double glazing meant it was quiet inside. Breakfast OK, although nothing inspiring – it is served on the top floor (open, so quite cold in the morning).
